We were about to go to another restaurant but they were closed ( Said in Yelp they were open and on website ) It was a blessing in disguise; we came upon 4 Little Pigs. Seen some fellas sitting on a bench outside and asked where the best catfish restaurant is at. They said right here! It's a small diner type place with good sitting available in another room. We got a table for 8 and a child. We were promptly seated and waited on; we all were here yet but ordered drinks. No alcohol here but that's okay! Others arrived and we started off placing orders. After we ordered we had to opportunity to visit and discuss our day activities. Now from the time we checked in there was this trickle new customers coming in at a nice steady rate. This became a bit of a problem; we did have to wait awhile for our food to come out; so refills were being done! They did keep apologizing and finally said your food is being prepared. Finally our food came out and looked delicious. The appearance was good but it was second to the taste and decent size portions. Several of us just wanted catfish; boy this place did not disappoint. Our waitress Reese was awesome and did a nice job on taking care of us; The only hiccup was my wife didn't get her baked potato; which probably was more than she'd be able to eat but they addressed a credit for that item. Catfish was outstanding, great breading and taste. If ever in the area definitely will stop back in. There were food choices for everyone, vegan items and regular. If we were in area, probably would have come back for a breakfast This is definitely a diamond in the rough! Stop in if you're in the area. I was really wanting to like this place. The best I can give it, is three stars. I had a pulled pork sandwich which was warm, but not hot. The meat was I would say average as far as pulled pork goes. There unique BBQ sauce doesn't really appeal to my palette, and I did not see no other BBQ options on the table. This is one of those places that's been here for a while and it shows. The interior looks like it's straight out of the 70s. Not that there is anything wrong with vintage or retro but it kind of reminds you of a 70s sitcom, like Flo's diner or something. I would also give it a 3 on cleanliness, it wasn't filthy but it could have been much better. Next time I have a craving for barbecue, I will look somewhere else. read more

This was the first restaurant I ate at after moving to Benton earlier this year. I was quite surprised with this restaurant for a couple reasons. First, smoking is allowed, but there is a section for it. Second, you need to pay with cash, and luckily, I happened to have enough cash on me for the meal. This is 2012 so I wasn't expecting these issues, and I'm pretty disappointed because the food and service was good! I likely won't be going back, especially when there is another good BBQ restaurant nearby that doesn't share these issues. read more

After visiting a few BBQ joints in Kentucky I saw a few similarities and a few things that need improvement. The actual building is close to its service - a little dirty and at times cold. The tables were dirty when arriving and the service wasn't bad but wasn't good either. Most employees seemed confused as what they had to offer for the day. However, the food is the saving grace as the pulled pork (the only meat available) was good but the sweet potato and broccoli casseroles are a tasty variety not offered at many establishments. With a few simple improvements they can be a solid 3 star, but they're a 2 for what I experienced. If it was a drive thru or eat-on-the-curb spot, the score would be better. read more

We really used to love this place but had to stop going because my mother would gag on the smoke. We hadn't been back in years until long after management changed. On the upside new management made it full non smoking but the food quality is meh at best & service is just awful. However with Hutchin's closing they'll probably boom in business which is sad. read more

we went there based on the Motorcycle Tourers Forum Ride to Eat. it was homey and small town like. very friendly folks! Firstly I want to say the service was very good, the owner was there and very polite. I did find it odd that they didn't take credit or debit in this day and age ( studies show that accepting these forms of payments actually increase sales 20-30%) far out waying the cost of the service. You can even do it on a smart phone (Squareup.com) The owner told us it was all about the sauce! I had the pulled pork, it was cooked well didn't have much flavor not much seasoning. I just went in and ordered a large Barbeque Sandwich and Ice Tea to go. When I got to my office and opened the bag, my sandwich only had a bottom bun, no top bun. My tea had no ice. I called back to complain and was put on hold. 4 Pigs just lost me as a customer. read more
