    Book signing for Cindy Vanous
    Cindy V.

When I decided to hold my children's book release party, I knew I wanted it to be in my home town in Denton, Texas. On the historic square, there are many beautiful old buildings, and an amazing tearoom. It was the 3 Roses Tea Room where I decided to share my special day, and it was perfect! This tearoom is a family owned women business, and they pay special attention to every detail. It's spacious, beautifully decorated, and makes you feel like you're stepping back in time. Of course the building itself is wonderful, with gorgeous ceiling tiles, and a whispered past. It was the perfect place to share my event as my children's books are vintage inspired. The food was delicious! Everyone commented on the scones - they were a crowd pleaser! But all the food, and the service was truly thoughtful, memorable, and just a delightful experience. I dreamed of holding a release party where people felt like it was an experience and not just a book signing, and that dream came true this day! This tearoom and the owners made this day more than special to me, they made it memorable.

Cindy V. wanted to have a small event to thank her local Denton friends and family and celebrate her latest children's book, "Asher's Christmas Wish". When she saw the 3 Roses Tea Room and Gifts, she knew this was the place! 3 Roses is a charming Tea Room, just off the square in one of Denton's original downtown buildings. An historic building, a gorgeous tea room, and great food made it the perfect venue for her guest list of 55 (their capacity) people. The food, teas, and service were ALL fantastic. You know she chose the right venue when guest after guest came up to us saying it was the perfect place for this celebration. One of her guest is already talking to them about hosting her mother's 95th birthday. I highly recommend them for a great treat or a great intimate event, you won't be disappointed! Review #2117

This was such a great experience! It was decorated beautifully for Christmas, excellent service and a large selection of tea including seasonal options. Excellent sandwiches and dessert and definitely plan to be back with friends!

    Great place to celebrate!

The space is a bit more open than tea rooms I've visited in the past and in the UK (it's very much a strip mall style space in terms of the bones of the location) but is very well decorated. Attention to detail is apparent throughout, from the antique tea sets to using Regency era books as check presenters. The service is great; super attentive. Their tea menu is well appointed with different leaves to choose from and a variety of cream tea food staples. The scones and clotted cream rivaled some of the better ones I've had in the UK. The finger sandwiches are immensely craveable. Let's be honest though, I'm a sucker for cucumber sandwiches and egg salad sandwiches. Highly recommend for any sort of outing, whether you are celebrating or just want to have high tea.

I'm so glad that we finally have an amazing tea house where we can enjoy delicious teas and food. Everything is exquisite! My daughter and I went there for a mother daughter date and we truly enjoyed the experience and the front of the house host was very charming and welcoming. They truly are an amazing place to visit and enjoy great food and teas.

    The receipt

The food was ok the teas were just tea bags and they added a 20% gratuity fee when it was just me and a friend. In my opinion you can't call yourself a tea room and then just serve tea that I could buy at any grocery store. Not impressed at all especially for the experience price!!

Holiday tea with their delicious tea sandwiches, the perfect scones, and decadent desserts!

Went to 3 Roses Tea Room yesterday with my partner for their Holiday tea and everything was amazing! The tables are all set so beautifully, the food was amazing, and the teas were all so delicious! We got to pick 3 teas to go with our meal and staff was always available to refresh the hot water as we needed it. The sandwiches were so good and the scones were the perfect consistency. My favorite I think were the adorable little gingerbread houses for dessert. If you like high tea, this is the spot!!

Patchouli Joe's Books was an okay bookstore for me…read more After reading some of their amazing reviews, and exploring some of the other bookstores around Denton I had high expectations for this store. However, I don't know if we caught them on a bad day, if their inventory was really low after Indie Bookstore Day the weekend before, or if the stars just weren't aligned that day but the store itself was very empty. The book selection was minimal and the staff was not exactly helpful. Frankly the store felt too big for the minimal amount of books they had. Also customer service was absent that day and after asking some questions to the person at the counter you could tell he just didn't want to be there. The difference in customer interaction between this store and others around Denton was like night and day. Would I come back to Patchouli? Maybe, but it wouldn't be my first stop when visiting Denton.

And you create a space that honors the building and updating it with warm wood and fixtures, you're doing it right in my opinion. I loved the selections offered here and so did my daughters and granddaughter. Yes, I bought books here and my granddaughter was thrilled. There's a dedicated children's area with nice seating for them. There was a touch of magic there. Kids were happy and couldn't wait to get to the next book. That is what a book store is supposed to be about. I met the owners and both are genuinely nice and they care about their customers and their business. Both are very knowledgeable and more than happy to help in any way. If you're in Denton, you need to drop in and browse around - I bet you walk out with a great book!

This shop couldn't be more adorable if it tried!…read more I give it 5 stars for being a local small business and for promoting other local businesses. That's awesome and I can get behind that. The soap is $9 for 5 ounces, except the sea salt soaps which are $11. I was told if we bought 3, we get a special deal- $22 I think. We bought one to try out and see how long it lasts, handmade soap is the kind of thing we buy on vacations, so I was excited to try it. We purchased the lemongrass shea butter and it's nice, if not a little rough, and has a lovely, refreshing fragrance. This place isn't cheap for a regular, weekly shopping trip, but everything in this store would make an amazing gift!!! I was amazed at the array of products- jewelry, kitchenware, candles, handmade bags, notebooks, etc. My favorites that I filed away for future gifts were the beautiful bookmarks and the gemstone nightlights. Just gorgeous! My mom and mother in law would LOVE it here! At the time we stopped in, a Saturday mid afternoon, we were the only customers. There was an event going on near the square, so I'm sure that may have been part of the reason. It may also be because they are slightly hidden at the corner of their parking lot, next to a chiropractors office off Elm and Congress. They are the next lot over from where The Cupboard was and the next street over from Seven Mile Café for reference. They are open 10-6pm on weekdays, 10-4pm on Saturdays and closed on Sundays. The employee was friendly and let us know more about the business. Everything in the store is either made by them or a local business owner. I love places with this kind of business practice and though it's not a cheap gift shop, the pricing definitely matches the quality of the products. They have a loyalty program- you get a point for every product you purchase. Once you get 10 points, you get a free soap! I think this is a must stop if you need a gift for a birthday, anniversary or celebration!

I don't know if I have ever purchased shortcut soaps, but I can tell you these soaps are wonderfully nicer than any others I have tried. Soft on the skin , scents are restrained, not too subtle and not overpowering. Goldilocks would be a fan, they are just right. I will be going back for more, now that I have tried lavender lulu, I am really glad they have a deal on 3 bars!

There was one larger party inside when I arrived, but otherwise the tea room was pretty quiet. The employee working the front counter was incredibly kind and welcoming. She offered great recommendations and even showed me the tea sample racks so I could smell the different blends and learn about their flavor notes (fruity, earthy, etc.). After sampling a few options, I decided on the apricot peach tea for its fruity profile. For food, I ordered the cranberry orange scone and a pesto, tomato, and cheese panini, along with the apricot peach tea. The tea can be served hot or iced, and since it was about 80 degrees outside, I went with iced. Everything came out to around $20 before tip. After paying, I was told to grab any seat and they would bring the food out when it was ready. My sandwich came out first and was delicious. I was also pleasantly surprised that it came with a bag of chips, and I got to pick one from the selection at the counter. The décor is very much inspired by Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, with colorful murals and whimsical artwork throughout the space. The back room was especially charming, with elegant chandeliers and a storybook-like atmosphere. Since it wasn't busy during my visit, I really had the chance to take in all the thoughtful details in the design. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and a great spot for tea, light bites, and a relaxing atmosphere. I'd definitely return!

There was ribbon, paper to wrap the bouquet if you didn't bring a vase. In addition, you got to choose your tea at the event. I went with the English breakfast tea which I enjoyed with cream and honey. Patti, the owner was kind, welcoming and checked up on us throughout the night. The atmosphere was lively, calm and I enjoyed the live music. I ordered a blueberry scone which came with a delicious citrus smear. Patti mentioned there will be more events throughout the summer/fall, so we will be looking forward to our next visit.
