Got-Junk was scheduled to arrive at 3:30, but were 30 minutes early, meaning I wasn't home to assist. We arranged a pickup for a small single couch, and was quoted $128 online. After they picked up the couch, they demanded my wife pay $225 and claimed it was "quoted wrong". Eventually my wife was able to pull up a quote copy that I sent her and eventually it was honoured. They also tried to upsell my wife by noting that filling half a truck was only $600, which wasn't at all close to a service we needed or wanted. On-top of that, their website notes that they'll sweep up afterwards, which they also didn't do. I would not recommend this service. It's $15 to throw out a couch at the Vancouver Transfer station. read more

Wow they are fast and efficient. Within 30 mins and they got all the junk out of the house. That was super fast. They are pricier than other junk removal but they are fast and professional. I am so happy they got rid of the junk so quick. Now we have lots more space. They also made sure to watch out for the door and walls. No dents or scratches left behind. read more

I asked two friends about the price of the junk removal service. Both of them said i was overcharged. One friend says they charge a minimum load. I described to him what junk I needed removed. He said the minimum load should be around $219. I was charged $433 for what my friend thought is a minimum load. I asked another friend and he says I was charged too much too. But this was the best option and price, especially as there was a fair and minimal charge ($38) for the mattress. They were available the same day - get the coupon! Got-Junk advertise themselves as "piano removers". Bu when they arrived, the 2 men just shook their heads and said there was no way they could do take that piano away. Pathetic. We ended up contracting Metro Vancouver Movers who quoted us the lowest price. They arrived on time with 6 men and expertly and efficiently found the easiest way to get the piano out with no problems at all. 1-800-GOT-JUNK was a complete disappointment. read more

Big task of decluttering my parents home. Piles of garbage bags, mountain of boxes, and old furniture. It hurt to think of lugging this stuff down an elevator, then to a dump and recycling. We decided to hire 1-800-Got-Junk and really glad we did. We booked our appointment, the guys came in the afternoon, gave us a quick quote and we said let's go. The were prepared with two big garbage bins on wheels and started to haul things away. Super personable and really accommodating throughout the process. They were careful with the walls inside the home and also in the common area of the building. It took them longer than originally thought,not because of their work, but because one of the two elevators were not functioning. (We did book the elevator for 4 hours) In the end we filled one truck and the cost was well worth it. Considering how much we had and the time and effort we would have had to put in it was inexpensive and worth every penny. We have one more load and will be calling them again. I am so happy with their efficient, thorough and meticulous service. The staff were so pleasant to work with and showed real professionalism and genuine care for their customers. They took care of everything I needed emptied out and left things that were supposed to stay untouched. I was very touched when they brought out some old photos I didn't know were tucked in a pile of junk and asked me whether that was really junk! The best part of it all, they did not charge me the excess volume that were more than the original quote, so that's very much appreciated. Used their service on short notice to clean out a business space, and was impressed at their work. They literally did take everything I pointed at and needed very little direction/supervision, they were very hard working and pushed through almost 5 hours of work without a break just continuously pulling items out. They were very polite and professional, and dont think i would have had a better experience with anyone else hauling junk. My husband and I were getting new living room furniture delivered and we needed to get rid of our 19 year old stuff to make room for it. The furniture store didn't take furniture away and recommended a guy who does it for them, but he couldn't come on short notice. Avoid at all costs. Hired to remove 2 small-medium sized couches, the job was initially quoted at $180 at the low end to $250 at the high end depending on the work involved removing it and truck space. Of course, quotes are not always 100%, and we knew that. It would have been no surprised to have the actual, day-of price be a little over. Upon Arrival, the price was immediately upped to $315! And then upped again *two more times* while they were mid work to almost $350! That is not "A little over". Even were the initial estimate so badly made that it was 50% of the actual price (Reason enough never to use them), upping it during the visit is nothing more than a scam. EDIT: In purpose of honesty and full disclosure--I got the numbers wrong of the final price (It did not come out of my wallet but that of a direct family member who lives with me), and I have edited this review to reflect the actual, real numbers. I live in New Westminster. I disposed of one dismantled 6-foot loveseat and a tiny power supply. It is not that heavy and I could carry those parts. They charged $166+tax(total of $174). I thought what I heard was $66 and when it comes to paying, it was actually one-sixty six. $166! Are you kidding me? Other services usually charge $80-$100 for a couch. The customer service sent an email to me and it says "The minimum in your region is $166, with a half truck at $506 and a full truck at $796. We are unable provide you with an accurate quote for your specific load online." What kind of incompetent company cannot quote online??? I really wanted to cancel the appointment after they did not send an estimation and will come to my place. The result is this. Do not use their service. read more

In Coquitlam. Took a bike (hopefully by mistake) with the stuff I wanted removed. When I noticed the next day, I called and advised. Was told the manager for the area would get back to me that afternoon. He didn't, so at 4pm I called again and an email was forwarded to the manager to call me the next day. No call back so I called again on Tuesday and again the manager for Coquitlam area did not return call. So on Wednesday I called and asked for the managers boss. He did call back a short time later and said "sorry" but given the time delay he doubted they would find my sons bike. I was hoping to catch the bike before it was separated from my stuff but my calls were ignored, making me wonder if they took the obviously good bike on purpose. I made a last-minute appointment over the internet and then the truck and two very nice guys showed up less than 2 hours later - right on schedule. I showed them everything I wanted them to take - then they volunteered to take stuff I just assumed they wouldn't be able to... like an old, junky motorcycle I didn't think would fit in the truck. I had a slightly frustrating experience with the actual junk removal -- a couple scheduling issues; a scratched floor; and a price I felt was rather steep. But when I said as much in a customer satisfaction survey, the resolution was tremendous. The owner of the franchise (Daryl) called me personally within hours; explained some extenuating circumstances around my scheduling issues; and assured me he'd address the remainder of my concerns at an upcoming staff meeting. He also offered me a full refund, which went above and beyond my expectations. Bottom line is, every business has its off days, but very few go out of their way to make up for it. I wouldn't hesitate to call these guys again, as I believe the conscientious franchisee does what it takes to ensure his customers are satisfied. read more

Not a good experience. They called twice saying they were going to be late. They ended up coming 30 minutes after the window. I didn't have much to get rid of at all and the minimum expense is $169 + tax??! That's insane. There should definitely be less expensive options. I used this company to remove junk from attic, basement and storage shed and got ripped off. They not only took all the junk, but also removed $600 worth of electrical equipment from one of my tenants, and $200 worth of linens from another tenant. All this after telling the two men that these items were not to be removed! When I called the franchise in Albany I got the brush-off telling me that they had no knowledge of the pick up and would not answer three subsequent phone calls. I am also being sued by the tenants for allowing thieves into the house. read more

We had sold our family home and at the end of December we were fast approaching the date when the sale has going to close. My brother, sister and I had at least forty-five years of memories physically manifest as a lot of stuff. We went through closets, drawers, cabinets, boxes in an effort to separate what was important and wanted to keep from what could be discarded or given away. The pile of discards was growing very large. Finally, we called 1-800-Got Junk and made two appointments on two consecutive days. We knew this would be a big job and at the end of the month we did not want to take the chance of not having everything that could be discarded taken away. The person I spoke to answered my questions, gave good advice about how many trucks we would need and was generally easy to talk to about the service. On the first day, Mark and Henry came and took away the big imposing heavy modular couch and the very old bedroom set and two truck loads of old kitchen appliances, clothes, linens, gardening materials, etc. A big weight was lifted from our shoulders after they finished their allotted time with us. Mark and Henry were on time, friendly, efficient, accommodating and helpful. We could not have asked for better customer service! On the second day, New Year's Eve day, Mark and Monica came on time and were friendly, helpful and understanding. Excellent customer service and very easy to work with! We were lucky to have this second appointment because as it turned out we really needed it. We were amazed that our discards quickly filled up two truckloads on the second day!! After Mark and Monica left, we just had a lot of empty space and the feeling that we had done the right thing. Thanks to 1-800-Got Junk and Mark, Henry and Monica, we were able to carry away the memories of our old family home but not all the baggage. I would highly recommend this service to anyone who is moving out, moving up, decluttering or downsizing. The only thing I wish that 1-800-Got-Junk had is a mobile shredding service. read more

I was able to go online and schedule the pickup for 1/2 hour from then! They were prompt, super friendly, REALLY fast, and I thought the fee was reasonable. Great experience. I had to empty my mom's place and two big trucks came. The Franchise owner (i think Mike) was nice enough to confirm the appointment the day before. So glad he did because once he heard what we had, he suggested two trucks instead of just one. The two guys who arrived were very professional and friendly. I like how they give you a quote before and that it is based on how much space it takes up in the truck. They took apart a huge ping pong table and beds. Very good service. They even suggested a good recycling depot nearby. The price seemed very reasonable. It would have been cheaper doing it ourselves, but definitely would have taken us two or three days to do instead of the 5 hours. read more

Gave them a chance and failed miserably. Had an appointment booked for 2pm to 4pm in Maple ridge. Get a call saying they are running behind and won't be able to make it till 5pm. 5pm comes and goes and I call them at 7pm asking what the situation is. I'm told they are grabbing another truck and will be at my place by 8:10 pm. That time comes and goes and 9pm roll around so I tell them to not bother. I get a message saying they are 10 minutes away and would give a 10% discount. I didn't see the message till a few minutes later so message back and say they are welcome to come look and get a message saying that they have already moved on and if I want to use their service it would have to be another day. I wasted a whole day waiting for these guys for nothing. I will be giving my business to a local company and not waste my time and money on these guys and would suggest that anyone reading this do the same. read more
