    The calm before the storm....

This is one of those locals locals locals bars that will allow outsiders in, but you will get the side eye...LOL! Kat said to meet up here and I had always wanted to come but never had the chance. Pau Hana Friday was a great day to be introduced! Everyone was pretty chill! I didn't know that parking in the mechanics next door was ok, but I parked on the street. Though it is small inside, they make use of all the space with a pool table and darts. She: If you're going to have more than two glasses, you should buy the bottle Didn't take much to twist Kat's arm. I stuck to my Jameson and ginger. The first one was weak, but the two that followed were very strong. We ordered the lupchong fried rice, fried gizzards, and fried lettuce...LOL! Oh and a spam and egg sandwich, which wasn't the best. Loved the fried lettuce since I'm trying to eat healthier...LOL! The fried rice was really good and I actually now like fried gizzards. The place was getting really crowded. Luckily, we kept on drinking cause we were there for about 4 hours! This is a pretty chill place to come to. Looking forward to coming back and exploring the menu. Mahalo 8FF8!

8 Fat Fat 8 Bar & Grill is an underrated Sunday morning football spot, especially if you want to avoid the packed sports bar chaos. I rolled in just before kickoff and found plenty of open tables--no mad rush for seats, just a laid-back group of regulars enjoying the game at a mellow pace. Their breakfast menu still delivers solid local comfort food, with standout fried rice, Portuguese sausage, and eggs cooked just right. It's a great value for the portions, and everything came out hot and fast. The staff was friendly and attentive, with no wait for refills or drinks--even during game time. The atmosphere is more chill than rowdy, ideal if you actually want to focus on the football (or chat with friends instead of shouting over the crowd). Multiple TVs ensure you get your choice of games, and the morning drink specials are a nice touch. If you're looking for a relaxed, not-overcrowded Honolulu spot to catch Sunday football and enjoy a tasty breakfast, 8 Fat Fat 8 is perfect. Easy parking, solid food, and zero stress--just the way a Sunday should be!

If you're looking for an authentic Honolulu experience, 8 Fat Fat 8 Bar & Grille is the spot. This place is everything a neighborhood bar should be--laid-back, full of character, and overflowing with great food and even better vibes. The atmosphere is pure local -- very welcoming, and it's clear this is a well-loved community hangout. FOOD IS AMAZING !!!

Spam an egg sandwich I ordered my egg scrambled well done because I don't like raw egg

I will be honest I'm not a bar person, but I love bar food. This place blew my mind with the variety of food they offer and the pricing is very reasonable for what you're getting. They also have lunch specials on their menu, but the big shocker for me was not their famous chicken, pork chops, etc. but something called fried lettuce Which if you think about it sounds so ridiculous but it is so darn tasty. Everybody is friendly and the atmosphere is somewhat homey so I had to give it five stars for just everything ,the total ambience with the excellent customer service attention to detail and outstanding food and bedding able to surprise me with something so different-you got me fried lettuce.

Pork Chops. Flavor is so good on these

Great chill, casual spot for drinks, darts, karaoke and of course most importantly the food! The 8 Fat Chicken is a must have. It takes about 20-30min so good to order it when you order drinks. We order the rest of the food a bit later so it all comes out around the same time. Fav items: Pork Chops, Ginger Noodle, 8 Fat Chicken but everything is good and reasonably priced. Good for happy hour or late night!

I dream about this place. Walking through curtains was a little sketch but absolutely worth it. A dive bar, so don't expect anything fancy-JUST AMAZING FOOD. Garlic shrimp, CHEFS KISS!!! Fat Fat wings were a little greasy for my liking but were still delicious. Especially with the garlic sauce!!! Owners: please do not fall for the expansion or opening a second location idea. Lol, please stay as you are. The authenticity is real and appreciated. It is worth the experience.

    Delish foods i highly recommend

Ordered delivery today of several foods and it was all so onolicious! The fried foods were fried to perfection. They were also soft unlike other places that we've tried. We Loved the garlic tempura, shrimp pillow, fried ika, fried lettuce and croquettes. Mom also loved the fried chicken. The food made my elderly Mom very happy. Highly recommend the food. Plan to order more in the future. Super fast delivery, excellent tasty food and great service. Thank you so much! You guys are the Best!

8 Fat Fat 8 is a great local dive bar and with delicious food. I've only been there a a couple times to eat in but their food is so delicious that I order it through Uber eats. I love their garlic shrimp and special crispy chicken. The prices are very reasonable and portions are generous. There's a nice size parking lot but it can fill up when they're busy during happy hour times right after work. Definitely recommended for some delicious local food.

This sport bar has very tasty food. When my colleagues and I get together for fun, we like to go to 8 FatFat Bar & Grill. We always order the shrimp fried rice, boiled garlic soybeans, crispy chicken skins and spicy pork chops because it is so ono!! We always ask for vinegar with chili's on the side to dip the crispy chicken skins. Service is always great. They are very busy so make sure you all have time to wait for a table. If you like challenges they have one pool table and several dart boards.

Nothing fancy but great service from Regan and good food! Came tonight for a quiet meal but the place was hopping with the final ncaa championship game so lucky to get a seat . The food was good and solid. Had their ong choy with beef over crispy noodles, their delicious fat fat chicken (a crispy salt pepper five spice) and half order of fries. It was fun to share the ambiance of the local dive bar scene.

    Are they wheelchair accessible?

    What's the parking like?

They share a parking lot space with Midas as well as have street parking. I did see a smart thing once and that was a van full of people that took an Uber/Lyft together. If you're going to drink and don't have a designated driver, think of that… Read more

Is it a good place for family with kids?

    No definitely not

Are under 21 adults allowed inside?

Yes they are. However, if they are caught drinking, we will ask the whole party to leave.

    Can you reserve today? (15)?

I'm sorry. I just saw several other reservations. We may not be able to take your reservation. It all depends on what time. If you plan on coming after 7pm, it will be walk in only anyway.

We were seated relatively quickly, outside, at a long picnic table. No problems there. But then... Our server (Andrew, I think that's his name...it was on the receipt but we literally never saw him after he took our order and then brought the bill), really didn't want any small talk at all. He seemed a bit annoyed when my fiancé asked about their own brews....almost like it would've been easier for him to just order Coors or something. You're a brewing company...people are going to have questions. All 4 of us ordered something different- Sicilian pepperoni pizza, some type of burger, pulled pork loaded fries, and a macadamia nut chicken salad. Food was average...you can tell they cater to tourists.. Our server never checked on us. He took our order, a runner brought the food out, and the next time he came to the table was with a bill. I actually had to flag down another service so we could cash out. I have so much respect for people working in the service industry. It's a hard job. You deal with people all the time and some of them are downright jerks. We weren't jerks. We were regular, nice customers. It takes a lot for me to not tip anywhere between 20-25%. Sadly, this was one of those times. 2 stars

The staff was super nice about it and was able to accommodate us, with only a small request that we be out by 8pm since there was another big party with a reservation coming in. Absolutely reasonable. They sat us right away at three large tables, which gave us plenty of space for food and didn't force us to sit super close together. Menus, waters, plates, napkins, and forks were all brought out immediately, and our waiter was quick to take our order. We started with the prix fixe menu for 8-10 guests and were going to add other items à la carte, but a handful of our group accidentally went to the other Side Street location (make sure your group is all on the same page), so what we ordered ended up being more than enough. We left stuffed and with 5 boxes of food still. Edamame was nice and steamy, and large enough to easily pop the beans out with your mouth. Wish there was a bit more salt though. The farmer's salad had everything going on from citrusy to salty to crispy. Avocado had a little bit of oxidation but the capers, dressing and potato curls provided plenty of reasons to overlook it. The fried rice came in a hefty portion, with sizable pieces of bacon and sausage. The chicken I didn't realize was boneless based on the shape of the deep fry, but it was nice to freely bite into it without worrying about hitting anything with my teeth. Probably a bit too much on fried bits but still good. Pork chops had a better meat to crisp ratio in my opinion, as well as juiciness. They even came with ketchup on the side, which I love as a pairing but don't see much of at restaurants. My favorite meat item was definitely the sizzling boneless kalbi. The presentation on the sizzling plate with a side of kimchi was spectacular, and the meat was full of flavor. We also ordered yakisoba, which wasn't part of the prix fixe. Tasted good but nothing past standard expectations. We let the waiter know we had a 30th birthday at the table, and they brought a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream with a candle, and did a decent job getting the whole room to participate in the singing. It could also be the type of crowd this place attracts, since it seemed that everyone was so friendly and approachable. Thanks to the quick and consistent service, we were out in a little over an hour with no complaints.

This is a family style dining restaurant. For example. The original fried rice $26 feeds six people. Go figure!
