Place was lit! Gave us free dipping sauce! Best wings I've had at a pizza joint. If you're in Guelph, it's a must try.

It is currently lockdown in the middle of winter when patio or car eating are the only options…read more Heated patio here, visited on -9C, need the jacket on. I stopped in for a bite, after reading a review complimenting that patio was suitable for spring and autumn...so why not winter. We called in and asked if their patio was open, then learned we could reserve spots. It was-9C with wind chill and some sun. They were accomodating to slot us in for 2.30-3.30pm and even when we were slightly late they honoured and held our reservation. We ordered the wings at $15 for 7 pieces and the swet potato fries for $12 (plsteful). The wings were well fried and generously coated with honey garlic, we were asked if we wanted it on the side or all over. The wings were served with two sticks of celery and one carrot and a blue cheese dip. The sweet potato fries were skinny and fried with a light coating that was extra crispy and served with an aioli sauce. The location has menus on the wall and QR code. The heaters near the menu on the ceiling was on but the ones facing the opposite direction was on. A bit drafty, I would recommend sitting closer to the covered patio side. The location has some comfy blankets to use, but not much is done to sanitize customer to customer so we enjoyed our own jacket. The restaurant recommended to bring some blankets but we were on the go and didny have any. The parking lot has spots, but I would presume most customers would be drinking and responsibly walking or riding taxi.

The location is an old house and the holidays amplified the cozy atmosphere to 100. The fire place was great and warm and I loved it. The food was amazing and the portions were ginormous. Would definitely recommend the Mac and cheese the spices were perfect.

The appetizers (calamari, mozza sticks, and wings) were great! Very solid choices although personally the wings (medium) were a little too sweet for us. Service was ok but the waitress did seem a bit stressed. The mains, however, were a bit disappointing. The burgers were just ok, my halloumi in the halloumi salad was burnt (although the salad itself was great), and the children's cheese sandwich was also burnt. The fish & chips were very oily. Usually I really want to like and rate local establishments well as I am a local myself, but burnt food is a no-no and unfortunately with kids I don't really have the time to ask for a remake. Great vibes for a good beer though.

Set ourselves up with a West Avenue Heritage dry cider and ordered a Poke Tuna Bowl and a Beef Dip. First of all, the service was excellent. Warm, friendly and genuine. I even spilled a whole glass of cider and they replaced it free of charge. The food was very good and we would certainly come back. Highly recommend this for a wonderful lunch.

We were mistaken; there were no iPhone 3G(s) phones anywhere in Ontario -- could not get them for love nor money. We weren't about to purchase phones we didn't want, since we'd only qualify for the promotional price for the phones once, so we left unsatisfied. Found a pay-phone and called our new landlord, who met us at the house. After a walkthrough of our new premises, after settling the cats in with litter-box and water, after hastily unloading the car, we took our exhausted selves off to find someplace open for dinner at 9:30 at night. The shopping mall a couple of blocks from our house had a bar/grill called "Shoeless Joe's" that was open; the bar was crowded, so we opted to eat in the quiet dining room. Our waitress was pleasant, personable and efficient; she was also, apparently, being given a hard time by some drunkies in the bar next door (we overheard her conversing with the manager about refusing service to someone). Well, we weren't going to give anyone any trouble, tired and hungry as we were. I got the lobster fettuccine with tomato cream sauce; His Goatness got the meaty-meat platter with hickory smoked BBQ ribs and chicken wings with a smoked jalapeño honey sauce. We ordered the Sleeman's Honey Ale, which a friend of ours declaimed as her favorite beer -- it arrived in a can that was so plain and cheap-looking as to appear generic. The taste: flat as a pre-teen training bra. No complexity, no real flavor. What a disappointment! Dinner: late-night bar food chain standard, like what could be found in any Chile's or TGI Friday's. (HG liked his meaty-meat better than I liked my entree. What I tasted of the lobster suggested that it was better I not really taste it through the heavy sauce.) Still, I am grateful that they were open that late, and I always appreciate great service. Finally fed, our humor improved as we headed home to camp in our empty house...
