My buddy stopped by here to put gas before we went on our hiking trip. It looked pretty beat up and when you see the building, I thought it was almost like going to a prison area because they had metal bars on the window. The gas station doesn't have a lot of pumps and it's just in a random area to me. Someone next to us was having trouble pumping gas so she went inside to get an attendant to come outside to assist her. The building doesn't have any 76 signs so you can totally miss it if you didn't look at the gas pump. If it's convenient for you to get gas here then so be it but I think you'll have a better experience at another 76 location. read more

As the only gas station on Macadam, I stop only when I don't have enough gas to get to a different station. I say this because the prices are easily 40 cents more per gallon and the attendants are rarely friendly and take their time coming out to the pumps. read more

Terrible experience today. I pumped my own gas at this station today - there was an orange cone in front and to the side of this pump. No sign. Pump display on. I put my card in, get my gas cap off remove nozzle from pump and put in my tank. Gas starts spraying everywhere... it wouldn't turn off! I took the nozzle out of my tank, thinking it would turn off...NOPE. Gas spraying all over me, my car, my shoes. It finally turned off after I put the nozzle back in the pump. Then my receipt prints!!! $15+ dollars for 3 gallons of gas that sprayed all over me, my car, the ground. I go inside to ask for a refund, and the attendant said " oh yeah, that pump is broken. " "I can't give you a refund. You should have known it was broken- there was a cone in front of the pump." I say, "there was no sign, pump was on, it looked open for business". "The gas poured all over me and my car. No gas went into the car." He says, "the cones have been there for 2 days. No one has used that pump for 2 days" - looks at me like how dense are you? I say, "come on, there should be a sign or something, telling people it's out of order. I would like a refund." He says "I can't do that. You can come back tomorrow and talk to the boss. He'll be here at 9 am." I say,"I work 8:00 to 5:00 the rest of the week. I won't be able to come in." He says " are you trying to give me a bad day?" This is the only gas station in the Macadam area and gets a lot of traffic because of that. There is also a convenience store and rest rooms. The gas prices here are abut higher as well. The layout/location of the gas pumps in proximity to the convenience store gives you a 50/50 chance of getting backed into which isn't good. There also isn't great ingress and egress due to the stop light. All but one of the attendants that I have encountered could really care less and seem unhappy. Simon is always happy and greets customers with a smile. Please do not go here or give them any of your money. This gas station will not give you gas, even if you are ON EMPTY, because they "do not pump gas before 8am." Not to mention the state of OR wants everyone to wear masks and nobody working or shopping in this gas station was wearing any form of face covering. Gross. I made it to work without running out of gas, thankfully. But I would rather risk running out of gas on my way home then giving this business any more of my money. I have been going to this station for about 10 years. I work on Macadam and only go when I really have to as it is a bit more expensive than my neighborhood gas station. I stop by more frequently for drinks or snacks than anything else. They have almost any beverage you can think of and and your typical gas station snacks. The cashier is always attentive and will let me know if they have something new he thinks I will like. As far as getting gas goes, you kinda have to plan out your enter and exit strategy before you enter the lot. It is a pretty tight squeeze. This is one of the worst gas stations in Portland. Multiple times I have tried to fill up here and there's no one working. The excuse is always, the guy didn't show up for work. Half the time customers are pumping their own gas bevause no one shows up after they wait for long periods of time. Which don't get me wrong I love pumping my own gas but the long wait before saying screw it I'll just do it myself is insane. The small chance someone actually comes out to help you, they don't even acknowledge your existence, just take your money and very slowly pump your gas. On top of all of that, this station is so inconveniently located. If there's four cars at the pumps, don't even bother trying to pull in. Not that there ever actually all four pumps open. Don't come here. Get your gas somewhere else. There is no one to pump your gas. When you do the pump cuts off after only a few gallons. The cashier in the store says it's not his problem. He refused to help an elderly couple trying to get gas. The restroom had not toilet paper and no soap. The store is run down. I don't know how this is a 76 station. I will admit I do feel a bit funny reviewing a gas station, but I have something to say! While I have been here many times before and haven't thought much of it, really how much do you think of a gas station, the last two times have been very memorable. I will start by saying my experiences both were early in the morning about 6:30 - 6:50. The first time I went the man started filling up my tank (like they so nicely do in Oregon) and then after a few mins tapped on my window and asked me to return the nozzle when done, because he needed to go inside. My thoughts, is this legal in Oregon? I finish the process and headed out with a smirk on my face. I just filled up my own gas in Oregon, SWEET! The next time I went, the same man was working. This time I sat in my car waiting. The man never came out. Another customer came and started to fill up his own car. Again I thought, is this legal in Oregon? After waiting some time I followed suit and attempted to fill up my tank. For whatever reason it would not let me fill up in the same way the customer next to me was able to. So after being there for ten minutes, I walked in the store and asked the guy to fill up my tank. He proceeded to say, " You fill up tank, yes. You fill up tank." I told him of my attempts to fill up and he repeated. "You fill up tank." At this point I left. The other customer told me he is frequently filling up his own tank here. So If you want to attempt to fill up your own tank in Oregon, come to the 76 on Macadam! This place still sucks but its presence is made more bearable by knowing that a new gas station just opened up down the road (where the old Pacific Pride was). Multiple pumps with cheaper prices, better access and a dedicated attendant who doesn't act as though you are interrupting his dinner when you pull up. These guys have cornered the market on people hitting the boat launch at Willamette park and I can only assume that those patrons don't have a problem paying $11 for a six pack. I do. BEWARE EXTORTION GAS STATION SCAM: I stopped by Saturday morning (12/2/2017) to get gas, when I went inside to pay, I noticed that I had misplaced my wallet at home. I offered to pay them with Apple Pay, PayPal, and with anything else, but "Zee" the "Manager" said "cash only" when I explained to him that I did not have my wallet and I was more then willing to pay in any way I could he immediately said IM CALLING THE POLICE! At that point I felt very discriminated against based on my age, I think he assumed I was a young guy who would not be able to pay for the gas. At that point it was starting to get uncomfortable. He said the only way he would release me from leaving the store would be I let me hold onto my iPhone X ($1000 value) I thought this was a bit strange so I asked him, do you usually ask people who leave their wallet at home to take their phone? And he said it never happens which I thought was pretty strange, I assume that at a busy gas station like this on Macadam I would think at least 1 or 2 people per week probably forget their wallets. Anyways, I had to be somewhere so I decided not to cause trouble and succome to his demand and I handed him my iPhone, at that point I had to drive alllllll the way to my house and back to the gas station to pay the extortion fee of getting my phone back. After I paid the ransom, the. Zee the proceeded to reach in a drawer behind him and pull out a person's wallet and say, something along the lines of: look most people are not as good as you, you came back for your phone, which leads me to assume they try to make people leave their belongings there so you forget to come back and they keep your items for who knows what.. I wanted to express my dissatisfaction of this horrible place. If you use a chip, Apple Pay or PayPal to pay for things, forget about it. This place only has a suspicious ATM machine inside for you to use if you have a chipped card. This company was not registered with the state of Oregon as a business name listed when I checked. If I could give this place no stars I would. I was desperate for gas so I stopped. There is no organization to how they run the pumps. I watched a customer pump his own gas which is ILLEGAL in Oregon. I sat for 10 min waiting to get unhooked from the pump. There's only 4 pumps. It's not that hard. Service attendant was rude and yelled at me when I complained. Never going back. I'd actually make a formal complaint. I'll let gas run out and call AAA before going back. read more

This is the WORST gas station in a neighborhood with very few of them. There are only 2 lanes, with 4 pumps, and it is always full. There is no good place to wait here, because you're blocking incoming and outgoing traffic in the parking lot. The one time I tried to maneuver around into an available pump, the attendant wouldn't fill up my tank (how ridiculous is it that Oregon doesn't allow you to fill up your own tank?!) I do appreciate that the station owner tried to get that other yelper to stop smoking, which is decent and hilarious. But still, this state is gas-backward, and this station is the worst. I greatly dislike this station. The selection and service are average, 3 stars for sure. The prices are high, lowers the score to 2 stars. My final critique is of the rude people who seem to be drawn here. I have waited in line for several mins just to be cut in front of by others or to be ignored by attendants who allow other patrons to refuel ahead of me, after witnessing me waiting for a pump obviously longer then other patrons. These negative reviews sound a little whiny. It's a gas station for crying out loud! I've been stopping here for gas etc. for 2 years now and have never had a bad experience. On 9/16/14 I was doing errands and driving around a bit to find a decent price at the pump. After seeing several $3.95 to $4.00 per gallon for Regular, I saw the sign at the 76 station on Macadam: $3.87 - yay! I double checked the sign, told them to fill up with Regular and went on my way. Two days later I checked the receipt to calculate my mpg, and saw that I was charged $3.97 per gallon. I thought they had chosen the premium pump by mistake, but the receipt stated Reg. The difference in what I paid is negligible, but I did return a week later with the receipt to notify them of this incident. I got a major run-around and the defense was that I was wrong about the sign that day. I KNOW what was advertised as I would never have turned into the station for $3.97 a gallon, having already driven past several others. Perhaps this wasn't a deliberate scam and the pump was set wrong that day, on honest mistake. But the staff did not want to hear any of it, were immediately defensive and insisted I was wrong about the sign. I lost a couple of bucks, but what if that pump was wrong all day - that's a lot of $2-5 overcharges adding up. If you purchased Regular gas on 9/16 at this station and still have your receipt (unlikely, I know), check it out. So future customers - check your receipts right away at this station. I hope this was a one-time mistake on their part, but I'm concerned for customers that it might not be. I won't return to this station, not because of the $2.00, but due to the staff's complete unwillingness to hear my concern. read more

I had the WORST experience here tonight, I will never return and I will definitely tell everyone I know not to return. I arrived shortly after 10:30pm and wait a little more than 15 mins for service. In that time I unscrewed my gas cap and inserted the gas pump. Had it not been so late I would have left for another gas station but I live a few blocks away and I know this one is open 24 hours. When the man finally came out from inside he told me I needed to hurry up because he was closing and put a cone in front of my car. I responded that id like $20 regular and that I though they were open 24 hours a day and he said no they just called him tonight and said to close at midnight. I thought this was strange, but last time I was there he charged me more than advertised on wine and red bull, so I wasn't shocked by the new info. He pumped my gas and stopped it at $24.80, I told him I only wanted $20 and handed him my money. He said that this was my fault and started to take down me license plate. I said I again I only wanted $20 and he told me he was going to call the police! I retrieved $5 from my wallet and went to hand it to him, when he literally ran away into the store. I had to stop at this gas station just around the corner from my office because I was running on fumes, I have avoided this place quite intentionally due to the high cost of gas, but had no choice Friday morning at 6:25am. Attendant did come out to pump my $10 of gas. I left the station and went to work, decided to check my credit card account 3 hrs later and found two fraudulent charges on my account from outside the U.S. I immediately contacted the fraud department at my CC company and canceled my card. I BELIEVE SOMEONE HAS ATTACHED A SKIMMING DEVICE TO THE CARD SWIPING DEVICE AT THE PUMP, maybe an inside job or maybe not. In any case, I'm reporting this to the fraud unit at the Portland police department and will NEVER return to this gas station even if I run out of gas going forward. read more
