The 3 buildings I managed is having a Spring Cleaning/ junk removal event and It's set up this morning at 8. The team of 2 came right on time. They start hauling the junks and estimating it would probably take them 2 hours and 2- 3 truck loads to complete the job... Did I mention they charged by the weight of the items instead of per truck load? You can check on their web-site how they work... I also like their ways of communicating, first by phone then email confirmation. They have their own trucks and the crew staff all wearing uniforms. I saw their ad on Facebook and literally face-palmed because our company has used them for years so why didn't I think of them? While the response was initially a bot to gather information which I don't mind, a real person immediately responded after that. A phone call was promised for Monday afternoon, the time I requested, and I gave more details. After agreeing to the quote, the window of time was set for Tuesday morning. The two men were polite, friendly and professional. I showed them the items in various rooms and the balcony and they set about removing them. The workers for this company need to learn to keep their mouths shut and their opinions to themselves. This company came in to clean up a mess left behind by someone who was evicted from our complex. While these workers were cleaning up the mess, they complained and whined the entire time about how big the job was and how they felt they were lied to about the size of the job. Then they began talking crap about the people in the complex. Calling us trashy and low class. A majority of the people in this complex all work so these little pricks categorizing all of us as low-class and trashy just because of one problem tenant is disrespectful. These kids seem to think being paid to pick up other people's trash makes them better than everybody else. read more

I want to give 10 stars but alas only 5 is alllowed. These guys are the best in the business. I have used this junk removal since they started think I was their first customer. I did not hesitate to call these guys as I know they are fantastic and are true to their word. I called them last week and today they came and even called early to say they were running ahead of time and if it was alright to come early. There were four guys due to a piano that I was getting rid of and a few other stuff, Logan, Israel, Nathan and Onoh have to be the best that I have ever dealt with, friendly and personable and got right to it. Absolutely would recommend 505 Junk! The team was cheerful, helpful, friendly and super efficient especially Alex, Spencer, John and Jesse. Alex was more than happy to meet on site in order to give us (multiple) quotes. Glad he did cuz it ended up being a bigger job (all day, 5-6 truck loads). It didn't matter how clean or dirty, how many stairs or how much crap/treasure there was they got the job done. By the way it didn't matter how many truck loads it took to remove the junk CUZ 505 Junk calculate the rates by weight (and not by space). Plus they recycle majority of the junk. This company and staff is top notch I can't stress this enough. As we get older as do our parents and I got tasked in having to deal with my parents estate for downsizing. For those that have been through it you understand that it is a very overwhelming experience trying to navigate this process. The staff is extremely personable and extremely honest especially dealing with sensitive personal belongings if you've never been tasked with a situation like this, do yourself a favour call them save yourself from the emotional rollercoaster of dealing with memories from the past and going down the rabbit hole of maybe I could have done more. Just had the guys from 505-Junk take away some pretty bulky, awkward furniture under some trying conditions. The men, Chris was the driver and I didn't get the "accountant"s name, were friendly, hard working, adaptable and Chris even helped me move a heavy piece of furniture in my apartment. From the man in the office to the movers, this company and their associates are the gold standard. And so reasonable, the cost came under the estimate by about $100. read more

Scott Foran from 505-Junk called me to apologize for the unexpected charges for the box springs. He has sent me a refund for those charges. He also explained why their costs exceed $20 per mattress/boxspring. He apologized for the way the settlement process forces you to decline to give a tip and said that they are working on a way to improve that process. He assured me their employees do not depend on tips for their income and that any tips that are provided are pooled and shared amongst all the frontline workers. read more

I'm rarely impressed, but 505 Junk is pretty awesome. I purchased a groupon for 200 pounds of removal and this has been one of my better experiences. They are pretty organized and sent an email confirming the items to be removed. I replied to the email with an additional large item and received a reply confirming it could be added to the list. They arrived early and picked up all the times. I paid the difference after the overweight and it was totally worth it. I would definitely recommend these guys! read more

This was our first experience with 505-Junk (the Richmond, BC store) and they were fantastic! It was very easy to book a time and they were great communicators. The cost to remove 4 pieces of furniture from a house was fair and consistent with the estimate that was given during the initial call. The two-man team was friendly and efficient. My one suggestion for the business would be for the crew to consider bringing shoe protectors so mud/dirt isn't dragged into the house from the outside. He clearly explained the estimated cost (actual total came in lower) and fees associated with mattress removal. Came across 505-junk via yelp, when the original place I called was busy the day I needed them to come. I called them and they were super professional over the phone; let me know the price, and what I could expect (our junk would be sorted so the minimum amount ended up in the landfill). We had a huge pile of junk which they very quickly loaded onto the truck. Upon arrival they provide an estimate of how much weight there is (they charge a flat fee + by the pound). Estimate was 2380 pounds, actual was 2200-ish...so pretty close! FYI - they don't take long tube light bulbs and certain types of paint, but will steer you in the direction of where you can recycle these (would be good to offer a service where they pick up EVERYTHING as I think people would be all over that). Can't say enough good things about these guys. Extremely helpful, professional and quick service. It also feels good to support a local company. They came to pick up junk from our garage in Dunbar - I mentioned that I also had some old kitchen cabinets in the house and they took them without any issues. The cost is calculated by the weight so you know you're not getting ripped off. There was an extra cost for mattresses (they informed us of this ahead of time) because they get charged when they bring it to the dump. FYI, I had originally hoped they would do a pick-up the same day (a Thursday), but they were booked through the weekend, so you will possibly have to make a reservation a few days ahead of time during the summer. read more
