Store Sign as seen from the street

It's a booze store and these days most booze stores carry a large assortment of various wines and liquors, so I don't get overly plused by a wide variety of those items from which to select. However, this store carries a particularly large variety, many unique. I even had a choice of several brands of Peruvian Pisco from which to make a selection. Other than the get me slooshed drinkables, my draw to this store and why I am a fan of it is that it also carries some decent food items satisfying my untypically weird preferences for cheeses such White Stilton Cheese with Mango and Ginger, various out of the ordinary pates, baloneys and the like.

While I'm not an imbiber, I love the huge, overstuffed sandwiches Josephine makes. At $7 you can't beat this! Shes smart and wraps the halves separately because it is close to impossible to finish the entire thing. Love their deli counter with gourmet specialty cheeses, etc.

Saketini packaging was clearly rotting on the bottom. Definitely double check before buying something here

One person was helpful and actually walked us to the isle. However another said look in isle number 6. But I couldn't find it. Then we asked another employee if he knew anything about craft beer and he said no. Never said but I will find someone else to help. He just walked away. They could work on their customer service. But, They had a good flow of customers so I guess they don't need to.

There is the local liquor store that I can pretty much walk to, but they have a very limited selection. I once asked them if they had Mezcal and the guy had never heard of Mezcal before. Within the 5-mile radius, there is ABC, which is a very good store (at least they know what Mezcal is) but in certain categories, the selections are limited, and some spirits they just don't have. And then there is Total Wine within a 10-mile radius, that has pretty much everything. Whenever I am looking for something specific, or I want to do all my shopping in one stop, Total Wine is where I go. Whenever I walk into Total Wine, I get the same excitement feeling that I did as a child when I walked into Toys R US. There are rows and rows of shelves, filled with toys, I mean spirits. I keep waiting for Geoffrey the Giraffe to show up with a bottle of tequila at hand and instead of singing "I want to be a Toy R US kid" to sing "I want to a Total Wine guy". LOL, I jest. I can't say enough about the vast array Wine, beer, spirits and the mixer that they carry, and I can even get kegs, which makes it very convenient. Oh, and let's not forget the sampling stations throughout the store. Now I must admit, there have been times that they didn't have the exact brand I was looking for, but instead they had a dozen similar (if not better) options. Now, I have been to many Total Wine stores, but I walked into this location for the first time a few weeks ago. The staff is very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly, even though they are typically swarmed with questions. I just wish I lived closer to this location so I could come by every day.

Sorry, Blue - but I'm here to rectify that. I think the location may have stopped me from going in the past - it's right by Park & Go, FLL, and Port Everglades. I came to the realization that whenever I'm in this area, it's because I'm taking a flight or going on a cruise. That's just what I associate it with, not necessarily hanging out at a brewery. That said, it's pretty easy to get to, with quick access off 595. Admittedly, this one is entirely on me. From looking at pictures, I knew this was an open air tap room, and I still went on one of the hottest, nastiest sunny August afternoons of the year. So yeah, it was hot. They have Big Ass Fans (tm) but they can only do so much. I'd probably rather go when the weather gets a bit more bearable, but I'm so hot, you know. Your mileage may vary. The taproom, tucked away within a marine warehouse area, is open air as I mentioned, and has an indoor and outdoor section with plenty of seating. It has a tiki bar-ish feel and is pretty chill. I don't have to feel weird about showing up in my beloved shorts and flip flops. In fact, it would probably be weird if I *didn't* show up in shorts and flip flops. The beer selection is part of what drove me to finally check this place out. Many breweries have a pretty narrow selection skewed toward IPA and fruited sours these days, and I'm the anachronism who gravitates more toward saison, strong Belgian blondes, crisp lagers and the occasional imperial stout. They had a Chardonnay oak-aged saison on tap called Ou'll Drink To That, so obviously I started out with that. Nice flavor, but the carbonation was not really where I needed it to be. The next one, Ice Breaker, was probably my big winner of the day. I know I took shots at breweries for having mostly IPAs, but this "Cold IPA," essentially an IPA fermented with lager yeast, was pretty nice, with good carbonation and structure. I would order that again. However, after that, I went with Rice Rice Baby, a rice lager that let me down, due to poor carbonation and some diacetyl (buttered popcorn) off-flavor. So, with a three beer sample size, I have a big winner, a big loser, and one kind of in the middle. In giving an overall rating, I'm going to give the winner more weight than the beer that wasn't good, and also take the fact that the two beertenders were both absolute delights, into consideration. More importantly, I would, and will, go back.

The wine taps were oddly empty but the chatty bartender removed two wine bottles from her inventory and explained the specific aromas of the red and white wines. She offered a wine tasting which was unexpected but enjoyed. The wine bottles on the wall had hand written prices for the uncorked price to drink inside the winery and the corked price to grab & go. Loved the intimate feel of the place and brought back my ten friends tonight at 10pm but they were sadly closing for the night so we partied at the bar in the courtyard.
