Husband and I just popped in on our way to the lake, and we are so happy we did. Tiny little hidden gem, what it lacked in decor it made up for with terrific, on point and kind service coupled with tasty BBQ. The menu is small but mighty. Never been disappointed here. Have visited here several times throughout the years the food is always good and the price point. The service was good and it was also fast. The only improvement I would recommend is maybe it's time to refresh the inside a bit as it's slowly becoming worn from all the repeat business. Which isn't a bad thing. The best smoked brisket, pork , chicken or ribs in the area. We have tried all the local places around here and none compare to the food here. The smoked brisket is my favorite, they will give you nice thick slices that are smoked perfect, and believe me I am pickey. Like BBQ, then this is the place to get it around the area. read more

We stopped in on a road trip from STL to Orlando. Cute, clean little town. The restaurant has a smaller parking lot but our truck and 36' trailer fit without a problem. The place wasn't busy when we came in on a Saturday. To eat I got the BBQ Nachos with Mack chips and baked beans. I also added potato salad. He got the Mack Daddy which is a pork and brisket and got beans and Cole slaw on the side. Portions were small. The sides honestly tasted store bought, but were good. The Mack chips on the nachos were really good and had a yummy seasoning on them. Overall, was ok, but left hungry. read more

The reviews make this place sound good. Terrible is about all I can say. The ribs were mostly fat, a layer of liquid grease on the bottom of the plate. My wife told our server about the fat, and her response was maybe they'll be better next time. It was though the ribs were par boiled and baked. The brisket was not fork tender by any means. Not terribly tough, but not the texture of a well cooked brisket . Very limited amount of side choices (cole slaw was fine). They have a sign out front listing a bunch of awards they've won at various places. Based on what we ate, they had to be the only contestant.. Not worth the money. When the server is asked what she recommends and she says the nachos, this is not a BBQ joint. read more

Food is ALWAYS yummy and you can get bbq sauce that is NOT spicy. Most restaurants now assume everyone wants everything spicy (I guess these other places have to spice it up to cover up the tasteless food) Not J- Mac's! You don't even need sauce !! Service is ALWAYS prompt and courteous. read more

Stopped by on my way through town and grabbed a quick bit to eat. Everyone was super friendly here. I let them know I was pretty hungry so they recommended the loaded tater, it did not disappoint! The pulled pork had a really nice clean smoke that wasn't overpowering and complimented the bbq sauce really well. Fantastic BBQ. They say award winning and I believe it. I was waited on by Christian, and he was a fine example of fine southern hospitality. It was near closing and the Ribs had sold out (sign you are at a good spot) so I got the Pulled Pork Plate. Turns out that was the last plate of that too. Very good BBQ. Smoke flavor was perfect and it was very tender. The sauce is "Push ya Granny in the Creek Good" (And I love my granny). Oh and the sweet tea!!! Shhooowwwweee it was good. REAL SOUTHERN SWEET TEA! Tastes are subjective. My ribs tasted a little underdone. The homemade chips were very salty. The people were great.
