I had a fair experience at this 76/ Circle K station on Whipple Rd in Union City, CA. I had some free time on a Wednesday afternoon, so I pulled off the freeway in Union City. I haven't been to this 76 in awhile, so I went to get gas and use the restroom. While I was pumping UL Reg at $4.69/gal, I went in the Circle K to use the restroom. The cashier said I need a code. He mumbled something that I couldn't understand, and another man told me "1-2-3-4-5, turn Right." The restrooms were very clean and modernized. I bought a $12.99 carwash. My truck was very dirty, and perhaps a decent wash would save me alot of work. I paid cash at the cash register. The cashier suddenly became very friendly and polite when I handed him a $20 bill. How was the wash? Decent, maybe 90% clean with some soapy residue. The rinse cycle isn't long enough to wash off the soap. It's a mechanical wash with high pressure sprayers. FYI- when you're waiting in line at the carwash, be aware of your surroundings. I saw people lurking around in the bushes behind the gas station. Overall, a fair experience. This is a modern gas station near the I-880 freeway. Lots of traffic, as you're near shopping, housing, and the Huntwood Business park. If gas is expensive here, there's 7-11 gas station a few blocks east on Whipple Rd. Good luck and drive safe! Union City is the junction of Hayward, Newark, and Fremont. read more

Super rude manager (the bald guy)!!! I wanted to redeem a purchase I won online and he said it's a new store we can't scan it. What? I ended up wasting my code. He had a attitude for no reason. IDK, maybe hes a racist and didn't want to go through with the my purchase. Also, they had the sign that says they accept EBT and then also said it doesn't work. Service and food is very bad, I can't believe they give me stale food twice! My first one, the manager Rafa if I remember his name right, he told me to add combo and will give me fresh food so I had to wait 10mins, when I got home it was the old one, pre heated. I know because I cook. The 2nd time he tried to do the same tactic, he even dropped it on the floor and looked at me if I saw it, then he put it in the carton and tried to give it to me. Shady! DO NOT GET A CAR WASH!!!They have an advertisement that if you buy 8 gallons of gas or more you get $1 off. I got the most expensive car wash for 14.99 and first it broke mid car wash and then when I explained that I didn't get a $1 off one staff member said he would bring me a dollar when I went through the car wash again. The another staff member came to the car wash to restart it and told me I don't get a dollar off because I bought the most expensive car wash and it only applies to the 3 lower tier. Which is listed nowhere on their ad. I know it's only $1 but their gas is expensive. Wtf read more

Wow! I've never experienced the WORST SERVICE EVER at ANY OTHER GAS STATION IN MY LIFE. I needed to pump some air in my tires. I pull up to the 76 and I ask the attendant to turn on the air. He says, "it's always on, put a dollar in it." and I ask, "isn't it the law that air is free?" and he says "nope, its not, its never been free, I can show you the booklet" so I go back to the pump, and there it says that by California law, air and water is free for customers. So I go back to the attendant, and I say it says there that it's California law. He says it's FREE FOR CUSTOMERS while giving me the worst attitude. I say "Okay, I'm pumping 25 cents for gas, can you turn on the air?" and then he says the system won't let him charge anything less than a dollar. So I tell him I'll pay at pump with my card. Can you turn on the air?" he then says "C'MON QUIT BEING AN ASSHOLE MAN". We exchange unpleasantries for a moment while he insults me. I leave and go to the Chevron on the same block, and GET AIR FOR FREE WITHOUT THE ATTENDANT HARASSING ME. I'm definitely contacting corporate. I've uploaded a picture for reference as for the worst service ever attendant. 76 should be ashamed of themselves for hiring such a deadbeat to represent their company. I've been to the most ran down gas stations in the bay area, and even they don't charge you for air. But I do understand the technicalities of how only CUSTOMERS get air. When I lived at home, this was my go-to gas station. It was usually the cheapest gas around this area. What's great about it is that it's on the way home and right next to the freeway. We used to get our cars checked for smog here too at one point. The Chevron (as loyal as I am), is definitely more on the pricey side. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! DO NOT GO HERE! I would give them 0 stars if I could. This review is for the 76 on Whipple, right next to Target, Quizno's and the new 24 Hour Fitness in Union City. Just yesterday, my horrible experience started around 5pm, when every pump was occupied by a car, with more waiting to pump. The transcript is as follows: Me: $20 on number 6, please. Gas Station Dude: Number 6? Okay. Some guy behind me: *mumbles* *mumbles* something #2 *mumbles* (this is when I'm exiting the cash register area to go pump, so that was all I heard) *goes back to pump 6, fiddles with gas pump but it doesn't work* *goes back to the cash register* Me: Hmm....I gave you $20 on pump 6 earlier and 6 isn't working. Dude: 6? You said 2. Me: No.....I said 6. Dude: NO, you said 2. I remember you. You distinctly said 2. Me: No, I actually didn't. The guy behind me said something about 2. I've been at pump 6 this whole time and never pumped. Dude: Well.......somebody just pumped $20 on 2. Me: ..... Are you serious? I told you pump #6 and now you're telling me somebody on 2 pumped with my $20? Dude: Well...that's your mistake, not my mistake. There's nothing I can do about it. Me: Okay, first of all, it isn't my mistake because I said pump #6. YOU mistook what I said for number #2, So I would appreciate either my money back or $20 worth of gas on pump #6. Dude: Well, I'm not going to take $20 out of my own pocket to give it to you. There's nothing I can do. At this point, I am pretty angry because not only did he not take responsibility for HIS mistake, he took every opportunity to blame me, the customer, when I just wanted either gas or my money back. I was seriously contemplating what to do when I decided to walk back inside and ask to speak to the manager about this...SURELY he'd be understanding and more attentive towards customer service... Me: Is there a manager I can speak to about this? Dude: No, because I'm the one in charge here. Me: There's no one else here? Dude: Yes. Me: So you're saying you're the manager? Dude: Yes. Me: Okay, well what are you going to do about this then? Because it seems like you do not care about customer service nor the customer, when I specifically explained to you my situation, and I am not leaving until I get my $20 worth of gas or my money back. Dude: Well, what do you want me to do? I am not going to take money out of my own pocket and it wasn't your fault or my fault, so what can we do? Me: You just said it was my fault earlier. Dude: Well, now I understand that it is neither. Me: Honestly, I am the victim. WHY would I be stupid enough to pay $20 for someone else to pump on #2? You can even check my car. The tank is still empty, meaning I never pumped. Dude: Umm, this actually happens all the time. People give me money, then when I'm not looking, pump elsewhere and come back and tell me they didn't pump. Me: Wait....are you saying I did this on purpose? Or somehow brought this on myself? Like I said, why would I put myself in this situation? Obviously, it was a careless mistake on your part. Dude: Well, the best I can do is give you $10 on pump #6, that's going to be out of my OWN pocket, and that's the best I can do for you. I cannot give you $20. Me: You cannot give me $20 when I just gave you $20 earlier and never used a cent of gas? Dude: I know you gave me $20. I never said you didn't give me $20. Me: Right, I know you didn't. Okay, at this point, I just want my money back because this is seriously the worst customer service I've ever experienced! Dude: Well, I can only give you $10 worth of gas. Take it or leave it. Me: You know what, I'll take the 10 just to have enough gas to get out of here, but I am seriously NEVER coming back here again and will tell everyone not to either since their "manager" does not care about the customer nor about customer service. Dude: Fine. At this point, I was so mad, I just walked out. But I regret not getting his name to complain to the Better Business Bureau, his manager, corporate, something! It was not even about the $20 at this point, it's the principle. To have someone who works in customer service treat you this way is unacceptable. Even IF it was my mistake, what happened to the customer is always right? Or working with the customer? But in this situation, I was 100% in the right and the employee did nothing to sympathize with me, only concerned about what came from his own pocket. My friend later told me I should have asked him to review the cameras, but it is too late now, and who knows if he even would. All in all, a terrible experience and I will NEVER return. This is the first time I've experienced anything like this at a gas station and unless you want subpar service from a defensive employee, you should not come here either. read more

Don't go here for any car service. My car got a nail in it on my way to work at 24 hour fitness in the same parking lot. He tells me drive it over he can fix it for $25. I drive it over and the next guy tells me he needs a machine to fix it they can't help. I ask if he can at least help with my spare since I had already drove it there and then he charges me $20 for 1 minute of work. Are you serious?!! Only reason I took it over there was because he told me he could fix it I could have changed me tire my damn self. They've lost a loyal gas customer because of the poor service in the auto shop. Came here the night of 9/15/2013 to buy a full tank of 91 Octane. Ever since my car has lost all low-end torque, as if I really got 87 Octane. I don't know if I got scammed or if this is like the Sunnyvale 76 where the hose hangs over the 87 button and depresses it as you put the nozzle in your car. Either way my car lost about 1/3 of its power. read more
