The flex pipe on my car was broken. Flex pipe is part of the exhaust manifold and catalytic convert system, all one part. Went to several repair shops for an estimate and they ranged from $1,500 to $3,000. I did a little research and found that some shops can cut the flex tube out and replace it without replacing the entire pipe. I found Mr Muffler and went there. Ali heard my car and knew exactly what was needed. He said he could fix for $165 in about an hour. He said they do about 20-30 of these a week. Great service and saved me a lot of money. read more

I came there a couple of months ago, new to the area, when a hole opened up at my catalytic converter. I found them on google and called around 3pm, explained the relatively simple issue, and stated it was my only car and I would be happy to make an appointment because I would need to stay until it was done. He said bring it first thing in the morning. I get there at 7:45 and around 8:05 a guy let me and the other two people waiting in and said the owner should be there soon. About 8:15 he shows, takes the other two who were before me, they drop their cars and go, and then he tells me that as soon as the other guy gets there they'd get it fixed right up. At 8:30, he calls and yells at the person for not being there on time.. Ok, understandable. They he got angry over a phone order or something. Then he got angry at some guy who had apparently not brought his car back when he was supposed to to get a part put on. He blamed the confusion on everything from guys being on vacation to not being able to get good help, and I dont even remember what else. But, all in all, he got my car fixed up and out with no issues and charged what I felt was a decent price (anything under $100 is fine by me. I had mixed feelings about returning with new issues, but my car was vandalized a few days ago, and I needed a window and an ignition lock cylinder (which had been acting up since before the vandalism anyway). Again, he was in a bad mood because he was late for an appointment and waiting on the guy to come in. By now, the other guys should have been back from vacation, yes? I didn't see anyone else in the shop, save for three young men who worked on the far left side doing oil changes. He wanted me to just leave the car, with literally not one spot to park safely, and he'd get to it. I said I need to know what's wrong and how much it will be. He became visibly annoyed and I reminded him it was my only car and I need to be able to drive it while I can, not potentially sit on a dangerous corner 10 miles from my home for several days. He basically said "That's not how it works" and gets all irate. So I calmly asked him if he could tell me how much, knowing full well I was going to leave. He quoted me $420 for the ignition lock cylinder, and he wasn't able to get his "glass guy" on the phone so he left it in the hands of the other employee when he arrived, and left for his appointment. I told the other guy that it's no big deal and asked him just to call me when he got that quote. He left a message but I haven't listened to it yet. The owner said he expected it would be about $200-$250. So now we're at $620-$670. I went home, got the part for $28 and glass for $50, and put both in my damn self. Thank you for reminding me how wonderful it is when a man tried to take advantage of a couple of women (one being my 77 year old mother, whose car it is), and is generally a dick. It's very empowering. I cannot believe that this person thinks someone will just drop their car off and what, f#cking walk home? And leave it til he feels like getting around to it? There were vehicles still parked on that lot that were there when I was there the first time. It's a front and nothing more. Main giveaway is that I never saw the dude actually work. Just get angry and complain. Maybe you can't keep help because of your attitude. read more

The quality of work from this place is garbage. Do not go to these guys. After getting an oil change, I started leaking oil from the oil filter housing because of them tightening the filter and breaking the seal. When I went to get it checked out by them and asked them to replace the seal, the guy became very angry, and obviously so when we called them out on their terrible work they had done. They did not want to take accountability and said they wouldn't do nothing. They scam their customers and if they were to ruin someone's car they wouldn't do nothing for you in return to fix it. read more

If i could only give this shop a score of 10 out of 5, i would. But the rating maxes out at 5. So i will give it a perfect score of 5. Why? Because this shop is trustworthy, professional, accommodating, respectful and honest. I brought my Ford Focus there about three weeks ago because of a problem with my left rear tire rubbing against the fender and bumper whenever i go over a hump or hit a pothole. It turned out i had a broken trailing arm and a slew of other broken parts connected to it. So Mr. Abe the manager had his mechanics fix all things that were wrong with my car-- all for a fair price!!! Now my car is driving very smoothly again! Thank you very much, Mr. Muffler! Mr. Muffler - Westland was recommended to me by a friend and I have been extremely impressed with the service I've received on both of my visits here. My first visit was for brakes and my car was taken care of very promptly at a cost far less than what I was quoted at the shop I've always used. When I thought I might need new shocks because of the mileage, Abe took me with him on a test drive and then thoroughly inspected the car on a lift and assured me that I didn't need to spend money on shocks. Abe is very honest and professional. I was told by another repair shop that my daughters car needed a catalytic converter. I took it to Mr Muffler, dropped it off Monday night. Got a call early Tuesday morning telling me it was not the catalytic converter(over $600 to repair) it was the flap, an $80 repair! My transmission had ice build up around transfer case and I thought it was muffler damage. They double checked my exhaust system and made sure then let my truck warm up inside and clear some ice and snow away. The vibration and noise went away and he didn't charge me at all. I have used Mr. Muffler a few times over the years and never had a problem of any kind. A few weeks ago I was getting a rough idle and took my truck there for a tune up. ( spark plugs and wires ). The following morning I was having problem keeping it running, very rough idle. So I stopped back in and Abe came outside and took a look at it. He put a loose vacuum tube back on which I didn't know he did. He told me to drive it for a couple of days and see what happens. The idle was still rough. It was trying to stall at lights. The company doing these reviews called me that night for a review, at that time it wasn't a good one. I just came back from Mr muffler. Abe and one of his guys did some extra clean up work on it. It runs like a champ. I would go back there in a second. They were all extremely polite and did what they had to do to make it right. I was very pleased with the treatment considering the review that was posted. Bottom line is , these guys are extremely professional and do first rate work. The whole thing was one big misunderstanding. I cant remove the old review or it would be gone. I am so sorry for what I told the lady on the phone when she was asking me about my experience there.
