I've had Morgan do my hair for the last two years. She both cuts and does Balyage for me. I absolutely love the way it looks! Amazing!

Do not get laser hair removal here, it is both over priced and needlessly painful. Previously back…read morehome I was getting lasering on my face and neck for $40 per treatment. There was slight to no pain, it was over in 1-2 mins and any inflammation disappeared by the end of the day. It was gorgeous, clean, and knowledgeable while this looked like somewhere I'd get a regretful back tattoo. On the topic of tattoos, I have plenty, on my arms, back, collar bone, and not a single one of those compared to the pain I felt here. As a matter of fact even breaking my leg or toe and walking / running on them was more bearable than this. The only pain worse than this was when my appendix ruptured. Regardless I sucked it up, and dealt with the pain (and smell of my burned face which is a uniquely awful and disgusting smell btw). There was apparently no way to turn down the Candella settings or she simply didn't care. When I finished there was definitely a moment of shock on her face, perhaps at the fact that I looked like I'd had acid poured on my skin. She sprayed some sunscreen on (which burned and also not a single spray spf is FDA approved in the United States because they mostly don't offer full or completely needed spf coverage). I paid and was sent on my merry way. It cost $215.00 not including tip... $215.00 for the worst pain imaginable. The best part, is this is simply the precursor to the fact that now 5 days later my face is STILL erupting in red, swollen cystic acne and burns, with no signs of slowing down. I'm Asian, so I also know my skin if it does ever heal will be covered in dark marks / spots (post inflammatory hyper pigmentation) that I will then have to spend $100's-$1000's of dollars to get rid of either through more treatments OR topical products. Every other Derm and Esthi I have talked to / facetimed to show the now lunar landscape that is my face has an audible gasp and cringe. I used to have good skin, my job involves me being on camera, and now my face is so screwed up I have barely left my house in 5 days, and am embarrassed to be around any other human being. As someone who had previously gotten FIVE rounds of laser and never had a problem, this is a particularly awful experience, and now I am forced to deal with intense pain, and semi-permanent scarring. Do Not Get Laser here, I promise you the pain is not worth it, at all. PS: I'd just like to throw in stop trying to sell people the coffee scrub too, the claims made about it on the website aren't even scientifically or biologically possible... No activated charcoal does not "make your pores smaller" (that's actually physically impossible!) nor does it "suck out dirt or toxins" re: There is "little to no" evidence to substantiate the claims skincare companies are making, according to a July 2019 article by researchers at the University of Miami. Beyond that, they write, the use of activated charcoal in skincare products is unregulated. Because these products don't claim to treat or cure a diagnosable medical condition, the FDA isn't forced to regulate what goes in them or how else they advertise themselves. - https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0738081X19301361 Further claiming it can help cellulite is also a BS claim, the only scientifically proven procedures involve lasers, liposuctions, or cryofreezing application. "No over-the-counter remedy has been shown to be effective in treating cellulite. That includes creams marketed to cure cellulite that have ingredients such as caffeine, antioxidants and herbal supplements," -- Dr. Dawn Davis, Dermatology, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota Maybe I'm the idiot for not doing my due diligence, and reading reviews vs seeing a website chockfull of pseudo science, but either way I cannot express emphatically enough how horrible this experience has been. If you have scars (which if you go here you most likely will) a scrub wont fix your face, at least not the coffee scrub in a plastic bag. Alpha Hydroxy, Beta Hydroxy, or Poly Hydroxy acids, Vitamin C, or topical Retinoids are your best bet.

RE Dancinpresident W: Think it's a little unfair for you to…read morejudge and post a review about a business that you personally had no interaction with. I, on the other hand did have multiple conversations with the bride you're referring to. I understand that when people are unhappy or stressed they tend to focus on all the negativity and you do not have an accurate account of our interaction with her. We had 1 stylist available on this holiday weekend to do hair ONLY. (The rest of us were booked because other brides called further in advance for a holiday weekend wedding) That was made very clear to her from the start. We told her WE would try to find a makeup artist for her, even went out of MY way to contact multiple people. Remember, this was a holiday weekend and I was having no luck. I gave her the names of other salons that might be able to accommodate her, as well as individual names. The stylist that was originally booked to do the hair did have a family issue. Her grandmother needed round the clock care due to an accident and her dementia. She passed away in this time period. So you're accusation is NOT valid. You should never judge when you don't know the facts. I'm also sure that I did finally find a very qualified makeup artist that I sent to her after I learned that she had booked a hair stylist. I gave all her information to the girl and she was the new contact. I didn't even know this bride but went out of MY way..above and beyond to help her as much as possible. I guess in hind sight I should've just said NO, we can't do anything. We have an excellent reputation, especially when it comes to wedding parties and professionalism. Clearly your review won't affect that, but you should know the whole story if you're gonna take the time to post. By the way...I still have all the emails (10) from your friend (the bride) and she was more than thankful for my help from day one. I also have the many emails I sent to other stylists and makeup artists in our area, looking for someone to help her out. If you'd like copies, I'd be happy to forward them to you.

I recently got married in Ithaca NY and this is where my bridal party got their hair and makeup…read moredone. We had a pretty early wedding (at 11am) and needed to get 8 of us through hair and makeup so we had to find a place that would start at 7am! Some sleuthing led us to Hair Etc (another option was Transfomations but they were a bit out of our price range) and we're so happy with the service we received. In my bridal party we had a number of girls waiver on the amount of services they wanted (mostly wanting to add makeup/upgrade to updos) and Bridget was wonderful about working with me to make sure we had enough stylists there to accommodate everyone. Bridget was responsible for both my updo and my sister's updo as my maid of honor. There were both awesome curly updos just as we requested and we received many compliments throughout the day! They also withstood hours of dancing at the reception (and when I say dancing this includes lots of rocking to Springsteen). It may have taken 40 minutes to take my hair our, but it was totally worth it for a hairdo that could withstand over 12 hours of wedding festivities. In general my bridal party tends not to wear a lot of makeup, so we did need to request a more natural look for some of the bridesmaids and myself (the default was to a more heavily defined eye), but they were good at encouraging us to go a little further with the makeup (with the help of our photographer) and I was really happy with the results! They really let us take over the salon that morning, even setting up a table for us to have coffee and scones laid out for breakfast. Towards the end of our primping there were a few other customers, so it wasn't fully private, but they did make sure to have us completely done and out of there by 10am to head up to the chapel. I would definitely recommend Hair Etc to any bride in the Ithaca area looking for affordable quality service!

As I had a wedding coming up (and was new to the area), so I was a little lost on things like where to get my dress tailored, what Salons could handle large bridal parties and such. Laura was willing to take the time to give me suggestions from her years of experience in Ithaca!! Needless to say all of her recommendations were right on. But that's just the extras - I have now had both my hair cut and waxing done with Laura (2-3 times each). The hair cuts were really good, and she's great at taking practicality into the mix when cutting your hair. For example, I'm someone who likes to blow dry my hair only on occasion and then only do minimal styling. She took all of that into account and gave me a great haircut that could be worn naturally or with my novice level of styling (instead of giving me a really cute style that I could never hope to recreate on my own as I've often gotten before). As for waxing, she manages to keep a constant stream of friendly chatting going through the whole process so that you don't have time to think about the potential pain coming your way. As someone mentioned in a previous review - the perfect balance of professional and friendly while being very thorough! I would highly recommend the 410 Salon!!

She also had a lot of suggestions for things like facial hair removal and discoloration (which weren't a part of her facial). What I loved most was she says it like it is, and does not sugarcoat your situation. This way you know exactly what to work on.
