WSP 5 tan. I am not getting what I am paying for. Where is my tan??? I know from talking to someone that they do not change all the tanning bed bulbs. They instead they change a few face bulbs. When this month is done so am I. I will gladly go somewhere where the customer gets what they pay for. read more

Never in my life have I been so disrespected. The two ladies working at the front desk should be out of their jobs immediately. Upon walking in one of the employees shamed my friends and I for our appearances by saying she knew she should have left the store prior to our arrival. While asking about the variety of tans and prices they proceeded to comment about the shade and tone of my skin as I am African American. After exiting without a tan we sat in the car ready to pull away while one of the employees slammed shut the blinds with rage to assure we knew we weren't welcomed back. This company deserves no service and it would be a shame to say you are a customer at $5 tan. They are racist. read more

Overall awful experience. My friends and I went in hoping to get a quick tan but that is not what we got. We were disrespected by the manager and an employee working. They basically told us not to get tans and made several remarks bashing us for our age, appearance, and even race. Also, the inside of the place was not appealing and looked crusty. I would not recommend this place to anybody. If you are looking for a tan, go anywhere but here. Will not be back. read more

Absolutely disgusting place. Very first time at any $5 tan and ew. I will go back to darque tan, and I'm glad I only purchased a single tan. Granted the staff is friendly, but cleanliness is most important in my book when tanning. I don't know who is responsible for cleaning underneath the glass that you lay your body on in the bed but wow, laid in there for two min, turned my head and noticed pubic hairs all underneath the glass BY MY HEAD how in the world...I dont even want to know but after looking closer i noticed it was EVERYWHERE under the glass from head to toe of the bed. Absolutely disgusting, I will attach a pic and never return. Whoever changes those bulbs, needs to clean! read more

My review has been up for three years, and you can see that the ownership has just now decided to address it by calling me a liar. I have zero reason to lie about my experience, if this had just been addressed by returning my call, I wouldn't have resorted to this review. I have a personal policy of contacting a business first to resolve the situation, rather than running to the internet. If a business owner at least addresses the issue, I wouldn't go this route. But, this business owner has proved my point about their terrible customer service by straight up saying I'm 100% incorrect, three years after the fact. read more

I recently moved and was looking for a $5 Tan near me.... no such luck. While looking for a location, I come across the reviews for WSP. One mentioned that there is an expiration date for the 5 tan package (I can't remember the exact name). I called the location I used to go to (CG) before I moved and inquired about the expiration date thing and the gal told me, "yea, unfortunately they expired and you don't have anything remaining on your account". Now mind you, I was a customer of Catch-a-Tan in CG since 2001... and a customer of the WSP and Woodbury Catch-a-Tan locations for many years before that and I NEVER had tans/packages expire. Now $5 Tan comes along and I purchase a 5 tan package. I did some upgrades to the Ultra Bronze (or whatever their comparison is) and I also used their Mystic Tan a couple times. Not ONCE was I ever made aware that what I had purchased would expire! Even purchased gift cards from merchants have NO expiration dates! This is STEALING!! I would NOT recommend this place to my worst enemy!!! I guess the takeaway is 'BUYER BE WARE'. ** looking forward to the SNARKY response from the owner! read more

A disgrace to the $5 tan company...those are the words I would use to describe the employees working the night shift on Sunday, December 29th! If it was an option to select 0 stars in my rating there would be no hesitation to do so! As me and a group of friends politely walked in to the very not appealing salon hoping to walk out with a nice glow. We exited with rage and pale skin. We were greeted with negativity and disgust. The ladies working that night treated us as if we were stupid by the questions we were asking and proceed to make comments about our appearance...one comment referring to my friends skin tone. We decided to proceed in hope to getting a tan but the ladies basically told us with a group our size it could take 2 hours (there were 4 of us). In my previous experiences getting tans it took no longer than 30 minutes for a group of 4. With that we decided that that was our cue to leave. Overall, it was a horrible experience one that I hope to embark on again. I question how a company could hire people that rude and how their business is still running when they turn away costumers so easily. I will for-sure not be back to this location or any $5 Tan location considering the morals of their companies hiring. If you can get anything out of this review please go get a nice glow from any other local tanning salon as I have never had a horrible experience anywhere else! When $5 Tan bought out the West St Paul, MN location, it was formerly Catch A Tan. Just prior to the buy-out between these companies, I had purchased a $85.29 tanning package totaling 12 sessions (buy 10, get 2 free deal) and had used only a few sessions. After the buy-out, I stopped in and spoke with the "then" West St Paul store manager to confirm my tanning purchase was still in $5 Tan's customer database as a valid package and paid-in-full invoice. The "then" store manager confirmed my package was in their computer system and reassured me that my paid package would migrate over between the two different companies and their customer databases (different computer systems). The "then" $5 Tan store manager went as far as documenting in writing how my tanning purchase translated over to the new pricing model. She even used a $5 Tan business card. The "then" $5 Tan store manager confirmed I had four $5 Level-1-Beds and one $15 Level-5-Bed sessions leftover. Tonight, I went into the West St Paul, MN $5 Tan location to use one of these sessions, in preparation for my vacation. I was told by the tanning clerks their computer system did not show I had purchased a tanning package. I showed the clerks the invoice documentation from the previous $5 Tan store manager and the clerks said it did not matter. I asked to speak with the store manager (Alyssa) on the phone and Alyssa said $5 Tan was never associated with Catch-A-Tan; even though on the $5 Tan corporate web site, the West St Paul location clearly refers to a Catch A Tan association. The store manager also said she would not honor my paid receipts or the documentation showing the remaining sessions based on the new $5 Tan pricing model. The clerks even stated their district manager (Angela) would not honor the paid documentation either. I offered to reduce the 5 remaining sessions to 2 sessions and the West St Paul staff would not even negotiate. I had no choice but to leave without tanning. I will be calling the MN attorney general and the MN Commerce Department tomorrow to report this dishonest business practice. How can a store manager and a district manager not even be aware of their company's prior history and association with Catch A Tan?? Way to go guys in honoring your past customers and maintaining the integrity of your customers' information through your previous buyout of Catch A Tan! Went tonight thinking I had 5 tans left on my account only to find out they expired...I have been going here for a long time and always buy a package around this time of year and don't use them all and have never had them expire before. Guess they made a ton of money off of me, sad thing is I usually use up the old ones and buy a new package, but I am not doing that if they are going to expire. Oh well, I will just go buy some tinting lotion....better for my skin and health anyway. read more

Very rude staff. She Turned off my bed when I wasn't finished and supposedly couldn't start my bed unless I paid for it, AGAIN. She said she'd talk to her manager and promised me a free tan, which never happened. Also, I guess that her manager hasn't been in for three days and won't be there tomorrow either- Im just a shift supervisor and won't get more than two days off a week. Lisa answered the phone once I called and was very rude saying they "test" their beds daily and couldn't give me my tan that I BOUGHT. Once I told her I've been very nice about all of this and would call corporate she decided to; excuse my language, kiss my ass and finally decided to, "apologize for the inconvenience", which she should have said; in my opinion, right away. I've worked in customer service since high school and I will, and always have pleased my customers, so they come back. The beds are cracked and overall poor customer service. I will get my tan and will never go here again. Bring back catch a tan! read more

Love tanning here! Beds are always clean, staff is really nice and I love the huge selection of different beds and also lotions! Also the cheapest salon I've ever been to for the same kind of beds as palm beach which is where I used to tan. I will defiantly continue to tan here! read more
