Cute spot for kids. Attended a birthday party here in the summer and was impressed that despite all the warm bodies it never got super warm inside. The kids all had things to do, from tumbling, bouncing, to balancing. Overall, the birthday event went well. Tables are set aside for food & cake. There is an allotted time for parties so breakdown happens promptly when your time is up. I didn't get a chance to look a the party packages but I'm sure that info is on the website somewhere. The restrooms are near the entrance. Two cavernous single person restrooms that need a bit more lighting, hooks to hang your things, and a side table to place your bag. They also have a bunch of community events for families here and also special starter classes for kids and parents. They were handing out little flyers promoting the upcoming events. read more

My daughter went to RGC for three years--two taking regular classes and one on their competitive team. She started when she was 10 and is now 13. It's easy to look at all the first place trophies and banners on the walls and think that means this place is high quality. It's easy to look at their website with all the smiling faces and think the same thing. But, the problem with this is that it is a lie. In my opinion, based on our three years of experience, the owner only cares about making money. This is a business and the girls are just numbers/dollars. I should have known when the red flags began piling up, but my daughter was having fun so I chose to ignore them. That's on me, but my hope is to share what I've seen and learned so you don't make the same mistakes. One big red flag is that it's practically impossible to actually speak to the owner. She has no direct phone number or email address. Everything has to go through the front office person or the coaches, which gives her lots of plausible deniability allowing her to claim to never get information or be aware of issues. What this means is you have basically no way of communicating problems with the owner. Sandy claims to care, but if she did she would make herself available for parents to talk to directly and she doesn't. Another red flag is that Sandy is practically never on site. (Or to clarify, to the best of my knowledge she has never been on site at the same time as I have over the last three years and I've been there a lot.) She regularly leaves everything in the hands of her young staff & coaches, who by the way do not have to be background checked or finger printed. There is NO STATE MONITORING OR OVERSIGHT BOARD of gymnastics businesses. This means Sandy can hire "coaches" with minimal gymnastics teaching experience or qualifications. Again, based on my experience RGC has significant safety issues. The coach to kid ratio is very high, even for the little kids. I personally watched a little kid run away from their class, out the front door and into the parking lot without the coach even noticing. I had to tell the coach who then ran after the kid, but then she left the 10+ other little kids with no supervision. Additionally, they regularly open their big garage style doors along the back of the gym. They only place a small chain across it, which offers no safety protection for the little kids. They can easily run right outside into the alley where cars drive by. In fact, my daughter saw a little kid sit on that chain, fall backwards and cracked her skull open. A kid could easily run right out and get hit by a car. Multiple times my daughter and her teammates were told by coaches to push through the pain and do skills even when they were hurt and injured. Just this year a girl broke her arm in two places at practice and required surgery, another slipped doing a floor activity hitting her head causing a major concussion. Both girls had to go to the ER, and to the best of my knowledge neither girl returned to RGC after their injuries. Another girl hit her head and had the wind knocked out of her after she fell off the bars. Her head hurt afterwards and a coach told her she couldn't just sit and rest. She forced her to keep practicing. A second teammate told a coach her back hurt from an injury and she couldn't do any skills using her back, but the coach ignored her and told her she had to do them anyway. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is that seeing what I have seen, and my daughter has experienced, Sandy doesn't actually care about making sure the kids are safe. In my opinion, safety takes a back seat to profit. She claims otherwise, but our experiences speak louder than her words. Knowing what I do now, I would never enroll my daughter at this gym. It isn't safe. I highly encourage you to find somewhere else for your child to learn gymnastics. Gymnastics is a dangerous sport, but based on our personal experience this business makes it even more so. read more

I was expecting my daughter to learn how to do a cartwheel and she never learned how. She attended Redlands Gymnastics Club for about 11 months, but the classes weren't really structured. I noticed that the coaches didn't give enough attention to the kids when they were completely their exercises at their stations to ensure that they were doing them correctly. It gets crowded and sometimes it challenging to find a chair. Fair warning, the chairs are hard and uncomfortable. However, I did like the flexibility of cancelling and rescheduling your classes through their website. read more

My daughter has been attending RGC for the past eight years and has been part of the competitive team for seven of those years. We've had a consistently positive experience--not just with the coaching, but also with the overall atmosphere and communication. First and foremost, RGC is part of AAU Gymnastics, and all coaches are required to undergo background checks. The claim that coaches are unqualified or unchecked is completely false. They couldn't be part of the program without passing those checks. Over the years, we've found the coaches to be knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely invested in the safety and growth of each child. Yes, like any sport that involves physically demanding skills, injuries can happen. That's part of gymnastics, whether you're at a small-town gym or an elite training center. What the previous reviewer failed to acknowledge is that these athletes are working on high-level, challenging skills. Accidents can happen anywhere, and it's not a reflection of the gym being unsafe--it's the nature of the sport. As for Sandy, the owner, she has always made it clear during team parent meetings that she is not typically present during team hours. That is not a secret or a red flag--it's the structure of her business. She has trained and trusted staff in place for day-to-day operations, which is normal for any business owner. She is reachable through the front office and via email, and any concerns we've had were addressed when brought to her attention. What's unfortunate is that some people choose to air grievances publicly without even attempting to have a direct conversation with her. It's disheartening to see one-sided reviews that don't reflect the experience of many of the families here. RGC has been a second home to my daughter, and she has grown so much under the guidance of the coaches--not just as a gymnast, but as a young woman gaining confidence, discipline, and resilience. Before forming an opinion based on a negative review, I'd encourage other parents to visit the gym, talk to the staff and other families, and see the environment for themselves. My daughter has done gymnastics here for a bit now, and she is definitely learning a lot. As far as the teachers and skill game goes, this place is good. My only issue with it is the seating situation for parents. The seats are all folding chairs, and it's not particularly comfortable. You're all the way to the entry side of the gym, so if your children are practicing at the back of the gym, you really can't see them very well. The chairs upfront are up against the wall separating from the area, so it's not very comfortable for your legs either. If the seating was better, this would probably be five stars. read more

Do not allow your child to go onto the map without you as the parent being present. My kid moved up in the program where the parents didn't have to be out there with them. I insisted that I go out there with him still, as my child would not go without me. I tried to go away off of the map, and my child proceeded to follow me as he didn't want me to leave. As my child was walking toward me with me only being a foot or two away from him one of the instructors proceeded to grab him and yank him back hard. I walked back toward my child and the instructor was holding my child aggressively not allowing him to come to me. I moved towards my child I told the instructor to never grab my child like that again, as my child was crying from the pain that the instructor caused on his arm. The instructor just stated that it's our policy to grab the child when the parents are not on the mat to keep them safe. I told them I understood that, however I am and was on the mat with my child and they still yanked him causing him harm and causing him to be terrified. The instructors I also noticed talk very harshly to the when the parents are not on the mat. The instructors for the parent participation are really nice, however the instructors beyond that are harsh and mean towards the kids and do not treat them kindly, do not let your kids out of your sight no matter what age or group their in as these instructors will cause emotional and physical harm to your child. I even has to tell the instructors multiple times that if the parents knew how they were talking to their kids no kid would be participating in Redlands Gymnastics. For your own sake, stay as far away from this place as you can. read more

We LOVE Redlands gymnastics club! We live a bit far from the location but we absolutely will continue to drive out there for classes and come and play on Wednesday. My daughter is a pandemic baby and this has helped my daughter become very social and is developmentally ahead with her social and motor skills. This place overall is okay, however I would NEVER recommend this place to someone I care about...Sandy the owner has no consideration when it comes down to it, she will pick money. My issue with the place is the owner and how it is ran. Number 1 is safety issues, the list could go on but mainly the coaches don't care to sanitize the mats the kids are on every class, and the coaches in training are literally learning by each class so there have been MANY instances with safety. Number two is the coaches, they are I'm sure background checked but barely. Some of the coaches are amazing like Gema who actually care about the kids but some are not even trying and even rude to the children I personally have been told by my kid and other parents children that the coaches can be rude to the kids and not playful. Children need fun coaches who can coach effectively without being rude. Lastly is the management, Sandy is rude, money hungry, and careless. With my countless interactions and other parents I've spoken too, she ignores emails and communication, uses convenient excuses, and overall doesn't practice what she preaches. The actual gymnastics these kids are learning are basic and the only thing that changes is the theme each week! Not the worst if you let ur kid do this for fun and are looking for a last resort, but even then its not even worth the money and the tricks for money they add without saying!!!!!!!! We had a good experience until we're were not able to receive timely communication from the gym about canceling our services. I reached out in December to cancel my membership and did not receive a call or a email. There was no follow up. I started receiving emails about a balance. I called and left two voicemails for someone to return my call. Now today I received a text message. I called and got through. I am being told I am still expecting to pay for a service that I never received or was able to take advantage of. This is just bad business. To have anyone pay for a service they did not use. We're at this gym for over a year. They are a strong, established gym that does not need to squeeze money out of old members. Disappointed is all. If you need to cancel or have any emergency's communicate in the gym at the facilities. They want you to use parent portal. The follow up and follow through is poor and at the gyms convenience. Here I am personally three months later dealing with an issue that is not worth time or stress. All could've been avoided with better communication but I have paid the gym. They have their money. We were initially referred to RGC by a friend. Our daughter (now 2 years old) at the time of joining the Parent Participation class was only 17 months old. She immediately fell in love with the incredible coaches and explored her heart out with all the fun obstacles, bars, trampolines and mats. We have seen so much progress and improvement in her motor skills due to her participation in gymnastics. Her balance improves more each week and she takes her learnings home as she finds new ways to climb (safely), jump and get creative with setting up her own obstacle courses. As much as we enjoy the activities and have a blast, perhaps her favorite part of RGC is going to visit "Miss Cat" and "Miss Megan". She tells everyone about them and truly feels connected. I don't have experience with a whole lot of other gymnastic clubs but I will say this place is the best in the area from what I have hear about other places. We have had our daughter here for 4 years and she LOVES LOVES LOVES going. The "teachers" or staff are so great with all the kids. Literally they hire the best young staff out there. We have dropped her off for the summer camp days and the winter camp days and parents night out, so we have tried it all. We are moving and will miss this place. Our final experience here was for my daughters Birthday. Excellent experience. At first I was hesitant because the price seemed kind of expensive, also we purchased an additional 30 minutes which cost a little more over the typical birthday setup but WOW what a great experience. All the kids that came ranged from 2-7 years old and the staff was excellent. They assisted all the littles, and made sure everyone was having fun, even wrapped up with some special moments with the parachute. You can tell the trainers working here love their job and love these kids. Great work RGC. read more

My 2 year old LOVES Tumble Tots at RGC - youngest group possible. Pretty wide range of skills in our group, from just little littles like mine and the more mature and practiced kiddos so don't worry about how "good" your kid is. The coaches are fun and easy going. My daughter has never been to a traditional "class" setting before (thank you 2020) and even though she's not willing or able to participate in the more "structured" aspects of the class, she loves the free play. The coaches are happy to encourage her in whatever way she's able to participate. The classes are 45 minutes each, once a week. We're happy to have found a gym for our girl! read more

We recently had my daughter's birthday party here and we were so impressed! Our party hosts were amazing- they unloaded our car, helped us decorate, set up the tables, and asked us about our desired schedule for the party. During the free play time, my daughter requested a game, and the party host quickly jumped up and organized a game for all the guests. I love this place my daughter has learned how to walk, talk and be socializing. I love how now they are teaching them to seat and wait there turn. All the teachers there are awesome. My 7 year old daughter started attending classes here. She absolutely loves it, and I do too. All the instructors are very nice, helpful and patient with all the girls. My daughter loved Redlands gymnastics club. The instructors are all very sweet and the kids get good exercise. My only complaint is that there's not a huge amount of discipline and structure so, for a child like mine who gets distracted easily, I felt like there was too much time spent allowing the kids to do their own thing without individual attention being paid to them.
