Hiring 5starr Movers was one of the worst decisions I've ever made. Within the first 30 minutes, they managed to shatter my mirror, break my media console, and scratch multiple furniture pieces. The damage was just the beginning. Only two movers showed up instead of the three I was promised, and they spent a good part of the move arguing in front of me, trying to blame each other for their mistakes and poor service. They were late on both days, careless with my belongings, and--unbelievably--caught smoking in my building twice, which resulted in a $250 fine that they initially agreed to cover, then backed out two months later, leaving me to deal with it. Getting reimbursed for my broken media console was a nightmare. I had to send endless reminders and was paid back in piecemeal $30 increments over weeks, despite clear proof of damage. I had to fight tooth and nail just to get what I was owed. Absolutely unprofessional, unreliable, and unapologetic. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from 5starr Movers--they are anything but 5-star. read more

I hired 5 Starr movers for a simple in state move. Not only did they show up without a truck, their mover break a piece of my furniture without any apology, they also disregarded rules at my apartment building, which got me in trouble. I would not recommend 5 Starr Moving to anyone! read more

I booked 5 Starr Moving & Cleaning for a two part move on September 2nd. On my first move i asked for 3 men, only 2 showed up. Due to it being a last minute move, i didn't pay it any mind. I was told to provide the truck and 2 dozen blankets to wrap my heavy or fragile items. The movers did not wrap any of the items except 2/3 tv's. After some time, I was informed the truck was full and nothing else could fit. So we moved the items to the storage unit next door. After packing them into storage, the movers informed me they cannot finish the move because they had "other things to do." They left about 10 boxes and my 2 marble floating shelves (unwrapped) on the back of the truck. I found the shelves broken into pieces. They also left 10 boxes some chairs and a TV at the home. They also broke my daughters computer desk while putting it into storage unit & my living room stone table was also chipped and scratched up. I informed the owner of the items and he told me he would file a claim. Being that he was finishing my move in 3 weeks, he took off $200 for the remaining move. On the second day of the final move, September 20th, i informed him i wanted 4 men. Only 3 showed up. After being almost 2 hours late, all the men unloaded the storage unit. They began to wrap my mirrored dresser & Chester drawer & my glass vanity. One of the guys tried to wrap and move the dresser by himself and the whole thing fell over. After the move, all these items were unwrapped, revealing them to be shattered and broken. I informed the owner and sent all photos. After many apologies from the staff and the owner, he told me i would still have to pay $700 for the services and he will file a claim. He gave me proof of insurance certificate, told me not to call or email them and he will file the claim. After waiting 3 weeks, i contacted the owner and he stated he was waiting. I then called the insurance company and they didn't want to cover it because he had a lapse in the insurance and was not covered at the time of the move. The owner lied to me. The owner has informed me he will pay out of pocket for the $5802.00 worth of damages but i have not received a dime. I informed him i will be taking this up to the courthouse to file a civil claim. He asked me not to but now it's been another 2 weeks. My move was September 20th, it is now November 24th. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. read more

I thought the truck was not big enough but they explained everything they planned on doing and fit it all with plenty of space to add more stuff if I needed to. I WOULD NEVER HIRE THIS COMPANY! NOR WOULD I RECCOMMEND THEM. THE PACKERS WERE TERRIBLE! JAY SEEMS LIKE A NICE PERSON, BUT THAT DORESN'T MEAN MUCH WHEN HIS COMPANY BREAKS UR FURTINURE. They were a day late. Then supposed to show up in the AM. They finally got there after 4 pm. Had to pay extra fees for the POD. BEACUSE OF THEM and change pickup day which effect the delivery date. They smashed my husband's expensive oak wrap around desk. Which matches all the other office furniture. They packed only 1/2 the POD and left. We spent most of the night unpacking (and removing the desk) which is now awaiting bulk pickup! And repacking. WE packed to the ceiling and everything fit, SUPRISE! My husband, who works from home, is now working on the floor. Jay offered to pay us $50 increments to #150. And nothing for the desk or additional POD fees. The owner of this company is complete scum. I hired his team to move a treadmill from my garage upstairs to a room in my house. He quoted me $175 for 3 people. When the day comes, only 2 people show up, but they said they could still get the treadmill up. At some point, they decide they need to take a part the treadmill to get it upstairs. This made no sense because we could've done that ourselves, but again I let it go. While they are taking apart the treadmill, they legs pop out and hit my husband on the top of his head, splitting it open. I try to call everything off, because MY HUSBAND'S HEAD IS SPLIT OPEN, but they insist on going to Walmart to get a strap the carry the treadmill pieces up the stairs. When they go to Walmart I take my husband to his parents house because his mom is a nurse, and let them know the garage is open. The owners response is not even an apology for everything that has happened, but him demanding MORE MONEY because his team had to "disassemble and reassemble the treadmill and buy a strap". How is it my responsibility for a strap when I hired you for a service you said you could do? Your men should have that equipment on them already. If you hire a plumber, do you pay for their tools? No. An absolute joke. They also did not assemble the treadmill, as they left it upstairs in 4 pieces. I had to put it back together after all of this mess. He also said the price was for 3 people, and only 2 showed up! He then had the audacity at the end to still charge me $175, saying he paid for the strap out of his pocket, which is literally HIS RESPONSIBILITY, and that I should be happy. No apology for anything that happened and they left my treadmill in a worse condition then it was when I hired them. This company is fraud and will harm you and not even care. A nightmare. read more

I strongly encourage you not to use 5 Starr Moving and Cleaning- GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! . Both 5 Starr Moving and Moving Labor.com failed me and my wife miserably for our moving needs. They charged me for a full unload, despite never showing up in the moving window they agreed to. When the 5 Starr driver told me he would miss the delivery window, I cancelled the service. The driver stated that I would not be charged when I cancelled them for their failure to show up. They then proceeded to bill me a $150 No Show fee. and also charged a $50 cancellation fee, although they were at fault. They had purposely scheduled another move ahead of mine, and ignored the 8 am-10 am delivery window that was stated in the contract. My direct calls to 5 Starr have not been returned. I booked them through Moving Labor.com. who in turn also deserves a ZERO in Customer service. There is No MANAGER AVAILABLE ON WEEKENDS , WHICH IS WHEN MOST OF US MOVE! The individual I spoke to stated that they would have showed up sometime that day, and that because I cancelled, I was responsible for the charges They stated that the 5 Starr driver had no authority to state their would be no charges, and refused to credit me either the $50 cancellation fee, or $150 No Show fee. These firms don't really care about you or your move- they just want to take your money WITHOUT PROVIDING ANY SERVICE, which IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY DID TO ME! These are not Professional organizations- Buyer beware if you choose to use them! So, hired 5 star through Hire a Helper, arrival window was between 8am and 10 am. 1016 I call hire a helper, who calls 5 star. Hire a helper calls back, new window between 11am and 12pm. Why? because 5 star " didn't see my move on their dashboard". 11:10 am Jay, from 5 star, texts me (not even a phone call) to tell me 2 of his guys called out sick and he couldn't make the move! My closing was the next day and I was flying out immediately after! I had to be out. Jay offered to come the next day " early in the morning" and I refused as I has to be out for the walk through BEFORE the closing, get to the closing AND get to the airport for a noon flight! This company made a rough week miserable and I would NEVER trust them to show when they say they will. To say " I thought my guys had you covered today" is not professional. Why not tell hire a helper at 10:16??? Why lie to them??? Cost me an additional 600.00 to get another mover the same day. So a 354.00 move with 5 star cost me almost a grand...
