They are thorough with their work and take the extra time to really explain things to you - both about your mouth and your billing. Insurance can be tricky and I've had issues with other offices not being transparent about pricing, but not here. Dr. James Kakos is a pro's pro and we are very happy with his dental work. Today though we returned to this more convenient (for us) Arlington Heights office for a specialized need. Wife had a stripped screw not reliably holding a crown onto an implant and Dr. Kakos was able to extract and replace the screw as well as salvage the crown which was an unexpected bonus. This was a repair that our regular and very good dentist could not perform. I got to witness the work and wow, it was like watching an auto mechanic with a vast array of sophisticated miniature tools at work, and it was fascinating and amazing to see Dr James Kakos' skills in action. I could have more properly used the term cosmetic dentist as opposed to auto mechanic, but all those tools, widgets, and parts made me think of auto mechanic lol. I also have to specify his first name as his son Dr. Stephan Kakos (and third generation dentist!) also now works in this office as well as in Naperville. His specialist services aren't cheap but you get what you pay for and need. Thank you once again Dr. James Kakos!

Dr Kakos phones do not work properly--they go to voicemail hours before closing Dr Kakos uses two endodontic offices, and both are problematic--one wants to charge an emergency fee even for regular appointments, and the other left my temporary crown filling way too high and jagged so that I was in pain for 3 days and did not return my voice mails regarding this. Dr Kakios has zero interest in improving his practice or patient satisfaction. Also, the older woman at his front desk is unprofessional. Find a different dentist--one who is competent to perform his own work and who actually cares.

I called Dr. Mike's office to see if they could make some trays for me prior to my cleaning. The quote - without bleach (I had purchased some Opalescence on my own) was $150. Needless to say due to an emergency and then another issue, I was rescheduled twice for my tray mold-making appointment. They did give me a discount for my troubles. I picked up my trays the same day as my cleaning appointment. I saw Katie as my hygentist and really like her - she's gentle! Katie explained the trays to me. They made a little dot on each tooth in the tray which indicates where/how much gel to put on each tooth. I told her that the pre-filled trays I previously tried caused gum irritation, and she suggested a fluoride paint ($35) - normally done on kids. If gum irritation occurs, she told me to apply Vitamin E topically. She even hooked me up with a few capsules AND a few different tubes (10% and 15%) of whitening gel. Not only did I get my cleaning, trays, and my molds, but an education on teeth whitening! :) Thanks Katie!

Worst customer service experience I've ever had. I feel more love and care from a cashier at a grocery store than compared to this horrible lady. As soon as I find out her name which she refused to provide me after she raised her voice at me, I'll make sure I edit this review and post it here because everyone should know who she is.
