Downtown guelph where parking is almost non existent, this is a place found visible at the intersection. When you walk in, you first get greeted by the hostess. It was a Saturday at 2pm, so we weren't hopeful to get a table, however a few empty tables near a very nice looking bar and within 5 minutes we were seated. Promptly given beverages, the service was wonderful. We were a party of two. The ambiance was tasteful and quiet. We were able to actually talk and hear each other. Calamari arrabiatta - 8/10 The calamari was nicely fried. It lays on a flavourful tomato sauce with pieces of Thai chilis scattered. That's the spicy part of the dish, only if you eat the chili as well. Drizzled with lots of a mayo like sauce on top. Eggplant parmigiana 8/10 This was surprisingly small for $12, but from this I have concluded that their tomato base is very very good. Nicely seasoned. Baked well. Cheese was melty. I kind of wish I didn't get the ends of the eggplant though... Arugula e prosciutto pizza 8.5/10 This is a neo style pizza so expect the crust to be very thin with a soggy middle. The ingredients are very fresh. I found the dough to be a little salty for my tastebuds but still a very nice pizza oven flavor. Bolognese - 8/10 The pasta was Al dente and perfectly cooked. The sauce was average but still good. I asked for some Parmesan and they gave a hefty amount which I love! The sauce could be a little richer in flavour but overall a decent pasta.

A perfect place for a romantic evening with some decent Italian food. For the best experience go for the house specials and pizzas. So our dragoncello pasta was different in taste but very dry and very fried types. It should have had some more cheese or if it wasn't fried it would have been been a little better. The house red was off dry, smoky and very delicious wine, paired well with our pizza. We ordered a 1/2 ltr. The house bread served along with balsamic vinegar and olive oil was a winner. It was a rosemary bread , served warm. It was one of the best bread we've ever got. My 2 year old also loved it. I wish they refilled, we requested but they still didn't bring any.. our server Jes was very cheerful though. The pizza was the highlight of the night, cooked perfect. The pesto was very aromatic and fresh. St last but not the least tiramisu- hmm not sure of I liked the offbeat taste! It was very creamy and little bit salty, so I am not even sure If I liked it or not. Or I did like it but not like yes bring more. Hahaha. Overall still a good experience!

Very good Italian restaurant in Guelph downtown. We ordered the Toscana pizza (vegetarian), it was with basil pesto, fior di latte, olives, artichokes, mushrooms and roasted red peppers. It was fantastic. We ordered the dragancello pasta. It was with cremini mushrooms, tarragon pesto, fresh cream and grams padano. Pasta was okay. We found it to be very dry, would have preferred it saucier. The tiramisu was delicious. They served rosemary focaccia with olive oil and balsamic. It was amazing. The house red wine was ($20) for half litre. It was okay.

Came here for a date night with my husband as I've been wanting to try out this place since moving to Guelph! I absolutely loved the charred octopus. The mushroom crostini doesn't seem to be on the menu anymore but I'm a huge fan of mushrooms and was not disappointed with these! The only thing I wasn't too fond of was the pizza we had ordered, we opted to get one that had anchovies on it and found that it ended up being far too fishy for us, that was an error on our part having never tried them before. It would've probably been wiser to go with a safer bet where all the toppings were things we had tried before but honestly, it was an experience and we still managed to finish 90% of the pizza! I don't think it's on the menu anymore either. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly and their recommendations were and descriptions were spot on! All in all it was a lovely experience and the food was 4/5 quality!

I had lunch today at Buon Gusto, which is in downtown Guelph. I love love love pizza and ordered a D'Abuzzo pizza. Their pizzas are made in a wood-burning oven, hearth-baking them at 900 degrees Fahrenheit for 90 seconds. It was a good pizza. I liked the crust, which is the traditional Neapolitan thin-crust style ... it was soft and chewy. The cheese was creamy. The salami was salty. There was a lot of tomato ... good thing I like tomatoes! I'd get it again. Louisa was my server. She was friendly and took good care of me.

Hidden gem. Food was amazing. Service was good but just a little slow. After covid lockdown lift, the food industry has been hit with staff shortage so the slow service wast totally understandable.

The food is good and consistent and Sammy and his staff are always friendly and professional. We had not been for awhile but decided to spend another anniversary at Romero's, As usual the Caesar salads were very good as were our entrees. I decided to try the Fettucine Alfredo which I had never had here before. It was one of the best I have ever had. It was obvious that the cream was freshly made and not from a can or outsourced. Sadly though we did not receive complimentry bread which we have always in the past. Did not notice it on other's tables as well. Also, it must be said that this restaurant is in need of some TLC or renovations. The carpeting is long past its useful life and does nothing to add to the Italian atmosphere of the place. The banquet style chairs are also ugly and uncomfortable. We still love the place and will continue to come here as part of our staple restaurants we visit. At one time Romero's was really the only Italian restaurant I would recommend in Guelph. With Buon Gusto and La Cucina in town I think Romeros needs to reinvent themselves a bit.

The meals are a good selection with somewhat larger portions, and very tasty on. I had the linguine Romero and the shrimp and scallops were very tasty and seemed to be fresh. The wine selection is not extensive but I just had the house wine and it was great. The prices are reasonable and the service is great. We were there on a Monday night and although we did not need a reservation the place was almost full. This is definitely a place to visit when in the area.

When we arrived ~9pm, there was a super talented and funny performer who sang, wrote her own songs, played the piano and music pad. Seriously a one woman band! She interacted with the audience too which was neat. As for the food, I ordered their ARTIC CHAR and it was *chef's kiss* cooked to perfection and all the roasted Brussel sprouts & orzo worked deliciously together. My friend got their SEAFOOD LINGUINI which she liked. Definitely would love to return here for a family night out or date night, I already have my eye out on their pizzas :) ALSO, Shout outs to the owner of the restaurant. She was sooo welcoming and noticed right away that we weren't their regulars and came to introduce herself. Made us feel like we were part of the family/town.

Our second visit was not so great however. We came here on a Monday night at around 9pm. Our server was Jessica. She was very nice and accommodating. There was a cold draft from the window and she was kind enough to move us when we asked. She was also very attentive when serving us. Now onto the food. We got the Balsamic Mozzarella again - it was delicious. I really like the sweetness of the honey and tartness of the balsamic vinegar. I'd say this is a must try! For our main, we got the Vodka Pollo Rigatoni. We usually get the social size carbonara and for that dish we always struggle to finish it. We always need to have a little bit for takeout. Now for the rigatoni, it was incredibly small. To the point where when we split it, it wouldn't even fill our entire plate. If this is the social size, I don't even think the individual portion will fill you up a little bit. I cannot emphasize how small this dish was. My partner and I were so confused when we first saw it. We were able to finish the whole dish in about 5 min and even Jessica was confused at how quickly we wiped the plate clean. We had to get a small bite elsewhere since this portion was very tiny. I wouldn't recommend it and it just sort of ruined the meal since we had to eat again. Service is nice as always and the mozzarella is great though.
