My brother and I took the Basic Pistol Safety Course. David & Joey we're the instructors that instructed the course. David & Joey we're very professional, friendly and funny! There were 2 parts to the Basic Pistol Safety Course. There was classroom time and range time. David and Joey was very thorough with the information that they taught during the classroom time. They did so good that it made everyone feel confident that they can pass the test at the end of the classroom time and everyone did pass! David and Joey was also very good instructors during the range time. We were able to shoot at different distances. During the shooting, we were able to pick and choose which pistol we want to shoot. I was very pleased that they had a Glock 19 because that is the pistol that I'm looking to get in the future and was glad that I was able to get a feel for it. David and Joey were total professionals, yet personable. I reached out to them because my father wanted to transfer the ownership of his guns to me. 5&7 provided me with a notarized affidavit (received in the mail two days after I participated in the class) that I needed in order to fulfill one of the steps that is required of me to gain ownership. I attended the Basic Pistol Safety class and learned a lot; including the Hawaii laws pertaining to purchase, registration and ownership. The classroom instruction was very informative with people of various background (e.g., ex-military, civilians brushing up on their skills, women, young adults etc.) I enjoyed the class participation with Q & A's, and the information/lessons provided was easy to follow along. At the end of class, prior to going to the range, we learned proper hold and aim of a pistol. At the range, I was able to apply the knowledge learned in the classroom and actually make that connection. My experience with guns are only with rifles. Never having any experience in handling a pistol before was a little intimidating and harder than I thought. However, with the support and encouragement of David and Joey, I really enjoyed shooting and feel more confident in handling a pistol. Lastly, 5&7 Tactical was on-it with the COVID rules and regs. They had several bottles of hand sanitizer available throughout the classroom and upon entry to the range, and kept everyone safely distanced. I was concerned as my wife was really intimidated about touching a gun and being around guns. I also was worried if the instructor was not patient that it may intimidate my wife even more. It was a very fun and informative class to take with my Cousin. Learned to use a variety of hand guns. Learned the process of obtaining a gun and TONS of good safety procedures. Prior to this class I pretty much knew VERY LITTLE. Now I know at least the basics of gun components and how to shoot and load a gun. I honestly use to think you can just pick up a gun and shoot it... LOL. Learned it needs to be racked or cocked... and LOTS more. I just finished their pistol training course. Informative, professional, and patient instructors. They took the time to make sure all of all of our questions were answered and made sure we understood all instructions and information presented during class time and at the range.
