Under his instruction, I went from being extremely anxious to ready to drive on freeways and LA streets and take my exam. My actual DMV driving exam was extremely traumatic but I still passed the first time, and everything Angel reviewed with me was highly applicable. Since from the beginning, everyone who works for Westwood Driving School is a friendly and professional attitude. After the lesson, Eduardo explained my mistakes on the paper, also on the road. He was calm and explained every detail for safe driving with great tips very well. They come right to your door, on time, friendly instructors - every single one of them. I honestly don't know how they find people with such great attitudes. My daughter gets a little apprehensive about new situations so everyone made her really comfortable. They said she did great. So! Because of that, we bought three more classes (extra six hours of experience). The first new lesson, she got over her fear of the freeway and did really well. She was so scared when it's her parents but with an instructor, she got over that. The second new lesson? This was the issue and absolutely kudos to Drivers Ed Direct. So, she gets panic attacks sometimes. It used to be really bad where she would miss school and it was almost daily and she hated it but she couldn't get through them, it was a rough year at the time. But, we got them mostly under control but for whatever reason... she had one about 15 minutes before her instructor showed up. I couldn't get her out of it (it's awful to see, as a parent), she was trying but she couldn't breath, short of breath. I greeted the instructor and said I have to deal with 'something' first and he was so patient, when he didn't need to be, as we were on the clock. She was in no shape to drive, it was bad... so I told him that, unfortunately, we had to cancel but we'd just eat the costs, no probably at all. He was totally amazing, my God... I was so stressed and he was like, "Totally no worries, I live close, it's okay." Nicest guy, per usual with them. The day after, I just emailed them to just apologize for that and I didn't even bring-up the cost or anything because, yeah, I should be on the hook for that, it's not their problem. But, guess what. They said it's okay and didn't even charge anything! They are going to reschedule it! I had to come on here immediately and pass that along because they absolutely didn't have to do that -- at all. But that's who they are - they care.

I tried to reason with her and told her i could pay half of it or something smaller because I couldn't make the lesson anymore due to having to move stuff around cuz of her mistake, to which she replied that the $50 wasn't available anymore and I'd have to pay the fee of the entire lesson. The business seems quite disorganized. It's not a surprise that most of the negative reviews refer to the administration rather than the instructors. :(

Instead of accepting the feedback Abraham became defensive, stated that within 6 hours not all could be taught, etc. Yes, I agree that not all can be taught in 6 hours, however something as big as when to use the center lane was big enough to cause my daughter to fail. Abraham minimized the feedback and stated an assumption was made that the instructor didn't teach our daughter. So he called my daughter a liar and our feedback as being a lie. Most companies would acknowledge the feedback and see how they can improve, if needed, their services. Not with A-1. We did not ask for a refund, extra classes or anything additional. We just wanted them to know about an important lesson that should be taught. Abraham do better next time! Nice try Abraham! Still can't accept that you handled both conversations poorly .
