On March 3rd of this year the western suburbs of Kansas City including my city of Shawnee suffered a hail storm that caused widespread and extensive damage to cars, home siding, and roofs over several square miles. After the storm, my neighborhood was flooded with sales flyers and sales persons offering their roofing services. I was fortunate to have Whitney Coulter, owner of 435 Roofing referred to me by a friend. I contacted Whitney and from the very beginning I was impressed by his professionalism and knowledge. Whitney worked with my insurance adjuster to ensure that I received a fair settlement from my insurance company. Once that was completed, Whitney provided me with a detailed, typed written contract for replacing my roof at what considered to be a very fair price. Because the Kansas City area is prone to experiencing spring time hail storms, I postponed having the roof replaced until recently so that I would not encounter a second insurance claim this year if my luck was bad. On morning of my roof replacement, one of Whitney roofing crews arrived at 7:00 am and went to work. This eight-man crew had the old shingles removed before 9:00 am and started in on installing the new roof. I was very impressed at how organized this roofing crew was and how well they worked together. I have several peaks and valleys on my roof design so this made it more difficult for them to install. Saying that, they completed the installation, including cleaning up by 4:30 that afternoon. During the day Whitney as well as his site supervisor stopped by to ensure that all was going well. The next morning Whitney stop by to pick up a couple of items that the roofing crew had left for him. While he was here I pointed out a couple of small items that I wanted him to correct. I could not believe it, Whitney had one of crew members stop by and take care of my concerns in less than 24 hours!! A couple of days later Whitney stopped by for my payment and provided me with a receipt that included his company ten-year installation warranty. Whitney also informed me that he would submit the registration to the shingle manufacturer for their warranty for me. A couple of days later I received the warranty coverage document from the manufacturer for my 50 year roof warranty. 435 Roofing repaired ice damming damage to my roof this past winter and did a wonderful job. Today Lloyd Lantz came out to analyze a new problem on a different part of the roof. While he was on the roof he sealed up nail holes and other potential problem areas. He thought my problem was a fluke caused by the heavy rains we have experienced. He recommended spraying a solution of half-water and half-bleach on the water stains on the ceiling (he said to hold a towel underneath while spraying to catch the drips, spray the stains thoroughly, and repeat if necessary to lift the stains). What a nice inexpensive alternative to repainting. He said to keep an eye on the ceiling and offered suggestions on how to proceed if the problem does reoccur, explaining which options would be the most cost effective. He documented everything so that there would be a record in the event further action is required. He did not charge me anything for his efforts and advice today. 435 is great! I recently had an absolutely awful experience with a different roofing company trying to get a repair. I finally gave up on them. After reading some good reviews I called 435 Roofing. 435 and Lloyd completely surpassed all expectations. Lloyd was able to find time in his schedule to fit me in between jobs the very same day I spoke with him! After assessing the roof I assumed he would draw up an expensive bid and schedule a repair weeks out. Instead, Lloyd jumped back on the roof and made the repairs himself. The final price was generously fair. Obviously I had a simple repair. But 435 charged $700 less than the other company. The other guys took 3 weeks just to show up at my door to write a bid and were all around awful. 435 came right away and fixed my issue the same day! Lloyd was friendly, respectful, and truthful. I had a leak in my roof, into my dormer. I was told by another company that it would cost 3000.00 to fix the pitch of my roof (the roof is only 3 years old!) I was extremely dismayed. I called 435 roofing to get a another opinion and to confirm what the problem is, basically to get a second opinion. And I am so glad I did. Lloyd came out in less than 24 hours-- which was incredible since I know how busy the industry is right now. He was very detailed, took several photos to show me all the areas where water could get in from poor sealing; even pointing out structural concerns in how the roof was laid in a few areas that I really needed to know about. He fixed it all for a very reasonable price! He wore a mask and went to extra lengths to explain everything thouroughly to me. Honest and reasonably priced. I can't say enough about 435 Roofing. After wind came through and displaced my shingles, I had no idea who to call. A friend's father and 2 random people at a bar all recommended 435 Roofing. I called and Whitney Coulter came out to do a patch job while we waiting for the insurance to process. Having never dealt with something like this, Whitney was extremely patient with me and answered my 100 questions. The roofers he sent were friendly and professional. They were on time in the morning and were finished before 4pm. Their cleanup was very thorough and included running a large magnet over the grass to catch any nails. I appreciate that very much. I noticed some minor water damage so I called Lloyd at 435roofing to inspect my roof. Lloyd Lantz came out to my house, checked out the minor interior damage and gave me some good tips on how to deal with it in an inexpensive manner. He then went up on the roof and found some minor issues. Lloyd spent about 45 minutes on my roof doing some minor repairs and then inspected the rest of the roof for me. He took several pictures to show me what the problem had been and what he did to correct it. When he was finished and I asked him how much I owed he said "Nothing, just write me a good review and remember me if you or your friends need roof work done." Unbelievable! I recently had a service call performed by 435 Roofing. I believe the technician's name was Lloyd. Let me just say that Llloyd is the man! I talked to him over the phone before he came out to the house and he diagnosed the source of a leak problem I was having in my attic. He attributed the problem to an elbow joint in my vent piping. He advised me to purchased PVC glue in advance of his visit. That way when he got up in the attic to confirm the source of the leak he could go ahead and fix it. He was on time (in fact early),knowledgeable and professional. Most importantly he showed great joy and pride in his job. Refreshing by today's standards. I have a flat roof over the dormer bedroom on my house that had some pretty good damage after a serious wind-storm. I called needing a quick repair 1 day before a 3-day storm was moving in. Lloyd gave me an extremely reasonable estimate on the full repair and got his crew out to my house asap to get the emergency repair done that day to protect my house from leaks and other damage. He wanted no money until the actual repair was completed. As soon as weather permitted, he had his crew back out to make the actual repairs on an extremely old roof (where i am positive they ran into more than they planned). Well that wasn't so bad!!! I had a lovely leak on my kitchen ceiling. I called Whitney who was referred to me. He could come out in a few days, worked with my schedule, and was on time (actually early). He checked over the entire area where we thought the leak was, and he was very thorough checking things out. He didn't try to sell me on more costly solutions that were not necessary. He came up with a solution and took care of it why he was here. He also fixed a gutter for me that was falling away from the roof line. Came out and walked the whole roof measured and provided a great quote. While he was here he mentioned that the boots around a couple of my vents were completely gone (rotted out) took some pictures and showed me how bad it was (I cant believe that I don't have spots on my ceiling) I had Lloyd replace the boots and will have 435 Roofing do my complete roof. Lloyd provided me with photos showing the exact location and extent of the damage. 435 Roofing also offers a 5-year workmanship warranty on repairs. I saw 435 roofing review in yelp and decided to give 435 a try. I am very glad that I did. We just got our roof repair done today. Price was reasonable and he had his guys do some extra caulking and repair and did not charge me extra for it. My house has vinyl siding but the wood trim around the roof is not wrapped. Whitney took the time to explain to me what additional vinyl work is critical and what is not critical to protect the house. He does not do siding and when I asked him, he gave me a reference and texted me the description to help describe what needs to be done. Overall a very pleasant experience. read more
