When I first received my drink, it looked a little off. Tasted it and it was just milk with all the matcha at the bottom. I went in and just asked if they could add a little bit more flavoring, and the barista said that the only reason it looked off was because they ran out. If I was just rating the drink I received, this would have been 5 stars. My oat milk pumpkin chai tea was perfection. BUT I ordered food and it was the polar opposite. Avocado toast was made using what I believe is the pre mashed stuff - not fresh. Kinda had a gucumole taste which is yuck for avo toast. Then just a few diced tomatoes & red onion on top.. I will say the sourdough toast it was on was good, loved the balsamic glaze but I couldn't get past eating 1 piece. I also got a cinnamon roll. Asked that it be warmed up. If they did heat it up, by the time it got to me it was room temperature. Actual roll was pretty subpar, so I didn't even bother asking them to reheat again. Final verdict: come for the coffee/tea, but find food elsewhere. read more

I have been here for coffee a few times before but have never sat down and enjoyed a cuppa with soup. I wanted to work on my photography website in town, so I decided to come to Roadhouse Coffee for lunch. It was Valentine's Day, and they were serving some special drinks that day. I chose their large hot chai tea with raspberry, which was sooo good. I wish it weren't strictly a Valentine's Day drink as I would get it again. Their soup of the day was a chicken tortilla soup and that was good with a bit of heat as well. Please note that soup is a seasonal menu item from fall to spring. You order at the front and I was served at my table pretty quickly. They also had a few local stickers for sale, and I grabbed 2 for $5. I opted to sit outside as there were already a few people sitting around inside. They also had the heater on and I preferred the cold mountain air, but the inside is cozy and has a good amount of tables. I did not use the wifi as I was using the hotspot on my phone and have Verizon, which is pretty fast in Pine Grove (5G in some areas). Overall a cute little place to relax or do some work (and watch the vehicles going up and down the 88 if you sit outside). I would love to come back to enjoy more soup and bring my laptop again. read more

Just what I wanted for a quick breakfast while in the road! Quaint home turned cafe has a limited menu but just enough choices. First time I went in and had a regular latte, I thought "Starbucks has nothing on Roadside Coffee House's latte. It was absolutely delicious! I also tried their breakfast burrito and now I'm hooked! First time visit at this small cute coffee shop with an amazing menu. Great service , amazing coffee and great food !! Everyone here seems very friendly and nice. I tried their house coffee and it was amazing!! If you're in the mood for some coffee definitely recommend the House coffee. I also got a strawberry banana smoothie and it was very delicious. My husband and I rate The Pine Grove Roadhouse 5 stars for its welcoming and family style atmosphere. Plus more! My husband will be posting on my behalf since we were in the middle of sharing our thoughts about this place and he happily volunteered. Over the course of 5 years, The Pine Grove Roadhouse never fails at serving up some home style meals in a comfy country style setting. Although covid has hurt and closed many businesses, I am happy this this place has withstood the pandemic. They've just recently added a polish dog and a hot dog to the menu, which goes perfectly to the rest of their menu. The polish dog, ever since I had it at Costco a long time ago, has always been a favorite of mine. When Costco discontinued it, it left a hole in my heart which I think has now been filled. Mustard and onions on the polish dog is the perfect combo. This is something I'll be getting again when we venture up here again. My wife usually gets the turkey club with macaroni salad. No mustard. The sandwich has decently sized turkey slices, fresh tomatoes and onions then topped with pepperoncinis all on a soft roll. The owner Steve is what I would compare to as a pineapple. He's rough on the outside but inside he's a really sweet guy. Once you get past the outer layer, you'll see the real Steve. The employees that work here are nice and always happy to help. The restaurant is clean and always maintained! Nothing beats it. Twice this month I have waited 30 minutes for a coffee. The last time the staff was less than friendly. It's not the same since it changed ownership a year or so ago. I believe they have also changed the source of their quiche from a local source to something pre-made/frozen. It would be great to have another coffee/snack place in town. read more
