I like it for one reason. They offer air. Gas stations are supposed to do so. You are entitled to it, I believe under state law if/when you fill up. Yet not every establishment respects that. Many are begrudging. So you should -- I would argue one is obliged -- to do what is right and purchase something such as fuel. Then you have satisfied the social contract of doing right, and you should check the tire pressure.

The guys here are usually really quick (no longer than 30 minutes) but I usually come in the mornings so I can't speak for later in the day. Today I actually had 3 other cars in front of me but it still didn't take more than 30 mins. I really appreciate the guy running the smog checks today. He was hustling, running back and fourth when he really don't need to but it's awesome to see him taking his job seriously and wanting to get customers in and out to go about their days. As soon as a customer pulls up, he grabbed a clipboard and ran over to them. When customers were on their phones while sitting in the waiting area, the employee came over to let them know it's ready instead of yelling out their names. Just little things to made it a pleasant experience. Taraval also has a few coffee shops in the area so you could also go hang out somewhere and check back in later!
