For starters I've had friends who worked at multiple locations have a terrible time, which they only hire women, one of those friends was a person of color and would be treated differently then all the other workers and ended up getting slowly taken off the schedule. The other issue is they never restock. I came a couple weeks ago and asked for a roast beef sandwich, they are out. So I ask for pastrami, they are out. I ask for grilled chicken, guess what, they are out. I thought it mightve been because it was later in the day, but ever time I've tried again they NEVER have it restocked. I dont understand how you run a business but treat workers like that, and never have anything. I forgot to mention the donut crumble is just old donuts that didnt sell, so they crush them up and leave them in a bucket for rats to get to (true story from the inside, maybe run a business right and these reviews wont happen, dont let me get started on all the corners EVERY restaurant out here cuts.)

No one greets you when you walk in, and I usually have to start the conversation at the register. The staff often comes across as rude, which makes ordering uncomfortable. The only exception is one younger girl who always seems friendly, welcoming, and like she actually cares about giving good customer service. The donuts are okay, but nothing special. I've also ordered the breakfast sandwiches a couple of times, and when I asked for sourdough bread, I was given wheat instead (or at least it definitely didn't seem like sourdough). I wanted to keep supporting this place since it's local, but good customer service is just as important as good food, and that's been consistently disappointing.

Most recently, I came in with an idea for my son's 7-Eleven birthday theme, and the only things I knew were that it had to be a donut cake and with specific theme colors. The staff there helped me configure how many layers I needed and how many of each color per layer, and even helped mock it up! I ended up changing the layout anyways because I found a better tray later on, but I loved how it all came together! They only missed out on one design detail, but I didn't care. So while sitting in the car waiting for my wife and toddler to use the bathroom, I googled this place, not thinking much of it. Then, I find out that Rocklin Donuts and Cinnamon have made it onto some of the best donut lists in the whole country! So, of course, here I am jumping out of the car and strolling over to see what's left on a Sunday (Mother's Day) afternoon. Unfortunately for me, they were out of there incredible looking cinnamon rolls and apple fritters. The photos from other Yelpers made me jealous. Instead, I got some donut holes and a chocolate croissant. The nice lady had a thick accent, but we got things figured out, and she even threw in some extra donut holes for me. The donut holes were incredible. Absolutely melt in your mouth. Perfection. The chocolate croissant was not flaky or crispy, but had that classic donut shop chewy texture, and of course, was loaded with chocolate. I HAVE to come back for the apple fritter, as that's one of my favorite donuts, and the cinnamon rolls look insane. I will be back!

I would give them 3 stars if I was just basing it on the donuts. But I dropped it a star due to…read moretheir policies. They charge a .65 fee if you use a card. That is waaaaay over what they pay. Most donut shops do not charge, but if they do it should be reasonable. Their swipe rate for debit cards is 20 to 25 cents. Credit cards are more but still are not going to be more than 40 cents on a $3 donut. That would actually be a high rate. What they are charging is not ethical. I would recommend either not doing business with them or only do so if you have cash.
