Years…read more However, whether it was Covid or being absorbed into Luminis, they have become busy enough that good care only exists if you are lucky or very important. They are scheduling out anywhere from 2-6 weeks for appointments. Diagnoses for care are made at the scheduling level at times therefore restricting your care options. Calls for appointments, even recommended by a practice physician, require you to leave a message, so if you receive a call from scheduling TAKE it, and cancel everything including work to make whatever appointment they offer. This will provide your best opportunity for successful treatment. My first visit on this most recent issue was diagnosed based on X-rays and MRIs that were taken at least a year ago. 9 weeks later I still have no resolution to my questions or the pain that I experience on a daily basis. If you can find responsive care outside of this practice or any of its sister locations I highly recommend it at this point.

The place was clean and well organized and my instructor asked many questions to get a feel of my condition. I was surprised to be subjected to so many reps and sets to different exercises on the first visit. The next few days I was hurting and not happy with that fact. My hope was to learn what exercises I needed and the proper way to execute them rather than over doing it on my first visit. Decided to forget about traveling to a PT location and come up with my own exercise plan and perform them at my own pace in the comfort of my home which I've done since that first visit and it's working out well. I learn more using Google and watching YouTube videos and no traveling anywhere and no co-pays to Medicare! Maybe going to PT will work out for you but I wasn't for me. Your mileage may vary!

I have requested my medical records about 3 weeks ago and after numerous calls to the records person and the office manager, I am not getting anywhere. I need my records and they won't release them. They told me they will mail them and I still don't have them. The office is a joke. I am not going back there because I can't and won't deal with the staff. It has really gone downhill.

It seems that the office triple and quadruple book patience at the same time for the same doctor. After waiting for over an hour without being seen or informed of a status, I inquired about being seen and complained about the long wait. I ended up leaving without being seen by Dr. Joly. I find it disrespectful for doctors to book multiple patients for the same time slot,and have their patience waiting on average longer than 1 hour. Healthcare providers need to understand the importance of respecting their patients by allocating adequate time, and seeing them in a timely fashion. Keeping patients waiting longer than an hour is unacceptable and disrespectful. When more people stop doing business with providers that are disrespectful, only then can things improve in the industry. Don't support this office by allow them to schedule patience and maintain an average wait time of over 1 hour.

Update: I decided to leave around 2:10 PM. I went to the front desk to reschedule for an early morning appointment so that I will be sure to be seen at a reasonable time. I have been coming to the Bowie Office Probably Over 10 years! I have to admit, there are times when I have had to hold for 10 minutes but I have never experience the rudeness or disrespect. What I have experienced is calling my doctor at the beginning of Covid19 because I was very sick. However because I did not have a high temp (my norm runs about 95, I was at 100 for me, it was high.) I was not considered a priority at the ER! I called my Dr. at MPC in Bowie, who told me to come to the back door, took my temp, took the nose swab and sent me back to the ER with a note! I was told, don't read-it, give it straight to check-in. I don't know what it said but I was finally tested and had Covid. I know, when I was a new patient and saw my Dr. I was given labs early afternoon which included blood work. My doctor, read my labs and left a message that I needed to come back to the office and she would wait for me. I got the message after 7pm but went by. I was pre-diabetic and she wanted me to have medication on the cruise. See she remembered a previous conversations about me trying new deserts when I cruise. I can call my Dr., send messages for my mom, dad or myself and get answers or appointments. BTW - she/they treat my parents and my husband. There have been changes with the staff but I have no doubt, it will be corrected. They take great care of us.
