Being a…read morehuge Christmas and holiday fan seeing that they made a Christmas pop up was the extra motivation I needed. My friend and I had an amazing time. The whole building was super festive and fun. While busy, right before Christmas, everyone was very nice and helpful. There was barely a wait for anything, other than seating, but like I said it was so busy. The food we ordered was hot, fresh, and quick. I was really surprised by how good it was. I got a bowl potato soup and it looked small. That soup was so loaded and cheesy, I wasn't even able to finish it! Delicious! We shared a Bavarian pretzel. That was also huge, very well made. The dips for it I think are house made? They were amazing. We couldn't decide our favorite, but I think the mustard was mine. We each got a festive drink, I'm not big on drinks, but my Cosmic cosmo was fantastic and pretty! While the decor is what finally got me to visit I'm definitely planning on going back. It's very spacious, great seating. The food was impressive, service was fast and surprisingly friendly with how packed and busy they were.

We happened to be…read morevisiting Port Farms on this afternoon and I got excited whenever I noticed that Poverty Knob Farmhouse Ales was right next door. This brewery is located in a big barn like building with super high ceilings. It has both indoor and outdoor seating and on the day that I was there they had live music as well. On this day for my beer I ordered directly at the bar but for my food I ordered from the QR code that was at each table. As I often do whenever I visit a new brewery I went with a flight here. At poverty Knob you got to choose 4 different 4 oz pours for $12. I ended up choosing the midnight lager, spruce almighty, obstructed view and brown eyed girl for my beers. First up for me was the Brown eyed girl which was an American stout. It was smooth with a hint of sweetness at the finish. Second was the Obstructed view hazy IPA which was a true ipa with lots of strong hops coming in at the finish. Up third was the spruce tip IPA Spruce almighty. It felt more like an English ipa as it was mild and sadly I didn't get any spruce tips flavor from it. Last but certainly not least was the schwarzbier named Midnight lager. This beer had some sweetness at the start with those roasted malt flavors coming in at the finish. Out of the bunch, I would choose the midnight lager and obstructed view as my favorites. Then for food, my wife and I ordered a chips platter and a pizza. The chips had a drizzle with bacon, blue cheese and scallions while our flatbread had arugula, honey and prosciutto on it. While I was expecting to like the flatbread more, I ended up liking the chips more. The shareable portion size was absolutely massive and I appreciated the pungent blue cheese with the bacon and balsamic drizzle. Our chips were super crispy as well which helped. Then our flatbread was also good and I enjoyed the salty/peppery/sweet combo from everything that was on top. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I enjoyed most of my beers here and thought that our chips were excellent.

Everyone else ordered pulled pork, crispy chicken sandwich, black bean burger without the roll, reddy burger, Caesar salad and the child's burger. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. Would definitely stop here again if passing through. The restaurant is located on a cute street surrounded by shops and across from a small park.

For lunch we tried the fish sandwich and soup / salad combo. Fish sandwich came with fries. Fish was on the small side and fries more on the mushy side. I had the onion soup and house salad. The onion soup is not French onion, it resembles it but actually has a sweet flavor. Salad was fresh, I added grilled chicken, it came with a tiny cup of dressing. They do use bottled dressing rather than house made. Our server had 5 active tables, even though she brought ketchup and dressing to the table, she didn't offer drink refills or check back after we received our food.

There's a Christmas popup happening adjacent to the restaurant that is printing money serving college inspired drinks that taste cheap and hungover laden but the vibe is good enough! The focus of this quick review is on the restaurant itself! Beautiful building in downtown Erie that is a Brewerie but also has an fairly extensive menu of food. We were early but promptly seated in a corner of the restaurant. Our server was fun, attentive and quick. We ordered a round of drinks and went into mains after a quick review of the menu. I tried the Reuben and battered cod. Not having either in quite awhile, i was ready to enjoy these. However, the Reuben was ok and very standard IMO but the fries were weird and not great. Stale or frozen then thawed for awhile maybe. Others got the pierogi's that they said were "meh" and one person got the nachos. I heard the nachos were standard which to me meant good here. The battered and fried cod was delightful. Not greasy and batter was light. Drinks, the mango habanero was not good. The house made ginger was strong and the bourbon surprisingly did not mix well. IDK how else to generalize the Brewerie as just ok with the best things being the staff and maybe their nachos. Restaurants try to be bars and bars try to be restaurants sometimes. This is definitely a bar moreso.

We ordered the Southwest rice bowl, and ultimate steak sandwich. The rice bowl had excellent flavor and was definitely a full meal; would absolutely order that again. The sandwich was on custom bread which was the perfect combination of soft bread with a great crusty exterior. I also ordered a side salad to replace the french fries; was a really good salad with multiple ingredients and a great homemade ranch dressing. Our waitress was also excellent, and moved us to a different table at our request, with a better review of the entertainment. We will definitely return and recommend it to friends in the area.
