We sat at the bar for our first time here. It was happy hour and the host gave us menus and explained the happy hour which was very nice. We had the cheese bread sticks that was an appetizer on 50% off for happy hour. They were very good. The server asked if we wanted garlic cream cheese and so we said yes to find out it was a $1.50 extra for a small amount. I think it's best to let the customer know it's an added fee first. I have been now a couple of times. I want to like 313, but struggle to endorse it. I would go if someone else was paying, but not sure I would choose it. The service is typically friendly and slow. Pizza is certainly a personal preference, but the crust is odd. It is not typical Detroit-style, it has a strangeness to the texture (fluffy? non-crunchy outer area?). Perhaps it is their own take on Detroit-style, but it is not my style. Again, personal preference, but I much preferred the BBQ place before they switched to 313. I see plenty of positive reviews, so take mine with a grain of salt, it may be a "me thing." Give it a try see what you think. read more

Beautiful summer night and only one other family sitting outside in the little courtyard. Excellent service. Nice selection of beer on tap. Two of us shared a large pizza and we chose the Large Spicy Sausage and Peppers. Great Detroit Style pizza and it was delicious although not really spicy. Took home a few pieces for lunch today. I was looking to try different pizza places and 313 Pizza Bar was on my list. Detroit style pizza is in a league of its own and 313 Pizza Bar does a good job of applying that standard. The service was not the quickest, but we went on a Friday night so it was relatively busy and that could attribute to the speed. The pizza did come out quick for a Detroit style and it was cooked well. There was quite a bit of sauce, which is not my favorite, so that could be a good or bad thing depending on your preference. We ended up sitting on the small outside patio, which was nice, but there aren't many views. They seem to have an "upper patio" which could get better views, but I am not sure if it is always open. Overall 313 Pizza Bar did not disappoint and we will be back to have some more. read more

I had to try some Detroit Style pizza while up in Michigan. I am not an expert on this style of pizza, but I thought it was really good. Edges are nice and crisp but the center is cheesy and filled with toppings. I got the carnivore and had two pieces and was full. I got to have leftovers for the next day, which is always a plus. Stopped in here with my wife for lunch and was pleasantly surprised about this place. I remember being in this location for when there was a BBQ place in there that we didn't care for and thought we would give it a try as a pizza place. Their pizza was very good, nice Detroit style pizza, similar to buddy's but NOT BUDDY's. We also had a smash burger there, I am not a smash burger expert, but this one was absolutely fantastic! The service was a little slow when we were there but there was only one waitress that was working at the time, it did seem that maybe they were a little short staffed so we waited a little longer than we would have like, but we will definitely return and give 313 another try. Overwhelming SALT. Chicken carbonara and dill pickle pizza. I suspect the pizzas would have been flavorful as they were baked perfectly with nice crispy edges and decent ingredients but the SALT! Did the shaker fall open on both pizzas??? Love pizza, hot, cold, for breakfast. This truly was the most salty thing I have ever tried to eat. Very disappointed it was such a waste and had to be trashed. Maybe it was an accident with the shaker but I won't try again. read more

Was very unimpressed with our first visit to 313 last night. I'm generously giving 3 stars because our server was nice. It took almost 2 hours to get 2 large pizzas out to us. We were told the kitchen was short staffed. They should let patrons know ahead of time before sitting down if they foresee that long of a backup. We didn't know there was that long of a wait time until 30+ mins into the wait for our pizza. The pizza was very mediocre and comparable to Jets in my opinion. read more

I was sad to see the BBQ place leave but the pizza isn't bad at all. My two favorite things was the sausage and wings and guess what you can still get both of them. My review is based off service. I was hopeful to try 313, but with the pandemic we didn't get a chance. However .... We have neighbors who ordered carry out. They're quarantined so we opted to go pick this up for them and leave on their porch. Quoted time: 45 minutes. (6:20 PM) - 60 minutes in, the server would not give an updated ETA. - 5 minutes later, the ETA moved to "a few minutes" .... right. Other customers are clearly upset as well. - 7:43 PM, I forget how many minutes we are at but we are assured only 6 more minutes! - 8:00 PM ..... I'm at a loss for words. Finally leaving. Oh, and they're still telling NEW orders it will be 45 minutes. STOP SETTING FALSE EXPECTATIONS! We have really been looking forward to trying the replacement for Lockhardts BBQ. The weather was perfect, so we decided to try 313 and sit outside. The restaurant is identical to the previous tennant. The menu is electronic, which is perfect for germs. It isn't super extensive, but the hut the necessaries. Thankfully, it was happy hour and we were able to order apps half off. This is good because the 4 breadsticks we were served were bland and overdone. Not worth $8. For our entree, my son ordered the Detroit style cheese pizza. This was a generous portion for a kids meal. It looked identical to Buddys and he liked it. My husband and I split the Chicken Carbonara pizza, which comes in 4 or 8 slices. It had an Alfredo sauce, small, cubes of dry chicken, and bacon. It was just OK. The chicken was bland and super dry, like it had been cooked off hours ago. 313 isn't cheap, so we were expecting fresh toppings. The service was friendly and efficient, so we may be back, but not anytime soon. read more

What a an amazing find! We happened upon this spot accidentally a few weeks ago and we discussed coming back to try their pizza. We found out that they were hosting a MSU/UofM tailgate party. This was our opportunity to give it a try. We woke up early, and made the drive out this way to cheer on our teams. This happens to be one of our most favorite days of rivalry. We always do something special on this day! Unfortunately, we were unable to actually go to the game, but it was fun to celebrate at the 313. We found a seat at the bar and enjoyed the patrons cheering on their favorite team. We had fantastic service and drank quite a few drinks. We ended up having Titos and Soda with a lime. It's much lighter than beer. Our drinks were great. We ordered chicken wings, which were delicious and their pepperoni pizza. We absolutely loved the pizza!!!!!!! Went to 313 last night for a North Oakland Democrat meeting. The upstairs room was a nice size to hold our meeting. The bartender and servers were attentive and very kind. Our Antipasto salad and chicken wings were cooked perfectly. Such a nice place to go. read more

I would really like to like this place. We could really use a good pizza restaurant in Orion, but. . . It's my understanding that this is the same owner(s) that had owned the ill-fated Lockhart's, and despite their rebranding and reimagined restaurant, they seem to be making the same type of mistakes that closed the doors of their last restaurant in Orion. Party of 4, came in around 5:30 pm on a Saturday. Restaurant was about 1/2 full. Seemingly well staffed. Keep in mind it's only 5:30 and the first four things we tried to ordered, they were out of. We had already ordered drinks and a salad appetizer, so we stuck it out. Chopped lettuce salad, no protein = $14! Despite it being only 1/2 full, they were jamming classic rock music so loud you literally couldn't have a conversation with the person sitting next to you. Asked if they could turn it down, server said she would ask, they never did. To be clear it was obnoxiously loud for a restaurant. . . . Like, live band loud at 5:30. Summary: I'd be willing to give them more slack, but considering it seems to be a lot of the same staff, and the same owners as Lockhart's, they should know better by now. Only open for a few weeks, they can't seem to figure out basics like food ordering, not playing music so obnoxiously loud that people can't even have a conversation. Considering their limited menu, it's surprising that they were so unprepared for Saturday. I'd love to say I could rate their pizza, but they were out of everything we tried to order. The salad was iceberg lettuce chopped up with a few tomatoes and croutons. If this is how they're going to operate, I'll give them until July of 2020 before the doors are closed again. read more

Forget about it, so frickin good!!! Not only is the food fantastic, the staff and venue are the best around! They have a variety of patios, bars and seating on two levels. This used to be Lockhart's. Has the same open feel and really blends into becoming a pizzeria. Many craft beers to choose from and a simple menu of signature Detroit Style pizza's. Detroit style pizzas if you don't know were made famous by Buddy's Pizza and they do a good job with their pizza (see menu). Believe it or not, I like their sauce better, the crust is good with the char on the edges which is a plus. I don't have really any complaints except the price is about 2 bucks more than Buddy's for the same style Detroit square Pizza. I assume this is because I believe their ingredients are a little more on the higher end of quality. To each their own. I loved the antipasto salad and the Italian dressing (zingy), just thought 9.00 for a cold soup bowl of salad with quality meats, tomato, lettuce and peppers was a little much. This is one of the things, if I were the owner would change. I feel skimping on salad sends a bad impression to the customer and makes me feel they are pinching pennies. A pizzeria to me growing up ALWAYS had an abundance of salad (even on an individual). Maybe I should have ordered the bigger one at 18.00.. So I can't judge if that was worth it. I will not give four stars over something so minor in such a young restaurant and I'm sure it's just growing pains. All and all, I would recommend anyone give it a shot. It's always nice to visit a pizzeria that isn't just a bar. I feel good things are still to come!! Looking forward to next time and trying one of their signature pizza's. read more
