You can tell she takes a lot of pride in her business and the quality of product they deliver. In addition to caffeinated beverages and bakery items, they have an impressive menu of sandwiches and lunch items. We kept things simple by ordering an iced cafe mocha, a dark roast coffee, and a chocolate croissant. You can tell they use high quality ingredients since the iced cafe mocha had chocolate flakes in them, but somehow managed to accent the beverage perfectly without making it too sweet. The chocolate croissant tasted absolutely delicious and had a wonderful chocolate filling inside unlike most traditional recipes...we both agreed it was great and tasty. The owner mentioned she gets her croissants from Europe and does the filling and final baking on premises to serve it hot. I'm not aware of any bakeries that go to all that trouble, but it makes for a high quality product. After circling the block a few times, I was able to park a block away on the street. When I walked in, I mentioned I was picking up food but I also wanted to order a coffee. The man at the counter rudely told me that I had to pick up my food at the counter in the back. When I asked if they had nonfat milk, I was again met with an attitude and he said "we only have local milk and three dairy alternatives." It was very clear that I wasn't being respected because I wasn't a local. Imagine my surprise when a small/medium sized latte, with no syrup, was $9.10. Absolute highway robbery for an average latte. For food, I ordered an avocado toast with shaved egg. I had a much better experience interacting with the woman at the food window. She was incredibly kind, made an effort to talk to me and my food was ready 20 minutes early. It was good and fresh, but I now know that I'm not a fan of the texture of shaved eggs.
