This really might be the nicest 7-Eleven in all of Manhattan. It's worth paying a visit to see their selection of actual food, not just chips and Oreos. There is seating, a gourmet coffee selection, reclaimed wood decor...it's really quite remarkable. If you're anywhere near the Financial District, you should check it out. There's always something wrong with this specific store. Says open 24 hours doors locked by 11 and nobody in sight. 7/11 is more than just a convenient place, it's a home where you can get anything you need. Every day I get two slices of pizza and a slushie there, the employee's are so well trained they have my order memorized. They also let me use a big gulp cup for the slushie. The store always has the best playlist somehow, like the employee's know exactly how I'm feeling that day. The machines are never broken, unlike a certain place with a clown for a mascot. read more

7 Eleven opened right across the street from me today on 7/11. With today being the grand opening and also National Free Slurpee Day, you would think this location would be more chaotic or busy, but everything went quickly and smoothly. Me being the forgetful person that I am, I went down to check out the newly opened store and forgot it was free slurpee day. To my surprise, there was someone handing out cups at the front door and along the line, caps and straws as well. The line moved quickly and there was an employee waiting at the end to fill your cup with requested flavors. I got the mango/lemonade and wild cherry - ah, the taste of my childhood. Their preparedness and efficiency surprised me in a good way and the store layout was great as well. Stocked with plenty of snacks, drinks, and other items you would expect out of a convenience store, it was brightly lit and even had a screen showing stock prices and the status of nearby subway lines, emphasizing that this store is for locals (stock ticker for financial district, genius :P) There is also a hot food section and area in the back with seating. Overall, nice to have a convenience store so close by in the neighborhood. read more

So sad I have to write this review as I hate negativity especially to a business as large as 7-11 so truly this will probably never be viewed by anyone that would account to any changes being made but that said. I frequent this location as it is super convenient open all day which clearly leads to spending quite a bit. Pros: The store itself is gorgeous. It is super Convenient and open 24/7 Cons: The staff is actually impossible. I do not mind that there are employees, generally are not native English speakers. But if you have a situation where communication is difficult due to language barriers those employed MUST be adequately trained to deal with the product in the store and customer. The store Literally has items all over the place labeled improperly as the store I'm sure gets busy and people do not put items back in their proper places. Which is of course Understandable. This leads me to my experience tonight which has happened before but tonight was especially atrocious. There is a sale at this location for $20 off an item I was interested in. I asked numerous times for the amount for the item that was on sale (originally before the sale) and the amount of it's counterpart which is a less expensive version of the Item on sale. These are very simple questions as I felt I needed to make a decision based on the price difference. Fast forward 10 minutes "Sam "the manager who made this name up and would not tell me his real name as he was completely wrong and knew it, not wanting to get in "trouble". Multiple times I was told different amounts for the same item from three different employees and REFUSED to simply read me what the SKU as I could not see it from where I was standing (it was behind the counter). As communication was difficult to begin with and each employee had told me different amounts for each item trying to tell me I'm "getting a great deal". I kid you not! After asking probably 10x what the SKU said as this would ensure I was not getting ripped off the guy finally rang up two items and still would not scan the SKU that clearly had the $20 off coupon. Again I couldn't make this up as it's ludacris. The guy wouldn't scan the item that had the sale which was behind him and was clearly as frustrated as I was ... which in itself makes zero sense as he's not the one spending money I'm pretty sure it was my credit card being swipe not his. Consequently, I ended up buying an item that I knew the price prior and had to over pay for item that was not on sale because the employees were so poorly trained. My solution would be to have an employee or manager at the location at all times as this store that knows how to run a busy FIDI 24 hour a day convenient store & update and RE organize the items would make a HUGE difference. read more

This 7-Eleven is brand new, lending to it being nice and clean! They have their usual variety of hot foods- from hot dogs to pizza, empanadas, and taquitos. There's also a wide selection of sodas and frozen foods. My only gripe is that they don't really have juices. I went in looking for any kind of juice (orange, apple, cranberry) and only saw Naked smoothie drinks. Weird. Staff is very friendly and oh yeah- slurpees! read more

*STAFF PHYSICALLY INTIMIDATING CUSTOMERS* I came in to the store to return bottles to redeem my 5c deposit for each. The associate behind the counter was very adamant that he is *not* going to accept it. When I asked why, he said 'because I am not going to accept it'. I told him he, and the store, is obliged to accept it according to the New York State Returnable Container Act. I told him that the store charges 5c for each container, and I have the right to get it back. He was absolutely rude about the return, tried to physically intimidate me by telling me to come closer to him, and raising his voice. At the very end, he told me he is not doing this because he's been working there for 5 years and no one ever asked for it. I think this associate needs to be presented what the law states, especially if he is working in New York State. Some customer service would definitely be in order - trying to physically intimidate your customer while not following the state law is not the best optics for the store. read more

I have to say, I have a soft spot in my heart for 7-Eleven. Just taste their wings and you'll know why :) Nice, juicy, and pretty big - I like that I can just get one or two to nibble on when the craving hits. This 7-Eleven is located in the Financial district and it's probably the biggest one I've been to. My only complaint was that the food station was closed by the time I went around 11pm - so no late night wings for me :( I find this very surprising since I would think they'd want their hot-n-ready stuff available 24/7. read more

I just came here for the free coffee they have going on this week if you have their 7-11 App! You can get any size for free. I feel they are handling the crowd well with this. I came in and there was only one coffee that was out, but they refilled it fairly quickly. I did not get that coffee, but it was refilled within the time I was there so that was quick! Overall the store looked pretty clean. There was only one person working, who was refilling the coffees so I did have to get his attention to let me go with my free coffee, haha, but otherwise... good spot. read more

7-Eleven goes upscale. I admittedly visit this particular store on an almost daily basis because of its proximity to my job. As it was being built, roughly between March and July of 2013 I eagerly awaited having a spot to get a good fresh cup of coffee for relatively cheap. I was expecting them to have the same crummy, dried out processed fast food and gas-station-store esque decor as a typical 7-eleven. Was I surprised when this place opened. Actual interior design was involved in creating the space which has tile floors, dark accents and shelves along the walls, and seating in the back around a large corner window space. They manage to seamlessly incorporate certain functional elements, such as an Amazon locker, key-making machine and RedBox machine into the mix. The food is not at all what you'd expect from 7-Eleven. Instead of taquitos, sausages and dried out frozen pizza, it has fresh Ciabatta sandwiches, salads, organic fruit and nut snacks, and other foods that I actually eat and enjoy. There are also craft beers by the six pack or bottle. With all this, plus staff that is friendly, and seems to understand the concept of customer service. The employee, Rocky, was rude and assumed I wouldn't be purchasing anything in the store and refused to allow me or my elderly mother to use the restroom. He claimed that the restroom was only for employees, which clearly wasn't true. This 7-Eleven is the SHIT. Who the hell knew a 7-Eleven could be so upscale and trendy? Spacious, brightly colored, plenty of seats, great service, even moderately clean restrooms SAY WHAAA? The $2 perfectly seasoned cheese pizza is to die for and I just don't understand why their pizza is more amazing than say, anything I've tried in an actual pizza place. Am I going insane? I was pretty excited for the opening of this 7 Eleven for a clean, new, and fast convenience store opening a few blocks away from my apartment. Went in once just to scope out the selection and it looked pretty good. Went again this morning for some coffee and found some great stuff: 1.) They sell some pretty damn good beer as well as the usuals. Everything from Keegan Ales to Budweiser, 6-packs to tall boys. 2.) Awesomely you can create your own 6-pack, picking and choosing bottles with the supplied recyclable 6-pack cardboard carriers. How fun!! 3.) Lotto tickets 4.) TVs with subway statuses, stocks, etc - great idea while waiting in line to pay! 5.) Made to order sandwiches on a touch screen ordering device - just like the amazing Wawa's of the Dirty Jers. A touch of nostalgia on the streets of the financial district. 6.) Surprising selection of fruit and higher end products like Bread Alone and Brad's kale chips. 7) OPEN 24 HOURS!!! Amazing for coming home from nights out looking for cheap snacks, sandwiches, beers, etc. This is my new stop for late night vices. 8.) Yummy coffee. 9.) You can absolutely tell that corporate is trying to push a new image for 7-Eleven by selling all this high-end beer and grocery items, as well as with the store design and lay out that has a young, fresh feel to it. Pretty good job, as I usually associate 7-Elevens as run down and dirty slurpee stops with sweating rotating hot dogs and stacks of Hostess cupcakes next to the cashier. Perhaps some midnight robberies and young derelicts running the counters to complete the image. My mind is so far changed! 10.) Only gripe is that there was a line of 5+ people during morning rush hour at 8:30 with one cashier - kind of strange you wouldn't stack your registers for morning rush in the Financial District, but hey they've barely been open a week. Beware, they do not have the traditional 7 eleven iced coffee that may be advertised. There's some other mini store inside that has iced coffee but it's some other kind. I used to work at this 7-Eleven when it first opened and wow.... this place has really changed in some ways. They got rid of the health food and vegan groceries. No Mozzarella Sticks.....Garbage cans have "aprons", as the old manager would say.... bathroom was a little filthy with no bathroom checklist like when I was working there a while back. The electronic kiosks next to the freezer are not there anymore (the ones you can process your food orders and them orders went to the screens in the kitchen.) When the old crew and I was there, we really took pride in how the store was looking. Now, it seems like the workers are just there because they have to be there; they don't take pride on how the store looks. One thing that bothers me the most is that they still throw away food!!! WHY is this company so wasteful??!! There are so many hungry folks out here in New York that would be super grateful for that food. A little word of helpful advice: take inventory and ORDER what you need. now if you're going to have a promotion on certain things, order above and beyond and blow it out, but please: STOP THROWING AWAY EDIBLE FOOD!! Lunch break in Downtown Civic Center on a blistering non-stop snow winter day was uninviting and unappealing to go the walking distance. 7-Eleven franchise are appearing more and more in Manhattan which happens to be my lunch. I elected a chicken Caesar wrap sandwich $4.99 and one fresh banana $0.69. However, there were no Caesar dressing in the sandwich despite the name "Caesar wrap" as there were no packets visible to take. When inquiring with the staff the response was "we never had any." The sales clerk mentioned that dressing is $0.99 next to the sandwiches in the refrigerator? Whoa! Has the ailing economy tank far below the rising cost of living that condiment packets are impossible to distribute when requested by customers? I mentioned that all other 7-Eleven franchise in Manhattan the small condiment packets are free, which the staff gave one to me without charge. No napkins are available either. read more

Employees could not understand the simple concepts of sales tax and incorrect signage. They are very uncaring and dismissive of a customer pointing to wrong signage and price shown on receipt. I bought chicken wings advertised at 5 for $3.29 and mini-tacos. When receipt is generated, the price of the chicken wings shows $3.95 before sales tax. The employee explained that $3.95 includes sales tax and another sales tax added on at the end. I told her either the cash register is not programmed right or the signage need to be replaced. The employee is very combative and told me that she can not reimburse me because I did not tell her the mistake before she rung the merchandise. It borders on comedy and annoyance because of the lack of understanding of simple math and sales tax knowledge and customer service, of course. read more

This 7-11 sells a lot of CRAP. Very small selection of healthy foods, most of the foods they sale are not healthy and filled with chemical preservatives. Not happy with this 7-11 and seems kind of expensive versus other 7-11 which have better and more selections that this one. read more
