You are reserving for the view of the beach. Nothing else is special about this place. We sat next to the filthiest window blinds. Dirt, hair, just gross. We ordered drinks, the waiter came back to take our order before we had drinks, not even water. Each waiter and server was younger than the last. The food was odd. It seemed like an entire onion shredded and fried on top of almost every meal. And then add chips. My chicken teriyaki had enough meat for a family of four and an entire bottle of teriyaki sauce. Barely any vegetables in the dish, except onion. The other entree was a fried chicken breast on mashed potatoes with an onion fried on top. I don't know what it is trying to be. It's casual, but you can only get a table with a reservation. It was so weird. read more

My husband and I had dinner here when looking for a place that was open on a Monday evening. Overall, it was a great experience! We found the three course dinner to be a great deal. The restaurant was fairly busy when we arrived, but also very large, so we had no trouble getting a table. For the starter, I had the garlic bread while my husband had the fish cake. The garlic bread was very simple but delicious. For the main course, I opted for the beer battered fish while my husband ordered peppered chicken. Both entrees were excellent. The fish was perfectly fried and served with traditional mashed peas, while the chicken was served on top of a generous pile of mashed potatoes. For dessert, we had the chocolate cake and the coconut and jam sponge cake. Both were good, but I would especially recommend the chocolate cake...it was excellent, very rich, and also a shareable portion. read more

Nice location and great prices - Food is hit'n'miss We were looking for a nice place that allows to bring dogs. This one here does and even has a great location by the sea. It's right below the Restaurant 55 North, but has a different menu. We ordered some beers while waiting for a table - the place was packed. After about 30' we were seated (outside because of our doggy). It was a bit cold, but most of the wind was blocked by some windows and there were heaters too. Menus cost between 10£ and 19£. That does also include a starter and a dessert. So, prise-wise it's a pretty cool place. There are chicken, fish, vegetarian and meat items on the list. So pretty much something for everybody. We ordered some fishcakes and Garlic Bread for starters, a seafood platter and a Burger for the main and cake and ice cream for the dessert. Some more beer and cider to got with. The food was pretty average. Nothing really stood out, nothing was really wrong. All a bit plain though. Seafood tasted fresh, portions were good sized. The place itself is nice with its great location and it's fun to have dinner here. Atmosphere was good. Service tried their best, but it's just too many guests for that small amount of waitresses and waiters, very friendly though. It's a place to have a fun night out. Not much for the food. But given the prices, the whole package deal here is still an attractive one. You won't leave hungry. read more

Would not recommend and would never return. For my main course, (salted chilli chicken). the dish was saturated in a sweet chilli sauce. Could not taste the salted chicken or the fresh chilli as the dish was so overpowering with a sweet chilli sauce. Had to transfer the dinner from.the bowl to the underplate to reduce the sauce content on the food. Was not even going to tell the staff member who was taking the plates away until my husband presuaded me to say something. I did and minutes later a manager came out and unbelievably had a go at me after I explained to him again about the meal. He commented that I told a 16 year old to go into the chef to tell him that the dinner was disgusting. While I explained the issue with the dinner and did comment that the dinner was disgusting, at no point did I tell anybody to tell the chef that the dinner was disgusting. Neither did I know that the staff member was a 16.year old. My husband stated the same and also said it was the company's choice who they employed and this was nothing got to do with the quality of the meal. The manager walked off and when I looked around the restaurant i could see that other customers were looking over. I found the hostile experience with the manager very humiliating and embarrassing and it ruined our night as we had never an encounter with a manager like this before. Looking for a table for a party of 6. We rang to a bunch of restaurants but decided we would go to 55° North. When we rang we were told we could book a table which was great. We didn't book at the time and later the same day as we walked by the restaurant, we decided that we would walk in and book our table. While in the restaurant the female sever approached us and told us that we could not book in the restaurant face to face and that we should ring and book... this in itself is a complete joke. We left the restaurant and while standing outside the premises, we rang the restaurant and booked our table. What a pointless inconvenience... The service in here is shocking!!! We waited 30mins for drinks. I ordered the surf and turf and what I got was a real disappointment and I really don't think I got value for money in anyway. I had a small dollop of mash, piece of steak, 3 small crab claws and 3 prawns. For £23 this was pretty disappointing. This is the 3rd time we have had food here and each time we remain hopeful that service and food would improve. Sadly it hasn't, we definitely won't be back. read more

This is a lovely restaurant/cafe. The views out the panoramic window look out onto the Atlantic Ocean and it is an absolutely spectacular view, especially on a sunny day like today. I had a steak sandwich with wedges which was delicious. My girlfriend had seafood chowder which she very much enjoyed. The ingredients are fresh and delicious. The drinks were a bit poor. Flat Coke with no ice. The service was friendly and pleasant. read more

The stairs lead to another door into a dark hallway to the restrooms. It felt a bit sketchy. I sure hope that's not the only restroom. What about disabled patrons? read more

Really happy with this place - so much so that we went two nights in a row. Reasonable kids menu and lots of choices for adults. Good service and free wifi. We ordered small pizza for kids plus a starter order of bread. Tall Tenants beer and fish pie for me while Julie had rib eye steak - pretty overdone but that's the way they roll here in Ireland. read more

Traveling on holiday with my daughter and a friend. Our B&B owner recommended we try this place for a lunch since we were hungry from the days travels. We are sooooooo very glad she did! Truly excellent service (Thanks Jordana!), delicious food, and a beautiful view of the ocean! I had the seafood chowder myself, and my daughter and friend laughed at me for my involuntary 'mmmm' every time I took a bite. It had such a delicate and deep flavor. I could not stop eating! Excellent view from restaurant. We both had the Caesar Salad which we thought was very good. I had the Chilli Beef Penne Pasta which I loved (slightly spicy), and my wife had the Pasta Carbonara, Tagliatelle, Broccoli and Creamy Sauce. She like it but they substituted snow peas instead of the broccoli which she was looking forward to. My wife had the Ice cream parfait which she liked. I also had a glass of Middleton's Very Rare Whiskey, which I really liked. The restaurant was completely full. The staff seemed a little overwhelmed. Instead of one person attending our table, it became anyone who stopped by. Would I go again? Yes. We were there as part of the Rick Steve's tour group that night but, if ever back in town, I'd go again. read more

While the views were beautiful, the food was pretty bad. The three courses for the price of one is their only hook. The food looked really dull, and tasted pretty bland. I ordered the vegetable chow mein, and it was literally just peppers and onions. It was DRENCHED in sauce, and there was a little white rice I found at the bottom of the bowl that unfortunately has been ruined by being saturated in said sauce. Super unfortunate. Great food at a good price, early bird sees the place packed and very good service from pleasant staff, we have returned several times and told our friends to visit this restaurant, the portions are very big for the main and I felt bad about having to leave some of the food as it was delicious. Good food with a great view. I got the breakfast bap (sandwich) because it was one of the cheapest items on the menu (which isn't so cheap, but that's the UK for ya!). My friends got huge plates of breakfast and some lattes that looked tasty. They were surprised at how large the portions were. It's dog-friendly, so it was really nice seeing all the pups next to their owners. Really chill place to enjoy some long meals with friends and family (and dogs). read more

Visited twice in the last few years. On the first occasion we were refused admission because our daughter was wheel chair bound. The staff said that they could not admit her as there was no room and it would not be fair on the other diners! We were were very unhappy but put it down to back experience on the day. Visited again on Bank holiday Monday. It was busy but not overly. Waited so long for our main course that we had our coats on to leave when it arrived! Again gave them the benefit of doubt. meal was ok. We ordered dessert (part of the deal) waited again! One arrived correct the other had to be sent back. We also ordered the complimentary coffee that was promised. This time we really gave up, as as we had waited for ages and nothing had arrived. I then went to pay the bill was told that others were served before us because they had ordered starters! Dessert was delayed because the chef had to whip the cream! No mention made of what had happened to coffees. We paid the bill in full. Owner of cafe happened to walk by, asked if we enjoyed the meal and explained it was the worst experience ever so she just walked on without comment!. Customer service very poor. Thankfully there are lots of good places to eat in Portrush where the staff value your custom, so we will never have to go back!!!! read more

It's loud and crowded, the food is mediocre at best, the bathroom is two whole floors away, and the waiter was almost inaudible. Worst of all, and BE WARNED, if they stick you in the corner booth, they will forget that you're even there. Wait times were abysmal. read more

Great place to eat - but make sure you book especially on the weekend. The staff are great and try to keep young children entertained with pictures and crayons. The seating is great - downstairs and upstairs. I like upstairs where you can see the Atlantic coast out the massive windows while you are dining. The food is good and abundant. The service was quick with little waiting time between courses. Car parking is a bit tricky though - theres enough parking for I'd say 8 cars on the street. Other than that you have to park on Causeway Street, Mark Street or the middle of Portrush and walk to the restaurant. Good restaurant, good value with good facilities and a nice décor. read more

Only arrived in the town at 6:30pm. Needed to find somewhere for the family to eat quickly. As it was airshow weekend I thought I better call ahead to book. Called and asked for a booking, they said just come down. Took a chance and went down and don't regret it. The place was packed but we had a table for 5 in 5 minutes. Moments after ordering, the food was in front of us and was absolutely delicious. Heartily recommend the pulled pork slammer. There was a buzz about the place you don't get in many places anymore and no-one had anything but a smile on their face. Will be back again and again. read more
