Brad R. runs this company and is an exceptional painter. He takes a professional approach, sets up ricing and timeframe and lives up to it. He and his team painted my 3400 square foot home with very high ceilings, combining paint colors to make an exceptional new color that looked so beautiful. He has also painted my townhome and recently painted my new french patio doors. He is exceptionally talented, suggesting areas for improvement. He treats his clients really well, and makes a friend.. Watching him is interesting in how he perfectly ensures that paint properly applied, and is not getting on anything - he doesn't miss any area. He has taught me a lot about painting. His pricing is good and he deserves that and more. I've passed his name to others and they really enjoy him and his work. read more

Brad came out to paint, and spackled my bed room ceiling for 350.00. He said that he would do to whatever make it right . He spent about 3 minutes to spackle the bedroom ceiling, and said that he would be back to paint tomorrow. Brad sent someone else over the next day to sand, and paint the ceiling. The guy spent about a half an hour sanding, and painting the ceiling. He took a check for 350.00, and left. I looked at job, and saw that it was not properly sanded, and that paint was spattered, on my like new furniture. I also noticed that the painter was going through my bedroom furniture drawers. I asked Brad to come back, and fix the ceiling. He came back, and said that he was only going to sand certain parts of ceiling, where he spackled. He said that he was not obligated to do the sanding on other parts of the ceiling, that were not spackled by him. These people are sloppy painters. My ceiling does not look like a professional painter did work on it. I would never get any painting done by these painters again. I do not recommend this painting service to anybody. read more

We had our house painted 4 years ago for 11,000.we were told it would last 10/15 years. It is already starting to crack and peal off all around the house. Contacted Brad a few weeks ago we set up an appointment for 8am on a Saturday he never showed,did not call and I called him several times to set what happened. No return calls I would not recommend them. read more

For the most part, the job started out well and as expected. Our house was empty as we had just purchased it, making things easier. We asked Brad, the person who gave us our initial estimate, if we could delay the painting of the kitchen, dining room and two bedrooms so we could finalize our paint color selection. He agreed and we assured him we would make that decision rather quickly. The quality of the closet, ceiling and painting in the hallways, living room and main bedroom overall was good. The paint job for the exterior of the door however was sloppy with noticeable paint on most of the window panes. When we pointed that out to Brad, he rather gruffly dismissed us and said 'that's how painting is done' to prevent future chipping. (This statement was roundly dismissed by another painter we contacted afterwards). The crew also did not paint the sidelights and when we pointed that out, with a very unprofessional attitude, said that the crew would 'eat' the cost of doing it when they finished the job. We paid (in cash) for the work that was done in 'phase 1.' We thought the amount we paid for this first phase was in excess of the percentage of the job completed, but we paid it since he assured us that the remainder of the job as detailed in the estimate would be covered by the final payment. One week later, after deciding on our paint colors, we tried to contact Brad but after an initial text indicating he would get back in touch with the dates for finishing the job, he never did. Despite multiple phone calls and text messages over nearly three weeks, he did not get back in touch and essentially abandoned the job and his commitment to complete it. In the end, with the help of family members, we finished the job ourselves. What was particularly frustrating and disappointing about this experience is that we were unable to unpack our belongings in multiple rooms of the house, making it particularly challenging (and a health issue) for our family situation. In the end, this is more a reflection of the unprofessionalism of Brad and the company than the crew who actually did the painting. read more

This painter asked for an advance on the second half of the payment due to him halfway through the job due to needing to pay his staff because his brother stiffed him. Being young and inexperienced in this department we immediately gave it to him to help him out. After that he barely finished any of the work left to do and gave us a hard time whenever we asked for things to be touched up or finished. He walked out on the job with the advance we gave him and despite contacting the BBB and him several times, we were unable to retrieve our money. These guys are scammers and frauds. Didnt do what was promised. made mistakes that they said i had to live with. did work i dint ask them to do and did not do it correctly. they even went into my garage without my permission and used my supplies and tools which ended up costing me more money. Dont be fooled. you pay for what you get. i would never hire this company again. read more

If you are looking for a quality paint job that reflects attention to detail, DO NOT use this company. We had our deck re-stained and handrails painted and the quality of the work was sloppy. Paint all over our aluminum spindles, one post did not receive a 2nd coat, etc..We asked Brad to come back and clean up his work more than once and he is no longer responding. It is beyond me why a service like this would not ensure quality work and customer satisfaction. Would not recommend this company. read more

In response to the previous review I would like to set the record straight as I happened to be present. Firstly I would like to describe the work that was contracted to be done. This was a three tier deck that was set in among in around maple trees. The decks were inundated with seedlings. (If you know what these are and have a deck, you already get the picture). Another employee spent TWO days removing these from between the deck boards with a five and one tool. On the frist day Steve was not at home but his father was there. Upon seeing the large amount of debris that was being created from this removal process he father suggested that we use the leaf blower that was in the garage and the FATHER opened the garage for the retrival of the leaf blower. After two days of the clearing process we were ready to stain the deck. BIG SURPRISE, more seedlings in between some boards. Not anything near what we had already cleared but they kept coming down during the entire process of the staining and will continue to plague the decks "as long as they both shall live" ! This is the problem that Steve was told he will be living with as long as those trees are there. Secondly, Steve had two columns on his front porch that were newer but had NEVER been primed or painted and the bare wood was getting dirty and weathered and not very nice looking. Brad Rankin, the owner of 3 Generations Painting. Company saw this and offered his services for "free" to prevent the newer columns from further deterioration. He sanded them , primed them and painted them for FREE. Brad purchased the paint to match the other trim on the house. This was the last day of the job. When he arrived at the house and started painting the columns he noticed that the paint was a bit darker than the rest of the trim. Being extremely inconvenient to run back to the store, Brad being an experienced professional paint colorist knew that a little bit of white would zolve the problem. Some electricans were in in Steve's garage so Brad took a quick look to see if Steve had any white semi-gloss around, and he did.PROBLEM SOLVED. Brad finished the original job plus the free columns and was about to depart when Steve then asked Brad to give him an estimate for the trim on the rest of his house AND gave him the telephone number for his brother who also needed his deck stained. GO FIGURE!!!! HE WAS "UNSATISFIED" with the work that was already done but HE WANTED MORE WORK DONE AND GAVE HIM A REFERRAL!!!!! Steve then went to the BBB (Better Business Bureau) and the BBB dismissed the claim. Now that you have ALL of the DETAILS ( which Steve did not provide) you can decide for yourself what kind of company 3 Generations Painting is.
