However, since I live in Aventura, I decided to give RH Hair Salon a try. The salon is marketed as a high-end establishment with predominantly good reviews, and I hoped to avoid the long drive to Coral Gables and the heavy traffic. When I called to make my appointment, I specifically asked whether the salon had experienced colorists who specialize in blonde hair. The receptionist assured me that they did, which was an important factor in my decision to book the appointment. Unfortunately, the experience started poorly. The music was blasting so loudly that it was extremely difficult to have a conversation with the stylist. The manager briefly stopped by and explained that this was the "RH Vibe" and, instead of addressing the excessive noise, offered champagne and lowered the music just a tiny bit. Because of the noise, I ultimately showed the stylist the blonde color I already had in my own hair and explained that I simply wanted the grown-out areas highlighted to match. She confirmed that she could perform the requested service. I understand that highlighting my hair can take several hours, as it has always been a lengthy process for me. However, after approximately six hours, the salon was getting ready to close. At that point, the cashier came over and asked me to pay because she was closing the register. This was a BIG mistake on my part, because I had not even seen the final result of the service. I paid $480 for what was supposed to be half a head of blonde highlights. At my usual salons in Coral Gables, I have never been asked to pay before the service was completely finished and I had seen the final result. Unfortunately, what I ended up with was nothing like what I had requested. Instead of blonde highlights, my hair was left with an unattractive brown color. There was a significant amount of bleach used, yet the result was still brown rather than blonde, and there were essentially no proper blonde highlights. I specifically chose this salon because I was told they had experienced blonde colorists, and I paid $480 expecting a professional, high-end result. The outcome was extremely disappointing and far from what I requested. Based on this experience, I will definitely be returning to the professionals I trust in Coral Gables.

She did a full head of highlights with toner and I left with my hair looking really healthy and shiny with a beautiful shade that really complimented my very pale skin tone. She was super sweet and very talented. I have already had 3 random strangers compliment my color and I have referred them all here! Ask for Wanda, she's excellent.

I have bounced around to different Fort Lauderdale salons after moving here 5 years ago and couldn't quite find a perfect fit with the dozen or so places I have tried out. I wanted an easy low maintenance blond (yes I know, no such thing with blond), and Tomy came through. I came in with three layers of color- dark roots about 2 inches long, bleached muddy blond through the middle and orange ends. It was a disaster grow out. I had a consult with Markie for blonde highlights and to blend in my roots but since Markie couldn't do highlights at the moment, she deferred me to Tomy. I didn't know I was in for a treat. I showed Tomy pics of what I wanted and he insisted that the color I wanted would wash me out and that I would not be happy with the maintenance since I wanted low maintenance. Initially, I was disheartened but I can appreciate his honesty and after he explained what he thought would work better for me yet achieve something close to what I was looking for. I thought I came in for a consult but he worked me in between his clients so that he could show me what he could achieve yet still make me happy. Mind you, the salon was super busy but the man is a multitasking genius! He did a toner and root scrape while Markie did my haircut and Yasleen did my blowout. Did I mention that my color was a disaster? Well, 2 hours later, what was flat and orange and 3 different colors was now bright, golden and well blended. My dark roots melted into the blond so seamlessly, you would think Michelangelo painted it himself. I absolutely love the results!

Last night they called me to make sure I was coming. I show up for my scheduled appointment , 15 min early, for them to tell me they have to cancel it. Why do you make appointment wait two weeks and to be told only once you show up that they can't take you. And the only option you are given is to either be with someone else ( which you didn't want so you waited the two weeks) or to wait another week. It's so inconsiderate of people time! I scheduled my entire day around this cause I was told it would take a few hours. This is beyond unacceptable and complete disregard of people and their time. My original review a little more thank a week ago was very upsetting and frustrating but I went back this weekend for the new appointment and they did not disappoint. When I arrived, I really had no clue what I wanted - stylist's nightmare, I'm sure. I had had long hair for so long, I couldn't picture myself with any other hairstyle. After clipping off the bleached ends of my mane, Alissa shampooed and conditioned while we chatted a bit about life. (Note, water did make its way down my neck and back during this experience) Alissa had suggested layers framing my face and the rest of my hair - my only concern was I wanted to maintain some length, which she reassured me I would. Snip snip away! 45 minutes and a styling blow dry later, my head was so much lighter. It was crazy. Well, according to friends, it's still long, but I feel the difference. And it feels so strong and healthy. After about 2 weeks, I'm finally used to the feel of the layers. The only note that I had was the location - if your GPS tells you to U-turn at the light, do not! You want to left turn and then turn left again, following the road back until you see a two-story strip mall. It's an awkward location, and in the evening, there is very little lighting around the building and the stairwells. Nonetheless, I'm pleased with my experience at FeNom, and with Alissa. They sent reminder texts to confirm my appointment, and were very accommodating. If you let FeNom know Stacy referred you, we both get a percentage off our services!
