so I went to get an oil change had no light on my dashboard mind you i have a new truck i leave with 20min my dashboard was lit up like Christmas tree went back they talking about it my oxygen sensor I the guy I don't care what it is. I've literally never felt inclined to write a review after a negative experience anywhere before, but there's a first time for everything. This is the only place I've been coming to for oil changes for 10 years. Last November, I went in for a routine oil change and misc. maintenance, and the next day I noticed that my car was leaking oil all down my driveway. I went back in to ask what was wrong and all they did was scratch their head and tell me to go to a mechanic. I did, and they told me improper care during the oil change caused damage to the underside of my car. It ended up costing me over $200. I wasn't mad at 50s Penzoil - I get it, accidents happen. I went back here to tell them what happened and see if there was any way they could reimburse me for the damage THEY caused. I was told the best they could do was give me code for a free oil change in the future. Maybe not an equal reimbursement, but it's better than nothing. Flash forward to yesterday when I went to cash in on the free oil change, and I was told "there was no way to validate the value of the free oil change" so I couldn't cash it in. The best they could do was give me a pitiful $10 off discount, which I know they usually hand out like candy to everyone anyway. So just a heads up to everyone, if they directly cause any damage to your car that you need to pay for out of your own pocket, the only thing they'll do about it is give you a $10 discount. Might as well have spit in my face and call me ugly. After 10 years of this being the only place I came to, I can confidently say I will never be returning. Do better. read more

Walked outside and saw a large puddle under my brand new car, checked the oil filter and it was loose. They didn't tighten the filter and my oil leaked out. Stay away from this place, just a bunch of kids who don't know what they're doing. read more

I have been going here for years. Not sure if new management, but they did a crappy job on recent oil changed and charged me $100! No checking air filter, tires, etc. Guy was clearly "new" at the job...spilled oil everywhere. Not sure why it cost so much for a lack luster job. Will be going elsewhere now. read more

WORST SERVICE EVER!!! Went for full service and 2 days later found out that my car had ZERO antifreez. Called and spoke to Mike the manger and he told me they DON'T check antifreeze levels because it's not on their check list. Paid $90 for and oil change and you don't check the antifreeze level. WTH.... Asked to speak with owner, was told he would call me back, 3 days later, NO CALL BACK! Avoid this place like the plague. read more

Took my car here and they destroyed my car and tightened the drain plug to tight and stripped my drain hole then tried to deny it, and then cursed me because I told him he was not telling the truth the manager-Anthony acted this way. Very unprofessional, disrespectful, and not willing to help. The Assistant Manager-Mike was more professional than he was and helpful. I would never go back her and I had file a complaint with BBB and sue them to get my money back. The worse experience I have ever had. read more

I have been regular customer for many years mostly due to their honesty. After today will not go back. was told critical need for transmission fluid change due to recommended at 30,000 miles by Ford. I declined and the print out provided showed this is when used for heavy towing use. car manual states 150,000. Very disappointed at this and will not go back. read more

Just wonderful. First of all, they send a guy out to your car while you're in line for your oil change to inform you of an approximate wait time and ask if you'd like something to drink while you wait. Kudos on that. They have cameras under the car so you can watch exactly whats being done where you cant see otherwise on a screen directly to your left. The gentleman kept me informed of what he was doing step by step, and not once tried to sell me something I didn't necessarily need "because I'm a girl". I did however ask the kind man about windshield wipers which he replaced for me at a discount. You also receive a free car wash with your oil change, nice touch. The place itself is also pretty cool looking. The dormer at the top has cutouts of Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, etc in the windows. Their coffee table in the waiting room was on top of an old engine. The lounge also had an old style jukebox with oldies playing. Old signs for car shops, neon lights, and a life size Spiderman also decorated the place ( I personally loved the Spiderman, huge fan). This is the only place I'll go for an oil change. The guys are really helpful and nice. One time I actually followed the mileage suggestion on the sticker so I stopped in for a change. The guy actually sent me away saying I didn't need one till the light came on, saving me money I would've spent on an unnecessary service. Very honest! NEVER GO HERE, overcharged me for an oil change and didn't even finish the job. I had a leak start right after I got an oil change from here. I then went to another place to have it checked out and turns out the man never properly screwed everything back in so oil was just leaking from my car. They charged me $60 for an oil change when my other local place charged me $30. A COMPLETE RIP OFF!!!! read more

Everyone here is super friendly! I did not wait long at all. Mike and Sam helped me out and they were very honest guys. Mike showed me my filters and explained why I should change them. I like that because most places I go they just change them without asking and then I am charged for them. I will definitely return back to these guys! read more

They installed a fuel filter incorrectly and my vehicle was leaking gas like a BP tanker. I work 40 minutes away and when I called and told them the issue, they asked me if I could drive it back in for them to fix! I told them that was a dangerous situation that they are exposing me to and they said that they would come out and fix it. 6 hours and 4 phone calls later, nothing has changed. They've lost a lifetime customer due to their poor customer service. Oil change places are a dime a dozen, places with good customer service aren't. read more

I got an oil change today at the 50's cruise thru oil change in Southgate, MI and it was not the best experience. I've been going to this Pennzoil for years and never had as bad of an experience as I had today. To begin with there were no other customers when I got there, I pulled up to the first bay door. Apparently Tony the service manager did not want to use that bay and I had to move my car to the last bay, so I had to move to accommodate him instead of him opening the first door to accommodate me. Then I wasn't pulling in my car fast enough for him as he kept gesturing for me to go faster, I always go slowly so I don't end up with a tire in the pit bay. Finally Tony said to turn the instrument panel indicator lights on but not start the car. I turned the key to the run position but the instrument panel indicator light did not come on. Tony said to turn the key further to turn the lights on, I said I couldn't since that would start the engine. Tony then proceeded to argue with me telling me I was wrong, I've had this car for the years I know how to start my car and how to turn on the battery without starting the car. I actually had to tell him please don't argue with me to get him to stop. read more

Terrible experience! I went to their station on Telegraph in Taylor first called Quick Lube. They proceed to school me while I'm there that I should always ask to see the filter that places are putting in because most don't carry the right ones and never really change them, "ok, thanks!" And then proceed to put THE WRONG FILTER in my Jeep. I leave and moments later I get a check engine light and low oil pressure light. I take back to the place on Telegraph and they send me to "see the owner" at this 50's station on Northline. The owner (Mr Harris) then tells me that he doesn't have the filter and I should come back when he does. RIGHT! Because driving all over town again sounds like a great idea. So when I ask for a refund he is only willing to give me the $10 (up charge no less) for the filter. Horrible customer service, horrible experience, and I wouldn't go here again with my worst enemy's car! read more
