This gas station has the best fried chicken in the whole world. And the dude at the counter is so great. He gave is a free sample and we made it a point to stop on the way back to get some even though we weren't even hungry. real

The gas is ok but what this place is famous for are the amazing corn dogs. There's a great deal on 2

This is the second time a Chevron station has helped me during a difficult cross-state move, and…read moreonce again I experienced kindness that went far beyond ordinary customer service. My move from Oakland to Reno turned into an incredibly long and exhausting day. An unexpected vehicle problem delayed my departure, and by the time I reached Colfax, it was already evening. During the chaos of the move, I had even misplaced my prescription glasses, making night driving through unfamiliar mountain roads even more difficult. After a half day on the road, I knew continuing would not have been the safest decision. After finding that nearby businesses had already closed for the night, I came to this Chevron looking for a safe place to stop. Although overnight parking is generally not allowed for moving trucks, the older gentleman working that night listened to my situation with kindness and understanding and allowed me to stay for the night. This happened late in the evening on May 1, 2026. I unfortunately didn't catch his name, but I sincerely hope the management recognizes him for his professionalism and compassion. Sometimes the safest decision is knowing when to stop driving. His kindness didn't just help a tired customer--it helped an exhausted driver avoid unnecessary risks on dark mountain roads. This experience reminded me of another Chevron station that helped me during a previous move. Twice now, Chevron employees have shown me genuine care when I needed it most. Small acts of kindness like this make our roads safer for everyone. Thank you to the entire team at Colfax Chevron. I will always remember your kindness. Highly recommended.

Quality/Quantity - This is our emergency gas station…read more Whenever there is bad/dangerous weather and/or accidents on the summit, we make sure to have a full tank of gas before going up. There was a snow storm yesterday and 10 degree weather all morning made plowing almost impossible. And too many drivers that do NOT have experience driving on the snow. Let alone the wrong type of vehicles. Another reason why I have a big truck! Atmosphere - Easy in and out. 4 double sided pumps. Typically easy in and out. But not on storm days as everyone is gassing up and using the last chance bathrooms here. So on days like this, be prepared to wait. Remodeled bathrooms, thanks. In the past, they were "out house" quality bathrooms. Only use it if you really need it, lol. Service - Self service. Well now you need a key for the bathrooms. And lastly they only give you access to one of the two bathrooms. Price - Expensive, but worth it for safety. Nothing worse than running out of gas in a snow storm. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1980. 1980 - Spun off of Coastal States Gas Corporation. You have too long of a buy/sell history for me to list.

Terrible customer service, over priced gas for a Valero (priced well over $5/g, similar to…read moreChevron), door hinge needs to be repaired on their bathroom, so the door closes behind customers as they exit...this way employees don't have to walk outside, close the bathroom door, and then make rude comments about not closing the door behind you as you wrap up fueling. If that's too much work to walk 10 feet to close a door, fix your door. For customers, don't bother going here unless you want to receive poor service. There are 3 other gas stations on this exit that are in better condition, where you will receive better service, and likely better valued fuel pricing.
