So we sat ourselves because she yelled upon walking in seat yourself in the right front wall curved booth. It took truly about 20 min to get the girl to come over to get our order because she was non stop talking to the one gentleman sitting at the bar. Worst was she was complaining about the bar itself, her managers, the fact they have no business, and she makes no money. I went to order two things that we not avail labor but on the menu first. I think it was fish then something else but to be out upon opening is disturbing. We ordered our drinks and a started of stuffed hot peppers in oil. They came out as 3 super small peppers and I honestly think the restaurant should be embarrassed to serve it and call it an appetizer and not a small plate. 5 bites of that. Finally we got our food and it was nothing special. The waitress had a bad attitude. The lights were never turned on. They complained about customizing an order for my 2 year old daughter who is a picky eater (we went with a cheese quesadilla.) at one point my daughter spilled her drink so I asked for a rag and instead of even saying don't worry about it she placed it on the table and walked away. I've never had that happen at an establishment I am dining at. I have not been back since nor will I be. For the price the owners need to re-evaluate the experience or lower the price and accept it is a very basic dive bar not a fancy Mediterranean place. I have heard they get decently busy on the weekend evenings but I will not ever return because I don't want to give my money to somewhere I left upset.

I thought I had the fish last time, but what we had today was not something I would come back for. The fish appeared to have a corn meal type breading; not beer battered or what you would typically think of as breaded. It gave it a strange texture and grittiness. What it didn't offer was any flavor or added value. Overall the fish portion was small and bland. The rice was very flavorful, but not unlike anything you could buy on the grocery store shelf. The broccoli was plain. As a bar, the Iron House appears to be a warm and cozy place to cuddle up to a beer, but it's not somewhere I'd bring the kids for a meal. My impression of the beers (always a subjective matter, of course) went down something like this: 1400 Miles From Home - a Key Lime Sour. Very light sour, to my liking, with all of the flavors in the description working together quite nicely Kolsch - another light version of this style. It is a good summer beer for someone who wants a little more flavor than a Bud/Coors/Miller Ohio Heat Wave - subtle habanero on the back end slowly builds, but that's about the only thing I'm picking up. This is a very light beer Hang 11 - a sweet IPA? The bitterness is as advertised. Would love to know the hops involved. Very drinkable, but don't expect a mouthful of IPA. We are frequent fliers to Quaker and I can't say I have ever had a bad meal here when dining in. I have had quite a few different things on the menu. My all time faves are the parm/pepper boneless wings (because regular wings are messy when dining out so I usually save those for carry out days) I usually order regular wings crispy so they leave them in a little longer to crisp up the skin on regular wings. They always have cold beer on tap and service is always pretty good since we usually sit at the bar when dining in. If you're looking for a place that has a little bit of everything on the menu this is your stop. If you're looking for a healthier version on wings they also carry grilled boneless wings again so that's usually what I get now with the same parm/pepper sauce. If you stop in before 6 they have a happy hour menu with some appetizers and certain adult beverages are included with a little money off.
