Came here for dinner while staying at the casino. I ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and a side salad. The wife got the chili cheese fries. The fried chicken was crispy and juicy but could have used a little more seasoning. The mashed potatoes and gravy were awesome. The chili cheese fries were also great. We were traveling from Virginia to Arizona. Were traveling 12 hours a day to get back home for Christmas. we were very travel weary and needed a good meal to push us through. I find this on GPS, called to place a take out order (we were traveling with a pet, so we couldn't eat in). They were wonderful from start to finish. The service was great and the food was wonderful. However, the staff was welcoming and we didn't know until everyone left that they were closing. It did take a while with the mass exodus to get our drinks and orders in but after ward went well. The portions are huge and served hot and fresh. The fried pickles are next level. Big huge fried pickles with the good house made ranch. Huge thick ham was tender and delicious. The grilled chopped sirloin, or hamburger steak as I call it, was big, and delicious. Brown gravy was standard run of the mill from a can stuff but paired well with the grilled onions and meat. Solid fried shrimp meal as well. We haven't eaten here in years but decided to stop in because of how late it was and thought they would be open later. I think we'll be back more often. read more

When we travel down Interstate 40 we always try to include a stop at this out of the way diner. It isn't healthy but it is very good with very good service. We always get pie after our meal. Today we decided to have breakfast for lunch and got pies to go for later. The breakfast was a basic bacon and eggs and ham and eggs. All cooked just the way we ordered them.
