Not a welcoming experience at all. The owner was randomly rude, as others have stated, and her responses to reviewers are disappointing. There is one singular common denominator to the negative reviews, and it's a shame she doesn't take the opportunity to improve her customer service rather than prove everyone's point about her attitude by putting on boxing gloves in her responses. The rules she has on her signage are so deeply buried in the superfluous theses nailed around her store that they blend in with the busyness of the booths. If you have enough time stand still and read them, they do not improve the feeling of welcome. There are other stores with better prices and practically the same inventory. But like in many cases, customer service has determined whether or not we will return. And we will not. read more

Recommend: Certainly check this out. Nestled next To a few other stores, the internal architecture and crevices show all kinds of goods. Look around, lots of yesteryear stuff! Woman that runs the place is rude and immediately made me feel uncomfortable and unwanted. She is HORRIBLE! Also, the jewelry at the store is nice but priced at over DOUBLE what a realistic price is. You could get better deals in Santa Fe! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME at this place. She is horrible, unwelcoming, unhelpful, and based on all of these other reviews stating how bad this woman is, seems there is an overall agreement on this! I would have spent thousands and thousands on the jewelry if they were more reasonable and the woman wasn't such a witch! read more

Well there is an older woman at the counter when you walk in. She did say hello. She was on the phone the whole time we were there. The prices were way too high and there are signs all over about not letting your kids touch anything unless you buy it first. There was a chair and it said "If you sit on it, you buy it"....umm......ok? I have never felt so uncomfortable before. We left. read more

Antique Mall on Route 66. Overall prices where a little high as compared to Dallas. The store is full of hand written signs of do nots, do not sit, do not take photos, do not put items in refrigerator and if you sit on it you bought it !!! read more

It seemed like a run of the mill antique shop, was expecting to have fun looking through the items with my family. I noticed that the owner/manager/whoever the old hag is, was sitting at the desk staring at the security cameras and watching our every move. The prices were outrageous and the million + 1 signs were a big turn off. If you sit, there's a fine, if you touch there's a fine, if you open the refrigerator there's a fine, at this point, if toy breathe I'm sure there's a fine. Overall, will not visit again. I'd rather make the trip to the antique stores along the interstate into PA. This one left such a sour taste in my mouth and I would not recommend. read more

On one hand, the selection was great. I found several things I would have purchased even at the inflated prices. On the other hand, I don't like to spend money at places without a customer restroom (or with poor customer service). The woman working at the desk claims they use a bucket because they don't have plumbing. Ummm, no thank you. Also, as mentioned by another reviewer, the negative and rude signs ALL over the store were really off-putting which goes along with the general feeling of being unwelcome. I was prepared to spend a lot of money there, but instead left empty handed. Business owners are certainly free to make their own decisions, but so am I, and I am glad I didn't spend money there. read more

If you thought the south was friendly, please think again. We saw the sign from the freeway and decided to stop on our way from California to Chicago. The owner is the rudest antique store person I've ever met, which is saying something because the industry doesn't really breed social skills. Anyway, we turned right around and left. They could have a 15 dollar Wurlitzer and I wouldn't go back. I went down the street and found some cute things to spend my money on. This place is ewwww and so is that lady. I had a great time enjoyed it tremendously with my wife looking at all the old things. I thought the lady upfront was very knowledgeable and provided us with historical insight into her business, we spent a few hundred and i found an original route 66 sign and my wife found some old cook books to replace the old beat up ones she has. We're just passing through so probably wont be back but it was a great experience and a memory i will always cherish. read more

I passed through Amarillo on a road trip and this was by far the best antique store I visited. I am from LA and frequent antique and vintage stores and was amazed by the quality and age of many of the items. The clothing section upstairs is filled with beautiful hats, dresses and bags - all in good condition. It's unfortunate that there are not kinder reviews because I found the owner to be incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. Maybe leave your children at home next time if you are concerned with them breaking or touching valuable items as the owner is obviously posting signage because of past negative experiences. read more

We broke a rule within 30 seconds of walking in when my daughter stepped out of my arms reach. We antique all over Texas and each of my three kids gets a pretty big budget and shops on their own. They are 12,15,and 17. Under 18 has to be roped to an adult in here or they don't want your money. Shame we saw something in the window that we buy no matter what every time we see one. While the selection at 6th Street Antique Mall is good, the vendor prices are not. The worst part is the lady who sits up front (owner or manager, didn't want to ask). She is there every time I've visited and she is very unfriendly and unwelcoming. If I were a vendor I would seriously consider going elsewhere. Her attitude must be well known since other shops are heavy with activity on Saturday and 6th Street AM is dead. There are signs all over, in all caps, about keeping up with your children and don't steal. Put one sign up front and move on, 6th Street. The signs are EVERYWHERE. I decided to make a purchase and I gave her my credit card. She said, "we charge 4% on credit cards!" I said, "I don't see anything about that among your 4,000 signs." She didn't have a good response. Choose a different spot and avoid the frog on her lily pad. read more

The place is big and you'll find some interesting items. But anything you find will cost a fortune. Vendors here are way too proud of their merchandise. Low turnover of inventory too. I see the same items when I visit twice a year. Save yourself the time and visit other shops. read more

Good inventory, but most prices are high. And watch out for the lady at the counter. If you leave something and continue browsing the price of the item has a habit of increasing from what you thought it was. Twice I've had her change price tags on me. Will definitely NOT be going back. read more
