I'm only giving 4 stars because I wast 100% satisfied with the results I got. My hair looked just fine right after my haircut, but just a couple of days later you could see some sloppy areas. My impression is that my stylist specializes in females and didn't have that much experience dealing with some men hairstyles. So, I won't be going back, but my wife is and I feel comfortable recommending it as one of the best hair salons in town for women.

Joyce gave me a super short, super cute pixie and figures one or two more haircuts and the bad dye job will just be a bad memory. I love the haircut and even like looking a little punk with the two tone pixie! Excellent service, clean and nicely decorated salon, reasonably priced. So happy to find my new go-to salon and hair cutter in Ithaca!

She looks at your hair, your face shape, and you always leave with the best haircut you've ever had. When she washes your hair, she puts you on another planet, she really listens when you tell her what you want, and her presence is very relaxing. As soon as I sat in her chair for my hair trial, I knew I was in good hands. I hadn't had my hair done since my senior prom and every blowout I've ever had disappears in a matter of hours. Needless to say, I was a total newbie to getting styled. I had some vague instructions/inspiration pictures, but Kristin really listened to me and offered her expertise when it was clear I really wasn't sure of my vision. During the trial, she tried out a couple different things and listened to me when I told her to use way more hairspray than she thought was necessary. I expected her to be on my a** for clear instructions for my bridesmaids, but she never pressured me to make decisions I didn't want to and was totally flexible to tailor each girl's style on the day-of without compromising on time. Even when someone in my party went MIA and threw off the timeline, Kristin kept her cool and pivoted to make the most of the time. We went in on a Sunday, so Kristin let us take over her studio so we could hang out together, get dressed, blast music, and eat snacks. She was a gracious host and even let our traveling makeup artists set up shop in her chairs. The space is also super funky and I am elated with how the pictures came out. As for the finished product - I could have cried. I felt like an absolute princess surrounded by a all of my fairy godmothers. My hair was better than I could have imagined because she was not afraid to use her judgement to create something she knew would be beautiful. She also deviated a bit (in the best way) from what we had done at the trial, which told me she was being very thoughtful and not just using muscle memory to play it safe. For one Julie has an amazing personality and a great staff. She makes you feel welcomed and the center of the universe. The hair washing or scalp massage you get in the beginning I dare you not to fall asleep. It is incredibly relaxing. And Julie came up with a style that accentuates my jaw line and the natural waves in my hair. So here I am a year later and I needed a haircut.
