Fellow Yelpers, this Yelp listing is messed up. This Chevron Station is at 31889 Alvarado Blvd in Union City, CA. The map pointer and some of the reviews are for the Chevron on Alvarado-Niles Rd. It's the right city, but the wrong street. In Union City, Alvarado Blvd and Alvarado-Niles Rd are two different streets. Which one is right? You go by the address, not the map pointer. The Chevron gas station at 31889 Alvarado Blvd is at the crossroads with Dyer St. It has a 76 and an independent gas station across the street. It's located in the midst of shopping centers, with lots of traffic flow. This Chevron has a car wash, repair shop, snack shop and a pair of islands. It also has the highest gas prices. But Chevron is a major brand and Top Tier fuel. The 76 across the street is also Top Tier, but it was closed. So that's why i gassed up at Chevron. This gas station is dirty, and some white residue all over the pumps. I can't review the car wash or repair shop, but usually stations with great car washes and service shops have better than average Yelp ratings. I paid $13 and then when I put the number down the code then they asked me if I want to receipt from the machine when I tapped on the receipt it gave me $11 and my car wash was less than what I paid it was not even enough soap, so do you not get fooled by this place? I went to the Chevron car wash just to get a wash for my car. Prices had gone up since the last time I was there. I got the $13 car wash, which was a double dry. When I came out of the car wash, my car was still splattered with water, especially on the windows. I spoke with the two gentlemen in the snack area and they were extremely rude. Tried to justify why my car was still wet and didn't even offer to let me run it through again and get it re-dried. I used to go there all the time... Never again!! read more

What a joke. Don't get tricked again. I saw the gas prices were lower than Shell across the street. Since I couldn't see how many cars lined up from my view, I assumed I could get in and out quick. When I got there, first 2 pumps were closed and the rest of pumps were all occupied. I really had to get back to SJC to catch my flight. So, I attempted to go across Alvarado-Niles Road to Shell. Guess what? There was no turnaround on Union Landing Blvd. I had to enter the shopping mall and turnaround there. I just wasted 10 minutes of my land hours. read more

Came here initially just for gas. I saw there was a car wash and decided after I paid to get one. Since I had already paid, I went inside. The cashier was rude and pissed off because I didn't have cash. He said "Cmon. You don't have $9 in cash?! You're going to pay with a card!?! I can't believe you are making me pay for your $9!" I came to fill up gas here, only 10 dollars as I am kinda broke at the moment lol. 02/02/24, 6:45 PM, Pump #7. I entered to pre pay via apple pay, then returned to my car to enjoy my energy drink as I was drained after work. The pumps were not too busy and there was enough space for everyone so I thought, why not? After some time I came to realize the prepaid amount at pump #7 reset and was asking for payment again. This is most likely there as there is a timer to fill prepaid fuel which I was not aware of. I went inside to ask the attendant (old desi man with beard) that pump #7 would need the request sent to it again for myself to fill my $10 of fuel although I was met with rudeness and laughter at me. Boy was I confused what the old man found so funny but he was (what I perceived as) incredibly rude and used a foul tone in front of other clients. I do not stand for disrespect by anyone and I let this one slide because he is an old man serving our community on a Friday evening but honestly I could not understand what his problem was. I was really excited that a Chevron Gas Station opened up near my house! Chevron Gas is my all-time favorite gas to use because I honestly feel like it lasts FOREVER in my gas tank. However, I'm only giving it three stars because my parents got gipped when they were here... One of the stations totally scammed us of our money! It was only supposed to be a $20 fill for ~5 gallons (approx $4.20 per gallon) but turned out to be like $30 or so. This place is a rip off. First of all last year I used their car wash and something inside the car wash popped my rear passenger tire. They did not even fix my tire. Luckily I had insurance on my tires. So I let that go. I just stopped using their car wash. However last week on 12/3/2018 I filled up my tank on my Minivan. The next day I drove to work and my tank was already a quarter less full. Now I've been commuting for years and this has never happened. My car is well maintained and runs great. Low fuel tank light does not light up till approximately around 320 miles. Today the low fuel light lit at 300 miles. The picture shows 308 cause I couldn't take a picture until I stopped. 12/8/2018 I filled up again. My calculated miles per gallon was only 17.9 miles per gallon. My 2009 Toyota Sienna averages 19-21miles per gallon. My driving this week was no different. My hunch is their adding air when you pump gas to your car! That is ripping customers off!!! I went and told the employee he looked at my car and said "it's dry" lol I told him look again bro it's wet all over even my windshield! I've been here a couple of times where an Asian lady or an Asian male was working at the register. They were okay. However, it was my experience with an Indian male last week that left a very bad experience. He had ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE and was DOWNRIGHT RUDE. I went in to ask for a receipt because the printer was out of paper. My exact statement was, "Pump #6 is out of paper." He proceeds to interrupt me to say, "You need a receipt?" I said, "Yes." He asked which pump, so I repeated 6. Then he continues, "That's all you need to say. I don't need to hear a story." WTF. This occurred on December 5 2017 around 9:45am (managers and supervisors take note as this is an actionable item. It's not only hilariously more expensive then the 2 adjacent places to fill up, its has a car wash from hell and a late night attendant who must have been born in hell. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I'm not barking at the Chevron brand, just this station in particular. I like this station because it's close to my house, it has a quick car wash port, and I like the Chevron brand. I came here on 6/25/16 to get a car wash and as I pulled into the wash port, I accidentally overshot the tire sensors. I backed up to correct my position, but for some reason the wash cancelled, and my wash code became invalid (I'm not sure if this type of thing is a regular occurrence, but I saw the same thing happen to another customer about a week ago). So, I politely asked the station attendant to help me out... I'm not sure if the dude was an employee, the manager, or the owner, but his customer service skills are awful. I explained to him what happened and if there was any way he could help me, maybe just reset the system or something. I clearly did not get a car wash (car was still dirty), so it's not like I was trying to swindle him. He actually blamed me, and sort of scolded me, about the size of my vehicle and my driving skill. Although my blood pressure rose to 200/150, I decided to keep things civil and gave him my honest opinion about the way he treats customers, and some tips for the future. I love Chevron, and it's a bonus that this station is so close to my house. But unfortunately, I will no longer be a customer of this station. Got scammed at this Chevron location. Bought a voucher for a car wash. Car wash breaks down midway into the wash. I asked for a refund but was told the manager wasn't there and the cashier signed my receipt to signify another car wash would be given to me at a later time. I've gone here twice at various times only to be told the same thing that the manager is out and the cashier cannot authorize the car wash. All this over a mere $5. Do not go here! all the prior reviewers are either stupid or high, there ain't no car wash at this location and the gas prices are the lowest aside from Costco gas around the East Bay even when you pay by debit card. Aside from being located at a busy intersection, the employees are nice that I have encountered. The most annoying I have witnessed are the rude, unreasonable and ghetto customers holding up the line while demanding certain type of smoking products. There was a nail caught in one of my tires and I needed a repair quick! I first went to the repair shop across the street and after waiting for 15 minutes in line, I decided to come here instead. Tire repair fee is $20. A little pricey but repair was very quick and staff who took care of my car was friendly. I was in and out in 10 minutes. read more

I've never been this pissed off over what I experienced tonight 7/28/16 at 6pm - 8pm. I purchased my gas and carwash from the attendant inside since the pump wasn't accepting any cards.(crappy start) After filling my tank I noticed the line was too long for the car wash and my family is hungry, so since my car wash code doesn't expire until 8/11/16, I can come back later tonight when it was less busy no problem. I return after feeding my family dinner at 8pm. My kids are always excited to go through the wash. I go to enter my car wash code and it says code not valid. I park my car and walk in to the store. I explain to the attendant that my code doesn't work. The Indian gas station attendant man was TERRIBLE! The first thing out of this dudes mouth is "why doesnt it work?" Who says that? How the hell am I supposed to know why his crap machine doesn't work??? I told him I punched my code in and it says invalid. He insisted that I used my car wash code already and proceeded to print out when the code was used. He says since it's been 2 hours you must have used it No No No (I'm paraphrasing of course since he has a strong accent) I explained to this moron that the line was long, so I left to get dinner with my wife and 2 young kids (in the back seat watching all of this garbage through the window) and now we are back with no wait time. You used code already " continues to scold me over and over about how I used it already and then demands I come back with him inside as he calls his manager. At this point I'm fuming mad. I took my car for repair of fuel tank filling breathing tubing. They did not give me written estimates and told me verbally that the charges would be $195.00. If I could, I would give no stars. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. I purchased the most expensive car wash and was waiting patiently to use it. The car that had just finished could not get out (he had to go over the bump and it was too slippery). Therefore, I backed out and let him out of the car wash. When I went into the car wash, my front tires crossed over the bump, but the sign did not say "stop" like it normally does so I kept going. It finally said "stop" when my back tires were nearly over the bump and the car wash started. This was probably because it did not register the car before me ever leaving the car wash in the first place. The problem was that my car was nearly out of the car wash and it was only washing the backside of my car. Therefore, I backed up. Then, it stopped, since the bump registered my wheels going over. At this point, my car is covered in soap. So, I go to the front counter and tell him my situation. He kept yelling and laughing at me and kept saying that it was my fault, not his car wash's fault and that I did not stop at the correct time. TRUST ME - I know how to work a car wash and have done this millions of times. I know to stop when the sign says "stop"! My car was covered in soap and I asked if I could have a refund. He said he could not give me a refund. Then, I asked if I could have a car wash. He said he wouldn't give me another car wash because it was my fault in the first place. I was INFURIATED at this point, but I acted calm and collected and just left. I spent about 30 - 40 minutes parked in front of his lame store in my EMBARRASSING SOAPY car just fuming and writing this review. Finally, he came out and said he talked to the owner and agreed to give me a car wash. I was thankful, but this NEVER should have happened in the first place. If I did NOTHING wrong, I deserved either a refund or a proper car wash right there and then. I felt humiliated that he kept saying it was my fault.
