They have the standard 711 fare, always fresh hot coffee... no hot brewed tea at this location, scattered pre-made food.. not a large selection ... and the cause of my 3-star rating... NO BOOZE. wtf? Not like 711 should be your alcoholic stop anyways, and it took me years of patronage to even notice that they have no liquor, but on the one night I opted to make one stop and grab an energy drink and some beer... there was no beer to be found! The cashiers are always friendly and helpful... and I'm sure always feel a little sorry for me... the usual patronage here is longshore men and some dirty looking men that probably have no jobs save for standing outside the 711 and drinking coffee. I put my phone number in so my rewards and the promotion would be applied, but he left the price exactly the same as if I had never entered it. He never applied the deal until I had to speak up and tell him something. Only then did he fix the transaction. That should not be something the customer has to remind an employee to do. It honestly felt like he was hoping I would not notice and would just pay the higher price. After that, I asked for a bag because I had several items and was walking. It is not like I have never asked for a bag before. I was literally in the same store the night before, ordered the exact same three dollar deal, asked for a bag, and got one with no issue or extra charge. This time, however, he suddenly wanted to charge me an extra thirty five cents for the bag. At that point, it really felt like he was trying to find any way possible to make my transaction cost more than it was supposed to. First, he did not apply my rewards and the deal until I said something, then he turned around and tried to add another charge on top of that. It was ridiculous. I have also noticed that the pricing at this location is not always consistent. I can buy the exact same items one day, then come back the next day and suddenly the price is higher. Whether it is fifty cents or a dollar, people notice those things. It starts to feel like certain employees are just adding charges or changing prices because they think customers are not paying attention. I have seen similar behavior at some of these liquor stores too. They try to tack on random card fees or other little charges that customers should question instead of just accepting. Because that is against the law in California to price something and then charge a customer more money for using a debit card or even using tap because when they make contracts with Visa and all of that that is for them to pay not us People need to start paying attention to their receipts because these little charges add up. We also need to start leaving reviews and reporting businesses when things do not seem right because I constantly hear other people having the same complaints. Businesses should not be making customers feel like they have to inspect every receipt just to make sure they were charged correctly. Every time I deal with him, the attitude is nasty, there always seems to be an issue with the transaction, and somehow there is always an attempt to make the total more than it should be. Customers should not have to argue just to receive the correct price or the deals they are already entitled to. If you have another 7 Eleven nearby, I honestly recommend going there instead. I like 7 Eleven as a company, but this location really needs to address the customer service and the way some transactions are being handled because it has become a pattern, and it is getting on my damn nerves.
