(Btw, they won't take that charge off the total bill either if they do the car work, it is a flat fee) When taking with the manager Rocky about this, and reminding him I had paid them a year ago $3800 for a new transmission on this car, and that I had been a very regular customer for over 10 years and that I was not happy about that high of a charge, he wouldn't budge repeating that my husband had approved it. I also wasn't happy how they embarrassed me by refusing to let the tow truck take the car off while I discuss the bill with Curt and Rocky the next day. Is this how you treat your 10+ year customers who had recently paid you $3800? Embarrass them and hold their car hostage? It's not like you don't know I live up the road under a mile away, have had my address and credit card info for all those years. It's not like I or my husband don't go into your place almost every single day. Well Rocky, you have lost my business completely. We were daily customers for gas, cigarettes, occasional beverages, etc. Hope that extra $100 you charged me was worth it. Today, 06/26, I went down the drinks aisle and there were various vendors and/or employees (hereafter "vendors") putting away merchandise. Most were to one side so as to not block traffic. One idiot had a cart on one side of the aisle and then merchandise directly next to it on the floor thus completely blocking traffic. When I approached, it appeared to me that he was quickly picking up the merchandise on the floor so he could move the cart and thus allow traffic to flow. Oh, what a fool was I to believe he was removing his traffic block. He looked up to me and said something like, "Oh, I didn't see you there. YOU should have said something." Examine the situation. 1) He did not apologize for creating the block to begin with. 2) And of course, he failed to prevent a block to begin with. 3) He says he didn't see me. Let me try that when I get in a traffic accident. Would my failure to see be a defense? Or the reason for the accident? 4) He then blames me. The whole issue is apparently because I didn't say something. Apparently, the burden was on me to tell him not to block traffic to begin with. And you know why he blocked traffic to begin with? Because he can. Because no manager at the store manages. And you know for how much longer he will do it? Until the day he is fired. He is not customer oriented; he is task oriented. He doesn't the see the customer as the reason for his job, he sees the customer as a burden to his job. He likely arrives in relief at the store knowing that the manager is always nowhere to be found. No vendor in a properly managed store would ever attempt to be so stupid as to have merchandise across the floor to completely block customer traffic.

First point, I really miss the Bartell Drugs that this store used to be. It was well-stocked,…read morepeople were friendly, and it was in a convenient location. Then the Bartell family got out of the business, went through a couple of non-family managers, and finally got bought out by Rite Aid, which was already in financial trouble. I don't think this store was restocked at all while Rite Aid was circling the drain. Anyway, CVS bought the wreckage of Rite Aid, including this store. So how is it now? Not bad. It's not Bartell anymore, but at least it's well-stocked. Many of the old Bartell employees are still there (or back), which is good. The location is still convenient. One thing I really miss about the Bartell era is that Bartell had the _best_ web site for vaccination reservations. They didn't stock as many vaccines at this location, so we more often went to Kirkland, but now we'll have to figure out a different vaccination system. I haven't tried the pharmacy here. Why "only" three stars? Mostly because Yelp has changed the words used for its ratings. Three stars used to be "A-OK". Four was "Yay, I'm a fan", and five was something like "Best ever!" Now it's just "OK", "Good", or "Great". Best ever is probably a one-of-a-kind family-owned pharmacy that we discovered when COVID vaccines were scarce, except that it's far away, in Lynnwood. "Yay, I'm a fan" was the Bartell on Mercer Street back when it was a Bartell. This place is OK, thus three stars. (Two stars would be Amazon Pharmacy, which generally sucks, and one star I reserve for things like scammers and restaurants where I've had food poisoning.)

This is a nice addition to the old Kirkland Fred Meyer. This filling station is an improvement, to my way of thinking. They have something like 6 lanes and 18 pumps to fill up under a covered canopy. One way in and one way out keeps the cars moving. If you shop at Kroger stores you can use your points for discounts on gas. I got a 50 cent per gallon discount last time I filled up, which probably means I spend way too much money on groceries. They have the normal convenience store items too, in outdoor covered racks. It's a good addition to the Fred Meyer property, much like the Costco gas setup a few miles away. As gas stations go, I'd have to say it's above average. It's close to the freeway ramps, which is convenient too. Get some gas, some snacks and get back in that nasty 405 traffic. As with Taco Bell, I give them money, and they give me gas.
