They take a maximum of 6 clients at a time. I got specialized individual care in a loving and caring environment. The mental health therapy was top notch and offered a minimum of 2 times a week. In addition, Stephanie, the therapist, was in-house and available anytime she was needed. After being traumatized at Destin Recovery and by my husband, she guided me through the process of determining what happened to me, why, and whether the marriage was savable. She met with both of us. Of course, she did not advise one way or the other, but helped me see the issues for what they were. Bayshore is a beautiful home on the bay. The surroundings are family like and serene. Paddle boards and kayaks are available. I was free to use my computer and cell phone. Family visits were encouraged every weekend. I felt I was still in the real world with access to anything I needed. Family contact is very important in recovery, and most treatment facilities shut the family and world out or are very strict about visits. Not so at Bayshore. My family was invited to Sunday dinner anytime I wanted. Although it IS offered, Bayshore is not a 12 step program. 12 step programs do not work for me. If you want 12 step treatment, they will see you get it. But, AA and NA are free programs anyway. I didn't want to pay a treatment facility for a free service. Most treatment centers do this very thing. At Bayshore, I was given SO much insight into my alcoholism, coping skills, and the tools I needed to recover. Free time was given to enjoy the pool and jacuzzi. The sauna was available to help with detoxifying my body. The food was cooked by our private chef. It was healthy and delicious. Yoga and massage were included in the treatment. The Saturday outings were phenomenal. ie-deep sea fishing trips, manicures, pedicures, fine dining, air boat rides, etc. No expense was spared. I was allowed to have doctor appointments, acupuncture, hair appointments, etc. The physician taught group and was available at admission and as needed. The group therapy was useful, informative, and interesting. Bayshore treats the mind, body, and spirit. It's just what I needed for recovery from alcohol (although they treat any addiction) and marriage problems. They continue to stay in touch with me and truly care about my recovery and life's little battles I'm experiencing. Bayshore really is a retreat!
