    Bacon Jam Benedict

Came here for the first time with my family this past Saturday for brunch! 622 North has a great reputation in Blacksburg. I've been meaning to try it, but just never got around to it. We are there for brunch and were pleasantly surprised. The interior of the restaurant gives a homie feel to it. It is very cozy and welcoming. The service is great, efficient, helpful, and super friendly. Our server did an excellent job filling out waters and coffees, as well as answering our questions about the menu. Their brunch menu is extensive and offers a great variety of entrees. And I cannot go without mentioning the price! Considering the quality and quantity of the food, the prices were amazing! I had a hard time choosing my entree, everything looked so good! But I ended up ordering the Carbonara scrambled eggs. While my mom ordered the Bacon Jam Eggs Benedict, my dad ordered the Potato Bowl, my sister got the Chicken & Waffles, and my grandmother ordered the regular eggs Benedict. We ended up splitting their special cinnamon churro sweet bread as well. The sweet bread was smaller than expected, but nonetheless was still very yummy. It was a very moist, Bundt styled bread reminiscent of monkey bread. My carbonara scramble included two eggs scrambled with pecorino, pancetta, black pepper, and spinach. topped with hollandaise crispy garlic, and crispy prosciutto. with mini hash browns & toast/bread. This was a wonderful meal bursting with so much flavor. The hollandaise was light and the saltiness of the prosciutto and pancetta complimented it very well. Really, really enjoyed this dish and it was like nothing I've had before. The rosemary home fries that came with it very superb as well. Not greasy, but perfectly crispy, with just the right amount of salt and rosemary. I also opted for a biscuit as my bread of choice. It was flaky, buttery, and yummy! The rest of the table enjoyed their dishes too. Noting on how impressed they were with the flavors and balance of the dishes. Overall, I was more than impressed with 622 North. They serve the best brunch in Blacksburg in my opinion. The menu has something for everyone ranging from traditional brunch dishes to more unique ones. The service was perfect. Our server did a good job checking in on us and attending to us. He was also more than helpful in answering questions we had regarding the menu. The food is really tasty and you can tell they use higher quality ingredients. I thought the portions were nice as well, especially considering the price range. No one had a single complaint about their food and we all left more than satisfied! I will definitely be returning for brunch and I'll have to check it out for dinner as well!! Would 100% recommend for a nice brunch in Blacksburg.

Amazing meal in a cozy atmosphere with lots of fun menu items to choose between. The service was great and the food was delicious! Highly recommend! Especially the beef dishes and the Mule. Yum!

Fairly good experience here! Came on a Saturday for lunch, and it was very quiet. Service was friendly and prompt. As for the food, it was good too! I went with the Turkey BLT which I had no complaints about. I can't really attest to how the place is at dinner, but I imagine that it could get quite busy. Didn't order any alcohol, so I don't really have much to add there. Solid spot, and I'd come back to try the dinner.

I had the spicy chicken sandwich which was pretty good, I'd also recommend the bruschetta, fig and bacon bites, and spinach and artichoke dip. we had a big party and our server was super organized and patient with everyone. There are several different seating areas which is nice for privacy. Kind of a cozy / Homey vibe.

I had a really nice time at 622. The ambiance was relaxing and serene. The restaurant was a converted home, with unique classy decor with paintings, pottery, and blown glass decorating the walls. Our server was extremely nice and had a thorough knowledge of the menu. She asked follow up questions during the order process which was much appreciated. Food and drinks were good, with the potential to be great. It should be noted that waters emptied with no refills, and drinks took a little while. I really enjoyed my steak salad, it included fresh ingredients that tasted of quality. The flavors were somewhat muted, I would have liked a little more pop of flavor. Our appetizer was my favorite part, we ordered the bacon jam crostini. No explanation just delicious! As a Richmond native I also wanted to add that I was impressed by the prices of their beer and cocktails. I ordered a 5.50 beer that normally costs 8 in Richmond. While I wasn't blown away I enjoyed my time at 622 and if I find myself in the area again I would consider stopping by.

This place has been the standard in excellence for years. I super enjoy coming here for food and drink. The staff is awesome and very accommodating. Next time you're in Blacksburg go there, you'll thank me later!

Food + atmosphere = 4 stars. The hostesses standing around idle and not engaging with customers as you come and go = 1 star lost. Food was sooooo good and fresh.

Let's start with the positives: They were flexible, let us change the wine for soft drinks. Despite getting there right at dinner rush, they got the food out quick. Portion sizes were good. The bad: The food itself was okay, not mind blowing. Would say the pizza was good, but it seems like we both got edge slices that seemed to be more bread than topping, luck of the draw there maybe. The dessert was the saving grace, simple and not too sweet. Overall a positive experience but i'd be more inclined to give this 3.5 if Yelp had half stars.

Sometimes it is only open for takeout and the tiny hours are limited to around the weekends for dinner. I had considered trying their Roman style pizza, but a pesto pasta special enticed me. It came with a granular, sort of cheese and a robust flavor. I thought it could've done with some fresh tomatoes on top or something of that nature to balance it out, but even as is the pasta was springy and the walnuts that came with it filling. The special soda I ordered was not available, and I got switched to a regular root beer, which to be fair was quite good.

The restaurant also doubles as a wine shop. A couple of us had beef cannelloni and one had a sausage and pasta dish, along with a calamari starter and Caesar salads. Calamari was hot fresh and very tender, with a good dipping sauce. Salads were crisp and tangy, with the addition of delicious bread. The baked Cannelloni was superb with a ton of flavor and served piping hot. Tasted like some real love went into it; same with the pasta/sausage dish. Large portions and prices were reasonable were quite reasonable. Finished with some light and airy chocolate mousse. Overall, outstanding service and food, especially when considering the limited options for finer dining in Blacksburg. Only drawback IMO is the quality of the food and service is miles above the ambiance and decor. Could still be rustic, but with some interior color and server dress coordination, would make for a classier dining experience.

This year I happened to go to Table 50, located on Market Street in the heart of Downtown Roanoke. Table 50 is one of those fine-dining restaurants in all the sense of the word. It is known for its upscale, progressive American cuisine that uses locally sourced ingredients from the nearby farmers' market. It offers an elegant atmosphere with features like copper tables and brick walls. Exquisite food like filet mignon. And exceptional customer service. After making my reservation through the OpenTable app, I showed up the following day right on time. A young lady hostess greeted me at the Host's station and after confirming my reservation took me to my table at a corner of the restaurant. My eloquent server Trent came by soon after to give me a warm welcome and take my drink order. I asked him to see if the bartender could make me a Pina Colada Mocktail. When he brought me the Mocktail, he took my food order. As a starter, I ordered the Seared Jumbo Sea Scallops served with a Parmigiano-Reggiano & Brandy Cream Sauce. Followed by a Mixed Green House Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing. And as my main course the Bienville Filet, a Certified Angus Beef 8oz Filet Mignon served with Fried Shrimps, Asparagus, Mashed Potatoes, and a New Orleans style parmesan cream sauce. My server then went to place the order and came back with a rectangular shape plate filled with a sliced baguette and little bowl of whipped butter. I always say that the quality of a restaurant's bread and water is an indication of the quality of its cuisine. My server did an exceptional job at bringing out all my items at the proper pace. And all was amazingly delicious. For the Grand Finale dessert, I asked for the Chocolate Mousse Torte. This is one of my favorites desserts out of all the restaurants around. My server brought it out on.a white plate with the words Happy Birthday written with a chocolate dip. It was delicious, even though this year they didn't include a candle on top. As if this wasn't enough, after paying and going to the restroom to wash my hands, as I was headed towards the door, my server runs by me and opens the door, thanking me for my visit on this special occasion and wishing that I come back soon. What a way to end an outstanding dining experience!

And Stave & Cork in Downtown Salem, Virginia is a perfect example. As soon as I arrived, an elegant yet friendly lady greeted and welcomed me, explaining this unique establishment and what it had to offer. I explained how today I came to learn about the place and have dinner with a non-alcoholic drink since I was driving. She served me a glass of water and explained the different items on the menu. The menu included artisanal cheeses, charcuterie boards, house-made dips, and made-to-order paninis, as well as a Cheesecake Flight sweet. I ordered the Peaks of Otter Panini which contained Pulled Pork, Swiss Cheese, Pickles, and Mustard. And was served with kettle fried potato chips. While I waited for my order to be served on one of their beautiful polished walnut tables, I observed how some guests had a Wine Flight paired with a Charcuterie Board. And how their knowledgeable staff and owner guided the guests through unique varietals. When my food was ready it was brought to my table. The Peaks of Otter Panini was amazing. It had fresh, juicy pieces of pork, that together with the Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard tasted more like a gourmet Cuban Sandwich. And the chips were also fresh and crispy. Before leaving I walked around and noticed they had a back dining room as well as an outside dining area. Their wine selection focused on small, boutique wineries, offering a diverse range of local, domestic, and international wines. They also had some shelves full of local artists woodwork items for sale. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and its high-quality food, wines, and products from local artists. On my way out I met with a local couple of friends and remained talking with them for almost an hour. Again, I highly recommend this place and am looking forward to returning with some friends.
