This establishment is clean and provide ample safety review prior to going in. I will not claim it have experience at all when it comes to shooting guns, even though I've done it a few times. This is my 2nd time coming here and each experience was super fun and safe. We did not bring our own guns and ammo, as I purchased the gun packages which let's you try out different pieces. They provided eye and ear protection, and its a must to wear covered shoes. I'd even say to wear long pants. There's limited street parking, and I think you can park at Ashley's furniture across the street, but I could be wrong. I just park there LOL. Two of us dropped by to do some shooting on a weekday afternoon and had a great experience all around. I have some experience shooting but my friend is a complete beginner except one time with a .22 rifle. We walked in without reservations and Guy (the manager or owner) was happy to help us though he suggested reservations in the future since they only have 4 stalls and can get busy. As other reviewers have noted, parking can be an issue but I was lucky to find a spot in one of the 3 stalls right in front of the store. I wanted to introduce my friend to handguns and Guy helpfully went through the rentals they had available which are in the display case at the counter. He suggested three or four that might be good for us, going through the basic operations of each. In the end we settled on 2 pistols, Smith & Wesson and Heckler & Koch 9 mm's. The total for the rental was $105, which included the stall ($30 for 2 people, I believe they have a special on Fridays), the pistols ($25 for 2), a box of ammo ($39 for 50 rounds) and targets ($6 for 2). Ear protection and glasses are included. All in all it's not cheap but then shooting in general is not cheap. After we were set up, my friend I went into the shooting range and spent the next hour blasting away. If you are completely unfamiliar with firearms or want instruction you may first want to take an intro class, which they also offer. Or judging from Yelp there places in Waikiki for those who just want to shoot but need handholding while doing it (personally I didn't like the idea of having to shoot firearms that are tethered to the wall, as the review pictures for those places showed). I liked 808 because it's not a place that caters to tourists but understands that their customers have different levels of familiarity with guns. It can be intimidating to walk into a shooting range and they were very friendly and respectful. I would definitely go back. read more

First time here and it wasn't a bad experience. Yes, shooting at Koko Head is way cheaper when you can get your own ammo and shoot for free. But what are you gonna do now since it's closed for God knows when? Parking is difficult. There are only so many stalls across the street on the sidewalk and their garage bay holds only three stalls. I purchased (50) rounds of 45ACP and (50) 9mm, plus two paper targets and adding in the range time, it cost me just a little over $100. (I brought my own firearms and did not need to rent theirs). Hey, they gotta pay for their rent as well as for the upkeep of their facility so expect it to be on the expensive side. Four lanes and area inside the enclosed range is warm to say the least. The air is circulating, but it's warm air. Pretty much an environment where you are going to want to just do what you gotta do and then exit. I needed to sight in my two optics and the (50) rounds each were more than enough to hit center consistently in the end. Patrick assisted me today and he was very professional. He patiently gave me the run down on the rules of the range and left me to get to work. I forgot to ask him if I was responsible to police my own brass (ie..sweep them up myself) so I just did it anyways. There were brooms and a brass bucket nearby. All in all it was good experience. I was able to do what I needed to do and it was a safe environment to do it in. read more

I do not recommend this so called Gun "Club" for it is not a club in any way shape or form. In fact it is just a two-bit shooting gallery with only two stalls. My experience there has been horrendous to say the least. I purchased a legitimate yearly membership to use the firing range, which came with an inhouse locker. Half way through the contract period my locker was broken into by the staff. They cut the lock and zip tied the locker door shut. My bullets and weapon stored there were taken by the staff. They did not tell me they sent my weapon to the Honolulu Hawaii Police Department, as an unknown weapon, even though it was located in my assigned locker, which I paid for. My bullets were returned to me after I complained. Before the staff broke into my locker they never informed me they were going to do this. I received many contradictory answers as to why they did this. One employee told they were inventorying, another said, a former employee was stealing by pocketing the funds assigned to the locker purchase, yet another said, he was simply told to do it. After many months of searching on my own for my weapon, and filing a stolen weapon report with both the Kauai and Honolulu Police Departments, I was able to retrieve my weapons. The so called Gun Club never told me definitively why they broke into my locker or where they sent my weapon. I had to find it on my own. read more

808 gun club was an amazing experience, previously I had only done shooting at the Waikiki Gun club where they chain the guns to the walls and the employees hover over you for no reason, my wife had never handled a weapon before. 808 gave us a safety brief and taught my wife the basics like "keep operational end pointed away from face" and let us go. I was happy to find that the nanny chains were not present at 808 and we had a blast. It was far easier to aim the weapon without it being restricted by chains, not to mention more naturally handling the recoil. The staff was amazing too. It's a bit of a pricy venture and the parking is. . .a problem you should plan for, but it is a great afternoon if you can get in. We will be coming back, hopefully soon and I highly recommend supporting them to keep them around. read more

Finally a time for my husband and I to have some much needed "date". Whenever we have the chance, my husband would ask what I'd like to do on our date day/night, and I always say "something fun or adventurous". So I decided to check this place out, after leaving from D&B's. So we ended up coming here for our date night. We used to at least go to a gun range at least 4x out of the year. So it's been a minute. And I was definitely rusty and I also felt a bit nervous. Only because it's been FOREVER, since I last touched my gun. Parking was a bit crazy. So we called to see where we could park and we were told that we could park in the garage near the entrance. Other than that parking, this isn't such a bad place. Keep in mind...you can use your gun, but, you would have to purchase ammo through them. Which honestly, is kinda pricey from what we're used too. Reason for my four star review. read more

Came here for the first time since they changed owners again. I took my oldest son for his first time shooting for his 16th bday. He really enjoyed the experience and like everyone's first time, they didn't expect the noise or the feel of the recoil to be like that lol. Anyways, it's been awhile since I shot my Ruger LCR revolver, plus renting the various weapons they had to offer. I rented their Glock 17 Gen 5 handgun and their AR-15 which included some fancy attachments that I wasn't used to. It was about $25 to use their indoor range, $35 to rent their long gun or $25 for their handguns along with purchasing only their ammunition which can get pretty pricey, but I understand, that's how they make their money. Other than the firearm rentals, I bought 3 target sheets, 50 rounds of the .38 Special for my revolver, 100 rounds of the 9mm for the Glock, and 60 rounds of the .223 for the AR-15. I was able to get a Law Enforcement Officer discount which brought my total for the evening down to approximately $385. It's a good thing I enjoy shooting, but it isn't my favorite hobby either lol. I just train for work and home defense. It was awesome that they allowed me to take my son because it allowed me to train him on the dangers of the weapon and how to handle it safely, clear each weapon, load the weapon, etc. Overall, my son enjoyed his first shooting experience. I wished we came a little sooner so he could've experienced the shotgun. We'll save that for another time. I wished they labeled how far 10 yards, 20 yards, etc. on the walls down range. The staff there are very friendly and helpful. Julie and an older gentleman walked me through the process. This little shop is located on Queen Street and Ward just Kokohead (East) of the Central Pacific Bank or across the street from Ashleys Furniture. They only have 2 parking stalls, but you can park across the street in the large parking lot (I'm not really sure if can or no can lol). read more
