J Cruz was extremely accommodating for our 2-yr old son, recently diagnosed as autistic. I can't…read morespeak to their actual gymnastics program, but they ran a fun "obstacle course" type "class" for young toddlers that kids really enjoyed. The staff was polite, understanding, and accommodating for our special needs son. We hated to leave, but we needed a more structured environment for him due to his needs and their course/class would necessarily change due to goings on at the facility and it was a bit too wide open to contain him, which you'd expect out of a gymnastics facility. Point being, even though our son's special needs meant it wasn't a good fit for him, I still highly recommend this place and is staff.

I understand wanting inside voices however it is ways of talking to children and she needs some guidance. She does not acknowledge the children, only some. There's no positivity and that's something that should be guided or taught before working with toddlers. I've left a voicemail, have yet got a call back. Do better please.

They threatened to physically undress my child who is only 8 years old at a competition and remove her uniform that was already paid in full. That in itself should classify as a threat of some form of child SA. This is how they treat their members to their face, I can only imagine behind closed doors. I removed my daughter immediately after this. They have very sketchy business practices. And overall the gym itself isn't good, the teams are not good, the uniforms are ugly, and the gym is very unorganized. There is only maybe 3-4 good coaches in this gym. The gym is too small and cramped for the teams they have. If you want to know how a gym is doing look at their worlds teams. Also they don't let you keep an eye on your children. Once you drop off your child you're not even allowed to look at them. Very strange considering these are young girls, and us parents should be able to protect and step in if necessary. Also, this gym is the most expensive from most of the other gyms local and around an hour away, and for no good reason. You pay more for a smaller gym, teams that don't win, and unprofessional staff. Just really do your research and know not all gyms work this way. I wouldn't recommend this gym. Please do research and keep your daughters safe mentally and physically from this gym and their illegal practices.

Today I brought my daughter in for a trial class after calling ahead to ask about level placement…read more I was told over the phone that she would be evaluated during the class to determine whether she should be in Level 1 or Level 2. However, when we arrived, there didn't seem to be any actual evaluation. She was placed into a regular class, and the coach did not specifically assess her skills or provide any feedback. She mainly practiced very basic movements, and there was no attempt to check skills like roundoff, which was specifically mentioned during my call. After class, the coach did not communicate anything about her level. When I asked the front desk, I was simply told that if the coach didn't say anything, then she would be placed in Level 1. This was disappointing because it did not match what was explained beforehand. I was expecting at least a brief evaluation and clear feedback on her placement. Better communication and a more structured evaluation process would really improve the experience for new students.

They make every class fun and appropriately challenging, and I love how they guide the children through each step of every activity. They're also very flexible with scheduling make-up classes, which we really appreciate. Communication is easy too--being able to text is so convenient, and they're always quick to respond and incredibly helpful. The owner and staff even recently went out of their way to help us with a scheduling issue, which we truly appreciated. One thing I'd love to see in the future is a third staff member per class. The teachers do a great job with classroom management, but having a consistent third staff member focused solely on supervising behavior and safety would go a long way. Personally I'd like to see them more focused on making sure kids aren't being mean to each other and they're playing safely on equipment. My last note isn't about the business at all, but about parents: I think classes run smoothest when parents stay attentive to their children's behavior. Personally I think when a teacher has already had to redirect a child more than once, the parent needs to step in. When we first moved to the high desert, I found it difficult to find areas that felt safe and clean. I was relieved to find MyGym. The facility is always clean and well-maintained, and it's clear the staff cares about creating a safe, welcoming environment. It's also fun that the play area layout changes regularly to keep things exciting for the kids, though I do wish the larger equipment was kept out of the parent viewing areas so we can easily keep an eye on our little ones. My daughter absolutely loves MyGym. She looks forward to her class every week and she's so excited when we can make it to any extra open play time on the schedule. Overall, we truly love MyGym High Desert and appreciate the amazing teachers and the warm, positive environment they create for the kids!
