I stumbled upon Farm Girl's account, and was happy to see Kingston had a food truck. Down here in NOLA, along with most of the US, it's kind of a thing. Of course, I grew up in Kingston, so I know they don't usually like to follow trends. On the other hand, we always had "chip trucks," so maybe Kingston actually started the food truck trend. Oh, I'm so confused now.... so back to Farm Girl. I had an upcoming trip to Kingston to visit family, so I made sure to track down Farm Girl during the visit. My brother, his girlfriend, my daughter and myself all came by on a weekday around noon. There was a line, but not a huge wait. They are very efficient. I had the BBQ chicken tacos along with pasta salad. So good! Really, I could just live off of the pasta salad. It was awesome. I'm not entirely sure what the other adults had, but it all looked delicious. My little one enjoyed the fries, too! Friendly staff, the truck is easy to find, and (best of all) delicious, local, homemade food. Two thumbs up! The service added to the experience as the staff were friendly and efficient. The meal was ready in under 10 minutes and I was greeted when I walked up by the owner and a staff member. After many food truck experiences, including a couple of U.S. award winners, I would say this truck makes it into the top 3 I have tried. Despite an initial three-week delivery estimate, I did not pick up the unit until nearly two months later, on June 23, 2026. My total investment for this cart was $9,367.70 ($4,683.85 deposit plus $4,683.85 final payment). I was under the impression I was purchasing a brand-new 2026 model; however, upon receiving the paperwork on delivery day, the unit was listed as a 2022 model. Subsequent inspection on June 24 revealed that even the rubber tires are 2022 models, meaning the tires on this supposedly "brand-new" cart are nearly five years old. The pickup process was equally concerning. We arrived by appointment, but were subjected to a rushed, 30-minute overview. During that brief time, we flagged several obvious deficiencies, yet we were quickly hurried out the door. After conducting a thorough inspection at home on June 24, 2026, it became clear I had purchased a poorly constructed unit. As a trades professional, I believe this cart was built from scrap metal by someone lacking professional trade experience. The issues are extensive: exposed sharp metal, missing fasteners, jagged edges, deep gouges in the top, and leaking plumbing. Furthermore, a hot water line is leaking and rubbing against jagged metal, creating a high risk of failure. Most concerning is the quality of workmanship and finish that is completely unacceptable, what was supplied is not as advertised for this model on their website or YouTube videos. I was expecting a commercial quality Hummer model hot dog cart, but, received something that was made out of what appears to be recycled/refurbished previously used sheet metals that are heavily gouged and poorly spot welded, including many poorly applied fasteners. My advice to anyone considering this company for ANY build is to inspect every detail, do not trust their word, don't lay down any cash deposits until you see proof of concept / finished product and pay close attention to their workmanship. I will soon be posting a YouTube video and photos documenting these deficiencies so others can see exactly what to expect from this shop for my nearly $10,000 purchase. This review will remain posted despite the intimidating tone applied by the owner Will Hosgskiss regarding altering this review to 5 star only or he will not do anything. I am reporting this threat to Google for investigation. See other negative reviews for the same poor workmanship and behavior by this sloppy shop and owner Will Hosgskiss. You receive enormous portions for a reasonable price. Not only is the food good, but the customer service is as well! Everyone who I've seen working for Tall Fry is polite! They also are quite efficient, the longest I've ever had to wait is about 15 minutes during a busy day, but on average the time between ordering and the food being ready is pretty quick! Overall, Tall Fry is the best place for a bite to eat on Queen's Campus, and I highly recommended it to anyone in the Kingston area!
