Staff here is super nice!! Music playing in the background sets a good mood while getting a great haircut. They are respectful of the type of music they play. As soon as I walked in they changed their tunes. I was like hey play what you normally play, I listen to everything and don't get offended. Goes to show that they have a level of respectability. Place is clean and they disinfect all their tools of the trade after each cut. You get what you pay for. They also have a female barber as well! There's nothing worse than a man who feels like because you're a woman you don't know wtf you're talking about when it comes to YOUR HAIR, YOUR preferences and YOUR experience!!! I've had enough experiences with African men to come to the conclusion that most of them are this way. Doesn't matter what industry! They're arrogant, aggressive, know-it-alls who feel like women should shut up and know their place! Jayjay was no different!!! I came in and asked specifically for what I wanted... I asked him to please leave my baby hair alone, so that I can do THIS (and proceeded to show him a picture of a girl with a short cut and baby hair) - I thought he understood!!! The first thing he said was, I'm gonna use "these clippers" - I should have just told him the number I wanted so he would t be talking to me like I was in kindergarten but whatever... He said he'd cut about half from the sides and back, NOT the edges! Apparently he didn't understand what I wanted because the first thing he did was ride the clippers UP my sideburns WTF??!!! Then he has to even it out so he does the same on the other side. He also pulled out the scissors and went Edward Scissorhands on the top even AFTER we discussed that the top was fine, I just wanted a little off the sides and back!!! Sigh!!! I really hate these dudes bro, like really!!! Then at the end, he says "so you want me to line it up?" Bruh!!! GTFOH and take this cape off of me so I can go!!! Fuck!!!! He was rude, heavy handed and tried to lie to my face!!!! So I had an appointment for today with a barber named Jay Jay some older man who completely fucked my hairline up and hair itself as you see attached. This was not what I shown him I wanted and if what I wanted was too advanced for him he could've told me and referred me to a coworker. My hairline is trashed he extended it way too much and had the audacity to say he wanted to extended it more. I paid to look like my mother took me to the cheapest shop around for a haircut and I'm not beat for this I have reached out on phone and Instagram to barbershop itself because even one of his coworkers booked me to fix his mess. I want my money back or someone who can actually do the good fix this shit and I promise you I won't waste my time on this shop EVER AGAIN! I stopped coming after two of my previous barbers left the shop and now I see why. They literally just hire anyone who owns clippers as you can see with the visual evidence I have provide below. Please let me know who to talk too because the barber didn't want me to talk to the owner and even said he didn't have their number which is just the stupidest lie ever. The haircut isn't even close to want I showed him I wanted and this is just ridiculous. All of the barbers seem to be very skilled, which is great, so you can't go wrong if you're not able to get in the chair of your barber of choice. HOWEVER, the guy with the dreads and the glasses near the window has the manners of a dog. He's rude, nasty and needs customer service training. There are far too many barbers in town to settle for someone who sees no need to be courteous. I would suggest you try the barbers on Village Plaza ( for Black men and boys in particular ). So I needed a cut in the worst way and my beautician was slammed out the wazoo with appointments until god knows when. So I come on this here yelp and find Lucky7 and said fuck it, todays a good day to try someone new. I was anticipating that because it was a Saturday I'd be in the barbershop all day so I was mentally prepared for it. I pull up walk in see quite a few people waiting for cuts but then I see a guy with dreads in the corner who directs me to the empty chair in the window. Im like no way did I just walk in and get seated right away. Of course I'm like damn these folks waiting but not for him? He did a good job on cutting his hair but I would never go back to an establishment where they would tolerate treating children so nasty and disrespectfully. I've been here once to get my hair cut (I'm a male who keeps his hair short most of the time) and it was the best job I've had in the recent past, maybe ever. I forget my barber's name, but he was friendly and attentive to what I was looking for. I pass by the shop sometimes and it gets packed, but if you bring a book or go with a friend, the wait isn't that bad.
