I've been wanting to get my belly button pierced again for a while now so I took to Yelp to see what places were recommended in this area. I initially scheduled an appointment for Monday but later had to switch it to Wednesday. Marcus was extremely helpful in facilitating the cancelling of my original appointment and getting me scheduled for a new appointment. I arrived at my appointment 15 minutes early, gave them my email address, completed the form sent to my email, and went back to be pierced. Gep was able to get me a regular steel ball without any gems or dangles as I wanted to keep everything as minimalistic as possible. The piercing process was very swift. Gep marked the spot on my navel, had me check to see if I liked it, and then I got on the table and he instructed me to breathe according to his instruction. I hardly felt a thing with his guidance. We went over aftercare instructions at the counter, and my total came to $80 including a $5 bottle of saline solution and a $20 tip. I'm super happy the customer service and my new understated navel piercing. read more

I got piercings here on February 13th 2021. My piercer was Gep. He was super nice and explained everything. Due to Covid I filled out the paperwork online before going in which was nice because I have extremely bad anxiety and sitting around doing stuff like that before a piercing, especially ones as sensitive as I got (I won't say what I got because I don't want this review to get taken down). So that was nice and when I went in I just had to sign in and he checked that my online stuff was filled out and then I sat down for 4 or 5 minutes while he sanitized everything and got his supplies. Then I went in and he drew the marks of where the piercings would go and asked me to look at them. I said seems fine and I laid down and got both my piercings within 3 or 4 minutes. After looking at them, I got dressed again and he discussed the cleaning process with me and I bought the cleaner I needed from the shop and paid my bill which in total with a tip was like $100 I think. A month and a half later and I'm doing great, my piercings get a little irritated and crusty now and then but that's the way it was with all my ear piercings and my nose piercing so I think that's just my body, it's got nothing to do with the piercer or cleanliness of the shop or anything. Super happy with this place and thinking of getting my first tattoo there! read more

There are few "good times" to have your piercing go kerflooey on you- in the middle of the PA Turnpike might be one of the least convenient places I can think of. An Internet search led me to Gep, the piercer at 717, and he was reassuring when I called to explain my issue, gave me directions from the turnpike exit, and set me completely at ease. The shop is sparkling clean and sterile, the procedure for my piercing only took a few minutes, throughout which, Gep made sure I was breathing and not uncomfortable or dizzy. He gave me thorough directions on aftercare and when he said to call if I needed anything, it's clear that he meant it. I've always wanted my ears pierced, but was a little hesitant to go through with the procedure. However, once my 18th birthday rolled around, I knew I was ready. After reading about the negative consequences of piercing guns, I knew I wanted to get the job done with a needle, so I went to down 717. I walked and showed my ID, filled out a quick form, and before you know it I was sitting on the piercing chair. The room was clean and organized and the equipment sterile. It reminded me of a doctor's office with a punk edge. As I was getting my first ear pierced my anxiety decided to flare up, but Geb was fully accommodating, fetching me a cup of water to help me regain my composure between ears. Afterwards the piercings looked great! I was given a pamphlet containing detailed aftercare instructions, his contact information in case I had any other questions, and then I bought a bottle of saline solution to ensure proper healing. In the end, I couldn't have been happier with the service. $50 well spent! read more

Went in on Feb 24, 2016 to have a tattoo finished. Dust is the artist I picked based on his Artwork and comments on Facebook, Instagram and such. He was great with communication, up front and open! He was great with his time and accomplished everything he said he would do. I would highly recommend Dust, I'm definitely going back! I have four different tattoos, from four different shops. I usually never write negative reviews, but I have given 717 ample time to reach out and show that they care about their clients. Unfortunately, that didn't happen; so, I want to share my story to hopefully protect someone else from going through what I personally had to endure. I went to 717 tattoo in Mechanicsburg on May 7th, 2021, and had Dave do some work on a huge tattoo on my right side that is in dedication to my mother who passed away. Everything went great, or so I thought. Several weeks went by, and for some reason the roses Dave colored weren't healing (now these were the largest parts of the tattoo). I called on June 9th to talk with Dave, and the receptionist at 717 asked me to come in on June 11th for Dave to take a look at my tattoo. So I went in on June 11th, and Dave showed several other people from 717. They all claimed it was an allergic reaction to the ink, but stated they were unsure if it was the brand or color of the ink that was causing this reaction. Dave apologized for the tattoo and said we should push my next appointment from June 18th to July 30th to give it plenty of time to heal, and not to worry we will ink test next time and get this all sorted out. Well July 9th came and my tattoo was still not looking better. So I called to share this with 717 tattoo, and cancel my appointment. The receptionist said not to worry my tattoo appointment is weeks away on July 30th, and I don't need to cancel because it will most likely be much better by then and if not we'll work something out. July 27 the receptionist calls to confirm my appointment with Dave for July 30th. I let her know that my tattoo still was not healed. She said that's fine, Dave would want to see it and work a plan out with me for it. So I agreed to go in for my appointment on July 30th. Well, then I get a call on July 29th stating Dave needed me to come in 4hrs earlier for my appointment on July 30th; because apparently he had accidentally booked someone in my appointment slot. So, I agreed to come in 4hrs earlier on July 30th. Unfortunately, Dave acted surprised to see me, and stated he already had his time for today booked. That he has not heard from me (even though I was in constant communication with the shop) and figured I was not coming to the appointment. None of this made any sense, since I was in constant contact with the 717 tattoo shop, and was even asked to come in earlier for this appointment the day before. He explained he was booked for the day, and I would need to book another day. I decided to reach out to another tattooist, and they stated I am not having an allergic reaction, as 717 tried to claim; rather the skin was actually overworked by Dave. Sadly, 717 has not reached out to me since July 30th to see how I am healing from Dave's work; and before writing this review I have given them ample time you do so. I hope this review is helpful, and protects someone from having to endure what I have had to. read more
