I did not know however that Parkland RV was going to charge me a fee to get an estimate totaling $1240. I told them today when I picked the camper up and paid the $1240 without the repairs being completed that I did not appreciate being billed for this and the service manager proceeded to argue with me that I had been paid by Insurance for that. The fact that I was not notified that I would be getting billed for having an estimate is ridiculous. If you take a car in for an estimate on damage, they don't bill you for the estimate. They bill you for any work done. Arguing with me because I was upset that I wasn't notified I would be getting billed goes against what his title is "service" manager. The customer is not always right, but the customer is always the customer and should be treated as such. I am not upset with anything other than the fact that they're billing me for stuff that they did not inform me I would be billed for.

The communication was very good, and they were able to get me into a camper for the beginning of the week. The fee was acceptable, and I was grateful to be getting a camper with AC in the July heat. However, the day after I rented the camper I called to ask about the water and refrigerator, just to make sure I was not missing anything. I had misunderstood that the camper had water in it, no worries there I checked to make sure it was operational after filling it. But when I mentioned that the refrigerator wasn't working, he made it sound like it was my fault, as if I would have somehow managed to damage the refrigerator after half a day's use. When I returned the camper there was nobody around, so I left it where I picked it up. I got an email from them the day after telling me that I scratched the step assistance bar as I had stowed it incorrectly and I would be charged for its repair. But I also would be charged for the cleaning of the microwave and coffee maker since they weren't cleaned. WE DID NOT USE THEM. So basically, they did not check the last person that used it but did with us. We should have gone through every item on their checklist when we rented the camper. If they had simply charged me for "scratching" the assistance bar I would accept that, but the charge for appliances we did not use or open is insulting. If you choose to rent here, check everything.

It was more than enough room for our family of four. Although we weren't strangers to camping, Chris and Carrie were very professional and thorough with their explanation for the use of the RV. They made pickup and drop off a smooth process. We would highly recommend them to anyone seeking a camper to rent. We would not hesitate to use them again for our future RV needs!

The hookups were perfect. We bought firewood and asked for the pit to be cleaned out (we didn't have a shovel). When the fella came to deliver wood, he cleaned out the pit. We told him we we're making s'mores. He actually scrounged up a couple pieces of scrap wood and ran it back over to us. Great guy!!! The girl in the office said they didn't have fire-starter, but said we could walk around by the woods and pick up kindling.

After nearly three years of researching travel trailers, my wife and decided to place an order for…read morea 2026 Keystone Cougar 22MLS with McDowell South RV in Jackson Missouri. We worked they Taylor Hampton (sales) who was very helpful on ordering exactly what options we were looking for. We let Taylor we would be hiring a third party inspector to come in once the RV arrived to do a complete inspection. This did not present any hesitation or push back. Once the RV arrived, our inspector set up the appointment with McDowell and they had everything requested available, water, electrical, and propane. While the inspection left a short list of items that needed to be repaired prior to us signing any final paperwork and completing the sale, Taylor worked with the service department and Keystone to get the parts needed to make the travel trailer camp ready. Again, no push back, not pressure. Once everything was completed, we met with the finance manager, Alan Sellers to finish the paperwork. We had already secured very good financing outside of McDowell, but they did offer to see if they could meet or beat our current interest rate. As we were comfortable with the terms on our own financing it was a simple "okay". Alan did offer an extended warranty and again with a single "no thank you" again, it was zero pressure. Most importantly there was no "funny business" or "hidden fees" in the transaction. The price we were quoted when we ordered the RV was the price we paid when we closed the deal. The service department was fabulous for our walk through. I am pretty sure we spent three hours going over every system and video recording everything with our phone. They even assisted with installing our weight distribution hitch we brought with us. If you are looking for a good RV (you should always get it inspected by a third party) at a very fair price with little pressure though the process, McDowell South RV should be on your radar. We live in St. Louis and while there is a Keystone dealer much closer, the "vibe", price, and low pressure were very much worth the drive and our time. When the time comes to look at a different R, we will definitely give McDowell a call.

Although we had had a camper in the past, we were new to having a 5th wheel. Loved everything they did for us. Now the service dept. is another thing. First time we had to bring it in was just to fix a shade and make adjustments to the table. They took over 2 weeks to do anything. I'd call and get put off saying they were busy with other work. Now we have taken it in to adjust the slide in. When we dropped it off at the appointed time, there were only 2 campers in the workshop and ours was the only one in the service parking lot. It's been a week and I've heard nothing! I've called and received no response. It's a joke! Its like they don't care that we bought a new 2026 RV from them...when we could have gone anywhere. If this service dept doesn't get their act together we will never buy here again!!
