I decided to write a review after an awful experience at this facility. I have been going here for years and always had a good experiences however the last 2 times I have been there the experience has been HORRENDOUS. I was gifted a $200 gift card there and I noticed that when I was going in using the gift card they were getting annoyed! Last time the lady was so annoyed she gave me the worst massage and today I got her again! She said her name was Lily, she was so aggressive it was like she was purposely trying to hurt me during the massage because she was pissed I used a gift card! On top of that she was burping over me the entire massage. I was so disgusted. I told her she was hurting me multiple times and she didn't stop and instead continued to dig her nails into me. I told her I saw the promotion and she confirmed $45 was the price. I got to the place and told him I just called and I was a first time customer looking to use the promotion on their website. Just be aware that they are upstairs....so once you walk in go to the right and they check you in. Then whichever service you want, their rooms are all over the place. Firstly, the man who massaged me kept rubbing his groin on my arms, I tried to stay calm and imagine it was a mistake but it made me very tense and uncomfortable. Then my boyfriend's masseuse left the session to retrieve the hot rocks, it was only a few minutes but it bothered me mostly because I tipped $20 cash for the both of us and the man and woman kept saying "More tip, More tip" after I paid them. I felt awful because that was all the cash I had ($140 and they didn't take cards). I told them I had no more cash & the guy pulls out a notepad and says he can write down my credit card info. Things I don't like during a massage: - Someone punching my feet - Someone punching my hands - Someone karate chopping my back - Someone lifting my limbs into the air and then dropping them - Not being asked what type of pressure I like - Leaving with bruises - Cold feet This was literally the worst "massage" experience I have ever had. My boyfriend got the Groupon hot stone couples massage for us, and let me outline the experience: We entered a tiny hallway which smelled like urine and sadness. Upstairs we found massage "rooms", aka beds separated by curtains. We were ushered into our "room" and instructed to undress and lay under the room temperature towel provided. My feet were freezing for the entire experience. Mind you, I'm 5'2". If I'm 5'2" and your dumb towel doesn't cover my feet, you're doing it wrong. Also, if you're using a cold towel to cover your clients, you're doing it wrong. The massage "therapist" then climbed onto the table with her knees on either side of my head to assault my back in ways it's never been assaulted before. If I hadn't been under the delusion that my boyfriend was enjoying his experience, I'd have asked her to stop so I could leave. Then, she removed my underwear without any notice. There was no gentle caress, no flowers, no dinner or wine. Just an abrupt yank. If I hadn't seen the incredibly classy "Keep calm and keep your underwear on" sign, I'd have been concerned I was about to get the happy ending treatment. I'll give her this - she did pull them back up. But when she moved on to my legs, she yanked each cheek of my underwear into the greatest wedgie I've ever experienced, thus eliminating any potentially pleasing sensation from the "massage". Not that there was any pleasing sensation from my legs being lifted into the air and then dropped, but I was hopeful. The hot stones lasted about five minutes at the end of the experience. Those were okay. I think the most awful part was the tip. Personally, I felt worse than when I entered, but my boyfriend wanted to leave a $10 tip as a courtesy (the full price of the couples massage was listed on the wall as $80, so this was more than 10%). We got up front and he laid the cash on the counter. The woman said "This is tip? You need to give more, we work very hard." Flabbergasted, my boyfriend handed her another $5. (Personally i'd have taken the $10 back and left them a 4 letter word at this point.) Instead of saying thank you, she scoffed at our five dollars, saying "Just $15?" Mind you, this is almost a 20% tip for the absolute worst service I've ever received. Just got back from a couples massage. Started off interesting when we walked in as we were greeted with a hello. When I said "hi" back, I was immediately shushed. (Most likely since a massage was going on and it's all one room just separated by curtains) My boyfriend enjoyed his masseuse although it was an interesting experience. He said she was able to got his knots out although she got on top of him while he was pn his back and had her knees on his butt while digging into his back with her elbows. He couldnt help but laugh. My masseuse however was horrible. She was extremely rough and kept hitting me in the head. She also got on top of me but straddled me instead. She kept whacking me in the head and kept massaging my bones and going over my knots. I feel like I was getting assaulted. About 20 minutes in I almost told her to just stop and I'd take the loss. I ended up just pulling my arms away from her since she kept hurting me. She must have not heard me saying ow since she had her airpods in. Overall if you're looking for a relaxing massage, DO NOT GO HERE. Both ladies did not provide a relaxing massage. If you're looking for a cheap massage in a short notice (we booked ours tonight at 745 since our other massage got canceled on us and we were able to come in at 830) then you have to get lucky and hope to get the lady my boyfriend got. It is not the biggest spa but I went back there and I told her where to massage and I felt great afterwards. The prices are very reasonable. Beware! I have been to this place a few times and every trip is more frustrating than the last. First, it is extremely hard to make an appointment over the phone due to their lack of understanding of the English language. I'm trying not to sound racist (I am NOT) but even a simple request to pick a date and time is a huge challenge, and after every call I am not 100% sure that I have a confirmation. This is important because I have been there while people have come in off the street for a massage but they are full. The price of the massage IS very good but you must tip well or they ask for more money. This has not happened to me as I tip $20 for each massage but I have been walking up the stairs to their office and heard them complain to the customer that the tip was not enough. I have also purchased their deal: 3 massage for $120. This is a fantastic price! But, there was not expiration date on the business card (yes, business card) that they wrote my "receipt/gift certificate on." Then eight months later, when I mentioned my "gift certificate," the only person there made me wait while she texted the owner to make sure it was OK. This doesn't sound to bad but waiting for 15 minutes while getting dirty looks and a nasty attitude (from the lady who was about to give me a massage) totally ruined the experience. They are great value for money. However, they are not really a relaxing massage spa. Some of their methods are quite rough. especially around wrist and ankle. Not sure where did they learn this technique but they will give a twist to the wrist and ankle. In my left wrist, I had a mild injury and I was managing it by carefully avoiding any direct pressure on this. During the massage, however, the lady took my hand and did that special twist. I was able to stop her from doing any further damage but now I am having ongoing pain. They also have a technique of hitting at the feet and back. Perhaps some people like rough massage. Now I am regretting now why I didn't discuss all these earlier. So if you really go there, you will have to first guide the person on what you want ( English not being their primary language it will be a challenge but you will manage it) and then if you like the person use her for all repeat visits. The lady I went a couple of times earlier was nice for some reason got pretty rough ( massage wise) during my last trip and they consider is a deep massage. Where to begin. I found this place on Groupon and I thought it was a great deal $79.00 for a couples massage. I usually go to the Fountain Spa and easily $300.00. So that was a plus. So my husband and I get to this place and it's a store front, and you have to walk up a flight of stairs. There is a door on your left and up a few more stairs one on your right. A woman came out of the left door and led us to the right.We walked in where they check you in and its one large room separated by curtains. the placed looked clean but didn't seem very private as another couple came in right behind us for a foot massage and where only separated by a curtain. Once led to our "room" curtain, there was a sign that said relax keep your underwear on and 2 beds, the lady told us to take everything off except our underwear and placed a towel down. We had just been led in and the masseuse was already asking are you ready. which we were not. We lay face down and cover our backsides with this towel which was not very large. the ladies come in and start massaging my back, then they pull my underwear down revealing my but cheeks and I thought to myself WTH they don't do this at the fountain spa.... So I lift me head and see my husbands butt cheeks are up in the air too! So in my head I am like ok he's not doing saying anything so the massage continued. My masseuse massaged my butt for like 15 minutes!!!! I didn't care for that, my butt is never sore and it felt awkward. The massage continued upper part of the body, it felt pretty good, but not professional. I feel my masseuse leave the room and look up to see my husbands masseuse straddled over the back of his head, again I am like WTH, WTF!!!!! she is using your elbows on his back. Again he says nothing so neither do I. She comes back pulls my underwear up covers my back places the hot stones on my back and reveals my right leg and now gives me a wedgie on my right but cheek and continues to massage the right side, she repeats the same on the left so now I have a double wedgie finally she picks my wedgie and I don't know how she did it with out getting all the way in, but I was thankful for that as I felt uncomfortable as it was. Now we are asked to flip over on to our backs, I was a little scared, but again I look at my husband and he is doing it so I flip over, she massages my shoulders arms, hands and feet, She tugged at my fingers and toes a little too ruff I thought they might fall off. Then she picks up my legs and drops them a few times, not sure what the purpose for that was but they did the same to my husband and when his legs dropped the noise was so loud. When my first friend arrived they walked her to where I was and the lady said that they were very busy and that she would have to wait 40 minutes and that my other friend had to wait 1 hour and a half. My friend and I looked at each other like umm seriously their is no one here. How do you only have 1 person working at a massage place? We were very upset and my friend decided to leave. At that point we text my other friend to not even bother coming either. We all drove 25 minutes to get to this place. Instead of relaxation she left more stressed. The most terrible experience I have ever had. Found this on Groupon for a couples massage with my friend. We called and they offered us a better deal if we didn't purchase Groupon. We walk in and the beds are separated by curtains only. They told us to take out clothes off and just lay. They did not ask us anything about health conditions or whether we had certain areas we did not want to be touched. Their English was not very good. The massage was incredibly unprofessional and uncomfortable. They lifted our limbs and just dropped them down back on the table, the stones were burning hot, the room temperature was freezing, they slapped and karate chopped your entire back, and to top it off they played with my ears- going into my ears !!! I bursted out laughing ! My friend later told me they removed her shorts half way without asking. She didn't know what to do at that point and even slapped her face. The worst part was that they were on us about leaving tip. We gave them each $5 because it was extremely unprofessional and asked for more. They did not accept $5 and told us they had a minimal for gratuity. I am writing this because I truly believe no one should experience this. Save your money and go somewhere else. I had an amazing time at A&L Happy Feet. Jenny who was my massage therapist was AMAZING!!! As soon as i arrived they took me right in. The room was nice and the massage was done with precision. Jenny is small in stature but very effective, she will customize her pressure at your request. On top of a full body massage she also included in my 60 minute session a wonderful scalp an facial massage. The whole experiance was so relaxing. First of all it is very clear that whoever is running this establishment should take an English course because they cannot effectively communicate with you. I kid you not, I had a full conversation with someone (yes they spoke very broken English but as far as I knew we understood each other enough) and we set up an appointment and I was even told not to purchase the Groupon and was given a cheaper price. Awesome! I was trilled. Come the day of, I got to the place and was unable to get inside. Ranged the doorbell, nothing. Called and was trying to explain that I couldn't get inside. I was not understood. The lady kept asking what time was my appointment I said 11. She said she didn't have an 11 today she only had a 12 o'clock and it wasn't even for me. So I made up the entire conversation we had prior? Hung up upset. She called back and said to come back after 30 mins had passed and I was already on my way home. Are you f-ing kidding me? When I first called to make the appointment it went straight to voicemail and no one called me back the next day. When I called again, I had to repeat myself 4 times because the lady thought I wanted a couples massage and I kept saying no, it's just me for a hot stone massage. I should have just canceled my appointment after that. This was the worst massage I have ever gotten. First place I've ever been to that use a regular towel to put over you instead of a sheet or blanket. The massage tables are divided by curtains. Every place I've been to before ask you to fill out a questionaire and before they massage ask you for any problem areas and how much pressure you want. The lady who massaged me was brutal, it felt like she pressed her elbow and just rubbed up and down my back. I was in pain the whole time. When I told her less pressure she didn't know what I meant so she asked her Co worker in their language and she really didn't change how hard she was massaging me. The "hot stone" part was towards the end when she rubbed 2 hot stones on my back and that was it. Then she took a hot towel and rubbed off the oil she put on my back and legs. They give you a small cup of water at the end. The icing on this crappy experience was when I went to tip her. I gave her a $20 bill and asked for change. What did she do? She handed me back a $10 bill and kept the other $10 in the register and said thank you. The nerve of her to taken upon herself to automatically take $10 as her tip.
