We've tried a lot of the menu here as we stayed at the hotel for almost a week. Breakfast comes with the room so it's silly not to have it, and it's one of only two restaurants up here. The Causeway Breakfast Grill includes everything in an Irish breakfast, lots of protein and a couple bits of carb: sausage, back bacon with a fried egg, chewy potato bread and yeasty soda farl, grilled tomato and mushrooms as well. Other options include pancakes, an okay smoked salmon with scrambled eggs, and surprisingly delicious milky Porridge. There's a Continental Breakfast buffet that's open to everyone, and it has all the staples. Cereal, yogurt, and toast are sprinkled with a sparse selection of fruit, and a few pastries that run out fast. The coffee is awful. I don't think anyone here knows how to make coffee. Make it in your room or just have a nice cup of tea. Most of the food is alright, though, things like the Roast Silverside of Beef Sunday can be quite bland. The beef is tough, the Yorkshire pudding is great, and the Brussels sprouts are steamed to a dreadful pulp. There's a caramelised onion and goat's cheese tartlet that's more like a quiche, filled with fluffy eggs and plenty of creamy cheese, and it makes a nice, light lunch. Fish and chips is always a good option, and the Open Steak Sandwich is my favorite thing by far. The McAtamney's rolled rump is quite tender and the peppercorn sauce is great, with a lot of fresh black pepper for flavor. Afternoon Tea is only for two so if you're dining solo, not only are you lonely, you also don't get tea. It's a fun selection, enjoyed the sausage roll and smoked salmon, and scones are always lovely. The cheesecake is freezer-burnt, but everything else is alright. If you want dessert, the Bushmills Pecan Nut Pie is the only one I tried, and I love it. It's basically a a pecan pie, but that happens to be my favorite pie, and they make a good one. The rooms have no refrigeration so you're mostly eating here if you don't want to drive elsewhere. The food is okay overall, but the prices are rather high compared to less touristy location. read more

So this is the perfect spot to unwind after braving the treacherous Giant's Causeway... seriously, if you're not careful you could break a leg. The hotel has a very nice bar and sitting area, and if you're coming in with a group, it is ideal. However, the bar is really just a service bar, so if you're alone, you'll have to deal with sitting at a table, and perhaps taking up more space than you would like... Still, overall, it is a pretty good experience. read more

Ordered a battered cod and pan seared chicken. Their battered cod was very fresh, and the battered portion was perfectly crispy. I'd definitely recommend. My fries didn't look as thick as my neighboring table's and it was slightly overcooked though. My friend got a pan seared chicken. It was chicken breast, so it was very dry and a bit hard to eat. The mashed potato wasn't the greatest, but it tasted great with their black pepper gravy. The gravy is not thick at all, and I do actually like it a lot. Their onion ring was also perfectly crispy and not overly greasy. I also took a couple sips of the Bailey coffee and I loved the cream part. The overall coffee was great. read more

Great location right at the entrance of Giant's Causeway. Our room came with breakfast which included Continental as well as a small menu to order from. The hotel itself has a lot of character with older features but everything was clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We booked this last minute due to some weather that was coming up in the area and we're definitely glad that we were able to take advantage of the Dusk to Dawn hours of the causeway while being at the hotel read more

A convenient option if you are finishing up the Causeway later in the day. Stopped here after a few hours at the causeway. The weather had turned & driven many people away & after the hike up the hill my group was tired hungry so we decided to grab a bite here before the drive back to Belfast to return our rental car. Service was fine & there was no wait for a table. I went with the steak burger which was also fine but not particularly what i think of when i have a burger like back home. It was more like a meatloaf patty dressed like a burger. Fries were good though. Brie starter was really good. Wife had the chili chicken which i liked better than my burger. Nice atmosphere here. One of the food options around Giant's Causeway is the Causeway hotel. The building and interior are nice, seemingly more upscale than other surrounding options. The menu is nothing extraordinary, there's burgers, sandwiches, fried fish. I tried the salmon, which did have a nice presentation. The fish was cooked alright but had very little seasoning. Mashed potatoes also nothing to write home about. Small amount of veggies on the side were a welcome addition. This dish was about £22. Service was rather slow, they seem to be understaffed especially for a busy tourist area. read more

Yeah... this sucked. My mom and I made our way here to eat during our visit to the Giant's Causeway. Somehow the food wasn't the worst part, even though I threw it all up later that night. I definitely knew I would as I was eating it but I just needed sustenance. Our first impression walking into the hotel was that none of the staff looked like they wanted to be there. The strangest part was an older woman (most likely a supervisor) yelling at this boy (who couldn't have been older than 18) right next to us about the position of the forks on the table and how they weren't exactly 2 inches from the edge??? My mom and I were giggling in disbelief because it fully felt like we were watching a skit. The only reason I feel no remorse writing this review is because she was so awful. She later walked up to our table with the fakest smile asking how we were (and we obviously lied). I asked him for a refill after she left the room. He apologized and said he wasn't allowed to take another order until he was finished fixing the place settings. I don't know why they prioritize something that no one would EVER pay attention to over taking orders. This made even less sense because the restaurant was so empty at the time. They also give you one thin paper napkin so I don't understand why she wouldn't just have them pre-roll silverware in cloth napkins to if she truly cares so much about appearance. Beats me. It is very obvious to me that they are trying their best to make their restaurant appear "luxurious" but this isn't possible with the lack in quality and the older staff members just come off as condescending. I genuinely feel for the younger guys working there and hope they're doing well. We still laugh about how bad the whole experience was. Side note: I wish I was joking but this grown man eating at a table near us was watching Instagram Reels at full volume our entire meal and not one of them asked him to even turn it down. read more

After our walk down the Giant Causeway we grabbed a bite to eat at the restaurant inside the hotel. Food was good, what I didn't like was the skin on the fish. Service wasn't as great either their not really friendly. I would think it would be better service since their business survives on their customers. Everything came out in a decent amount of time. This was a great restaurant to stop and eat at, if you have the time! Like most restaurants in the world, they are understaffed and over worked, so please be patient with the staff! We were here on a bus tour and with the restaurant being a bit understaffed, my husband and I decided to go with sides and appetizers so that we had enough time to eat and enjoy. We ordered: two sides of mashed potatoes, side of Cesar salad that came with ham, two blonde beers and the olive and hummus platter. The platter was *chefs kiss*, so if you are a hummus lover you should definitely order this! The blonde was tasty and a good switch up from the Guinness we had been drinking the past week. read more

We had gone on a tour and one of the stops were the giants Causeway. We still had a bit of time sonwe decided to have a little snack at the restaurant that was in the hotel. It had a cute room areas to be seated. We were seated in a quiet area that we had all to our selves. The staff were very nice and checked up on periodically. We ordered our food. I had the salmon and it was amazing. It was the period amount for a snack in the middle of the day. The staff go us out real fast as we mentioned we did not have a lot of time. During our stay at the Causeway Hotel, we had dinner here once and breakfast twice. All of the meals were excellent! For dinner, we shared the fried Brie as an appetizer, and it was very good. For the main course, I had the ratatouille while my husband had the pepper stack. The ratatouille was decent, and served inside a delicious pastry bowl. My husband really enjoyed his chicken and steak. For dessert, we shared the sticky toffee pudding. It was excellent, but so rich that I never would have been able to finish it by myself...but it was perfect for two! Dinner was good, but I think the breakfast was even better. This was definitely the best breakfast we had during our entire trip. There is a continental breakfast for guests to help themselves to, and also full hot breakfasts made to order. My husband had the causeway grille both mornings, which included black and white pudding, sausage, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, griddled potato bread, and griddled soda bread. I had the vegetarian breakfast the first day, which consisted of eggs, beans, mushrooms, and the griddled breads. Every item in both of the meals was excellent-I'd highly recommend either one! On the second day, I decided to try the smoked salmon, which was served with eggs and toasted wheaten bread, and they also let me add the griddled soda bread to the order. read more

The tarlet was outstanding, both crust and filling. Probably the best Caesar Salad we've ever had. Also loved in particular the tartar sauce that came with the fish, I'm not usually a fan of tartar sauce but it was delicious. read more

Great option here at causeway entrance { there aren't many} wasn't expecting much but the food was rather tasty and the digs cozy and relaxing. Great treat before or after the cold hike. Nice rooms with cozy chairs to eat and drink. Food had traditional items as well as some non traditional items like wraps and burgers. read more

This restaurant is within the Causeway Hotel - a quaint and comfortable hotel near Bushmills NI. We had a fabulous stay, and dinner was part of that. I had the Fish and Chips, and it was both traditional and delicious. My daughter had a tofu dish which was very contemporary and also delicious. The service was excellent and the dining room had a more formal ambiance, despite the very reasonable prices. Our server suggested a bottle of wine and we were able to take that with us into the lounge later in the evening, to finish it. Breakfast the following morning was great - again excellent service and I enjoyed oatmeal with berry compote, a nice change from a full Irish breakfast. read more

We hadn't been here for many years and had heard poor reports- don't believe them! The restaurant was delightful and food was good - good honest cooking, generous portions. I had the tofu curry which was hot and spicy - just right- and companions had the haddock and salmon which they enjoyed. The cheese board was generous and the apple crumple and pecan pie disappeared with ease. If you are in the area try it his hotel - well worth it! read more

Very snobby staff. When arriving, asked to have dinner. Was told to go around to the head waiter to see if we could be seated. Asked if there was an issue with time we were arriving and was told not at all. Walk to head waiter and ask to be seated for dinner. Asked if we were guests of the hotel and I said no. Asked if we had reservations and I said no. I asked if we had an issue and he said no, let me just take a look. Comes right back and says follow me. There were six open tables and seven tables occupied. Waited five minutes to have someone take our drink order. Asked for one glass with ice and one without. Given two without. Asked for one glass with ice. Got two with ice. Four glasses for two people?! Duck breast should have come with a table saw and steak was bland. Guinness was good and cold! read more
